I hope people who lose things at Fiumincino Airport in Rome read this. My wife left her cell phone, purse and a jacket at the security screening on Labor Day 2022. Online, we found a number for Lost and Found. They have two numbers, one for inside the security screening area, one for the rest of the airport. Within two days, we spoke with a person at Security Lost and Found who explained clearly what we had to do to retrieve the lost items. After that we attempted to get DHL to be our cargo service. Lovely guy in NY walked us through the paperwork BUT DHL in Rome never picked up the stuff. At that point we were more than three weeks after Labor Day and those lovely people at Verizon start threatening to shut off the phone and take our phone number away. We then called Pelican who we had never heard of until this. Their instructions for paperwork were clear and with only a few email glitches, they had all they needed and picked up the lost stuff to send to us. And it was cheaper than the price DHL quoted. Here's the bottom line. Pelican knows what they are doing, they do it efficiently and someone (Alessandro in our case) is always available to give you help. Could not more highly recommend a service. Remember this is all on line of over the phone. No reason they should treat us so well, unless they actually wanted people to use their services. We hope we never have to BUT would not hesitate to ask for their help again. One chink in the delivery chain was US Customs. For reasons completely unfathomable to me, they held the stuff in Indianapolis until someone provided them with a "Drop Ball" certificate. Look it up. Anyway, we did not know that until we received a notice of delayed shipment. Pelican uses FEDEX for transport, so we went through them and got it worked out - despite my continuing bafflement about the purpose of the certificate. Yesterday, a little more than one month after losing the phone, purse and jacket they arrived at our door. Awesome !!! read more

I was definitely delighted with the service of Pelican Express. My story is worth telling. On January 3rd I got on a plane at Fiumicino Airport, Rome, and flew back home, to Montréal. Everything was fine, but my computer had disappeared! To make a long story short, I finally realized that it had remained 'trapped' in security. And it took me a lot of work to find out that indeed the security people had put it in their 'Lost&Found'. At each step I thought i was talking to uncooperative machines giving me conflicting information. Finally I was told that it was up to me to hire a courrier, if i wanted to retrieve my computer! So, I contacted Pelican Express. Immediately things changed. Though we only exchanged phone calls and sms, I felt i was talking to real people! They explained very clearly what I had to do, and they were extremely patient and understanding, helping me coping with rising anxiety. If possible I would give more stars. This company was excellent. My wife left her cell phone in Rome at the airport. When I tried to contact the airport lost & found not once did they answer the telephone. When they responded via email they stated there was no cell phone matching ours. We could see via Find My Phone App it was in the lost & found dept. Pelican Express stepped in and with a little information got it back. Can't say enough about this company. I'm a retired police officer and would endorse Pelican Express for trustworthy & honesty. The cell phone arrived in 2 days after they got it back. I was waiting for my return flight to the US from Rome when I noticed that somewhere along my route to the Gate my cellphone came off of my belt. I had reported it to a service that connected me to the airport's Lost & Found, who contacted me a week later saying they had the phone and to come and get it. Since I wasn't going to fly back, I asked for a recommended solution, and they recommended Pelican Express. I'm so glad they did! In a flap, i left my laptop in one of the security bins on the conveyor at Fiumicino Airport. Thinking i would never see it again, i nonetheless called the number for lost property (found online) and they gave me the number for Pelican Express. Pelican was wonderful: they collected my laptop (a newish Mac Airbook, £1500 to replace!) and parcelled it up incredibly securely. Within a week of losing it i had it back. I recently went abroad. On my stop through Rome I inadvertently left my drawstring bag on the seat , not realizing I had left it. When I did realize it, my connecting flight made it impossible to retrieve. I hired Pelican Express Courier Italy to retrieve my bag for me. I received it recently in the mail. Consider using them if you are ever traveling through the Rome Airport and accidently leave an item on board the plane.
