Even took the time to fix and repair some components to make it safer. Thanks for spending the time on the phone addressing our concerns. Would definitely recommend for any college parents at Adrian or Siena Hgts.

We have gone out of our way to try to get a hold of Blane Tanner who owns Tanner Auto in Adrian,…read moreMichigan, for months to no avail. So, we are only left with the option of sharing our story publicly in hopes that it saves someone else time and money. We have been using Tanner Auto since about the time they were established and never had an issue with them. We loved Blane and he did excellent work. However, the last two times we took our car in, we got serviced by someone else. The first time was in May. We took it in because a clicking noise was coming from underneath the hood and we wanted to know what that was before we got what else we knew the car would need (suspension work) done. After the assessment, we were told that the clicking noise would stop once the front-end stuff was done so we went ahead with that work ($2,500). Which is a lot of money. The car rode greatly when picked up but still made the clicking noise. We are assuming that it was taken for a test drive after the suspension work, so we are not sure how that noise could have been missed by the mechanic and thus, why we were not told that it was still making the noise. After trying for weeks to get a hold of them on the phone about the issue, we were successful in doing so and made the soonest appointment that we could to have the clicking noise checked out once again. The same mechanic looked at it and said that we needed a new engine. What? Why were we not told this the first time before we put in $2,500 in repairs? We would not have put any money into that car had we known it needed a new engine. Why were we not told this the first time? Was it negligence? That the mechanic just happened to misattribute the clicking noise to something else? Or was it intentional? Either way, we, the customers, are out the money, not Tanner Auto. We never even got a reach-out or an apology from the business over this. No one would go ahead and spend that type of money on a car that needed a new engine. The value of the car was woefully below the engine price. So, to do so would make no sense at all. Obviously, the customer would not do this had they known. At this point, we bought a different car and was told by the dealership who assessed our car that Tanner's worked on, that the mechanic should have known that the clicking noise was coming from the engine and that the problem was in there before May- which we already knew- and he also suggested that we have a duty to take this up with the business. Again, we have tried repeatedly to address this issue to not have anyone reach out to us, which is why we must resort to sharing our experience this way. We welcome any communication from Tanner's. We want to resolve this. However, until that happens, and we say this painfully, we will no longer be customers and we can no longer recommend this place of business. Please contact us, Mr. Tanner. ~Don Stephens
