I am sorry to write a negative review, but....hopefully this will help someone. We had Pelican Pools service our pool for several years. And then, the previous owners sold the company and that's when things started to go badly. Our regularly scheduled service day is Monday's. It seemed like every Monday we had a different person. The one person was here for 4 minutes and 15 seconds one day. Don't know how much you can get done in that time. Now comes the good part. We needed a new Wi-Fi based control system. We had an older one, Pentair. They replaced the old with the new one, ($2.400+). It was supposed to take an hour. They were here all day and at the end of the day, the heat would not work. The said "we probably fried the heating unit turning it on and off so many times". They finally blamed it on our outside heating unit. Since they did not work on those units we hired a company to come out and look costing me another $165. After 15 minutes they found the problem. The new Pentair system ($2,400 +) was wired incorrectly. The Tech rewired it and now it works fine. If you are looking for a pool service company, I would HIGHLY recommend looking anywhere but Pelican Pools. read more

Service is awful, customer service is just as bad. You never get a phone call just emails. They are a corporate service just interested in the dollar. I had a local pool service for 5 or so years - what a joy - until he retired. Now my pool is green, my equipment "doesn't work" and I have to get the mess cleaned up. After father passed, Son took over and didn't do 1/2 if what I was paying for. Filter wasn't cleaned in 4 months and my cameras showed him at my house 5-7 min a week only. Didn't brush bottom of pool either. read more

Pelican Pool Service of Pt Charlotte Florida has become an undependable and non-skilled provider for services for our swimming pool. They are sending a different service person almost weekly and often changing new service days without customer notice. They are now not vacuuming as promised. Lastly, they are creating leakage of our pool water by leaving valves open and non-secure. Pelican Pools is not recommended by this customer, under the present ownership and management. read more

This has been sold to folks that are now based in Englewood, Florida. The level of service has drastically diminished. The office personnel are rude. Find another husband and wife team. I am happy for Larry and Marlene to retire. At the same time, the new folks like the flash of sending weekly reports with pictures. That is a whistle and bell, but the courtesy and overall responsiveness is gone. I am sorry to see something Larry and Marlene built be taken downhill so fast. read more

hello my name is Steven fontalvo i was currently a employee with pelican pools until today @ 1:15p.m when one of the two owners called me and told me they were firing me and the reason being and I quote (it seems like your not happy with the company) end quote to which I replied to daulton one half of the owners..you are correct I'm not happy with the company because of pay and the way you guys run operations there and how you treat people...One of my biggest complaints is that they like to work the techs a lot to save there company which they are in debt to but then when it's time to take care of there employees they give us bonuses on a week where they knew no one made a 40 hour work week that week and I believe they thought they were being nice but we all know that's a lie it was just to make it seem like they care about us so we keep working without mentioning that until just 2weeks ago when they went with a new payroll company we weren't taking 30 mins breaks that we are legally entitled to so for 4 and a half months they had me and the other employees working without breaks...This is the first time I ever had to deal with a business where the problem is the actual owners and not a manager or co workers..and where the owners don't want to hear about your grievances they rather fire you while you're at a pool in front of a customer because neither one of them are man enough to talk to you to your face or even try to fix the problem..so to daulton and Colin you Lost a few good employees and more are gonna leave so I hope you guys know what to do because it seems like that debt you got is gonna get bigger...I would like to say that they're good people in that company that helped me and have a good heart and treat you like a human being..management thank you to Briana from my fellow co workers thank you to Josh, Nick, And Darren..my time with this company is over but I do wish those 4 people the best and hopefully they all find something better like I am..on to a job who's gonna actually pay and let you move up in the company to better your life not just better the company read more

Wicked Awesome company!, The owner Larry came by to check our pool for we had a water leak. I told this wife on the phone we were losing 2 inches a day in water. Larry came here 5 plus times to check our pool for the leak and tried to locate the problem. Larry had to refer us to another company for the leak is in the pipes under the pool deck ; ( I asked Larry what did we owe him and he said nothing, for he did not find the leak. I would recommend this company to anyone living in South Gulf Cove. read more

The tech. Was fourth wright and delight to work with. Came for leak that he was not able to find, he said there would be no charge Then he straightened out my timers. I asked that he please send service charge. I wish more pool companies would follow PELICAN's model. read more
