When you come to this town and there is nothing else to do, this is a good place to relax, get a drink and some food. The food and service are top notch here. The chips and ceviche are very fresh and plenty to share. Guacamole was fresh and tasty. Everyone in our party had a good meal and enjoyed it. The wait staff is very friendly and professional. Prices are about average for this area.

We went into the town of Puerto Morelos one day, took a cab and had lunch a Pelícanos right across from the water. I got shrimp ceviche and my husband got mixed fajitas. The service was friendly and sitting on the water was absolutely beautiful. Fisherman were bringing the catch of the day in front of the pier. I truly had a good time.

The restaurant itself is beautiful. It's airy, spacious, and sits right on the beach. The service is great - the waiters are friendly and attentive. The food left something to be desired. My partner had the pulpo, and found the octopus to be chewy (as did I). I know octopus is typically chewy but if you cook it a certain way it comes out much more tender. It was also bland. My fish was DRENCHED in like two cups of a cream-based sauce, which was thick and had started to develop a film on it. The shrimp was the only good thing about the whole plate. The fish filet itself was kind of soggy and the meat was dark. It left a lot to be desired, as I felt I spent most of my time searching for the fish under that heavy cream blanket and around all the dark pieces of it. In our opinion, the food was very overpriced for the taste and quality.

This place was located right on the beach, they took us right away but that's the end of anything else that is good! The service was awful, our waitress seemed annoyed to be waiting on tables. We ordered the platillo pelícanos , it was a large dish full of seafood, but none of it was good. Save your time and money for much better places out here.

Not typical of us, but we ate there two times already. Place was mobbed last night, but they found a table for us. Great waiters, super menus and fast food delivery. Billing was prompt, too.

While visiting Puerto Morelos we found this restaurant after being turned away from the place next to it which only took cash. The restaurant was very nice, it was located facing the beautiful beach, we wanted to sit outside but it started raining pretty hard. The restaurant was really clean, staff was super friendly and attentive. We ordered some shrimp tacos , guacamole and shrimp quesadillas , the portions were bigger than expected and it was all really good. The salsa was too spicy for us but it was nice to get a warning. Overall even with the heavy rain it was the best place to be stuck in.

Great restaurant in the Puerto Morelos area. The staff were very helpful, and nice. The food was good. They had Bud Light and it was the coldest beer I had all week! The tortilla chip sauce is spicy hot, I mean hot! A little goes a long way. We loved this area, one of our favorite spots to visit. If you're in the Puerto Morelos area, consider eating here on the outside seating area

Cool spot. Just sit here and take in the views with some beers, cocktails, and some guac & chips. The beach itself is just full on, the waters are clean and blue, just a reminder of Mexico's beauty.

This sauce is so hot but the chips are great

Every thing was so delicious but that seafood soup hit a special spot and I had to order a second. Our server Manuel was the most funny and nicest person. The view was great, centrally located, very clean with simple yet pleasing decor.

Relax Seaside with a Supremely Fresh Menu to Satisfy along with Unobstructed Views of the Beach and Stunning Ocean! Situation directly on the Boardwalk of Puerto Morelos this is the perfect spot to enjoy Breakfast or Lunch with Ocean Breezes whirling around you. Indoor Seating is Available along with Ample Outdoor Seating that stretches around the majority of the Restaurant. They can accommodate Small and Large Parties! Also, there is a Fully Stocked Bar with a good array of Beers Available! As we were walking around Downtown Puerto Morelos we saw the name catching Pelícanos. We quickly checked out their Yelp Photos and immediately decided to dine with them for Lunch! The staff is very friendly and accommodating giving the whole ambiance a very Carefree and Relaxing Vibe! Their Restrooms here are Pristine! For our Lunch Order we indulged in Chips, Salsa, and Guacamole along with a Small Order of Caracol "Snail" Ceviche! Our whole order was Exceptionally Fresh with so much Exquisite Flavor and Authenticity! The portions of each item were extremely generous! Our experience at Pelícanos was Inviting, Lucious, and one we will Recommend to anyone who is looking for Incredible Views with Refreshingly Delicious Cuisine!

Excellent dining experience! The staff was very pleasant although the wait was lengthy because of the size of the fish.

We didn't realize that the ceviche was a monstrous portion, so we had also ordered octopus Vera Cruz style.

Great service and cool al fresco vibe, you start of with a big basket of tortilla chips and a variety of salsas. I started off with a Ahi Tostada and Wifey started with a seafood soup which were both tasty. We shared a fresh Catch local Hogfish and Grilled Octopus which were absolutely delicious! Four items, and two drinks with tip came out to a little over $50 usd. Definitely worth the visit!

The vibe is super relaxed, with all seats in the sand. My kids enjoyed chasing the iguanas and sitting on the palm tree (which strangely grows parallel with the ground) while we waited for our food. We didn't see the option on the menu but our guide told us there is a big cooler and you can just pick out your fish to get it fried up fresh for you. Sure enough, there was a huge white cooler where we could sort through the fish options and pick one the right size for our family. It came with sides like beans, guac and tortillas, and all meals come with chips plus tomato and jalapeno salsas. We also ordered ceviche and the total price was less than $40 for a family of 4. More importantly, everything was super fresh and delicious! I wish I lived nearby so I could come back again - I would be a regular if I could!

It's easily my favorite seafood restaurant in Puerto Morelos - which is full of seafood restaurants. The bad part is that there is no ocean view and no air conditioning, you need a car or a taxi to get there and the staff speaks little English. The good part is that it is clearly a very popular local place - my party has always been the only obviously non-local group in a usually crowded place- and the seafood is amazingly fresh, perfectly prepared, served fast (considering it is made to order) and delicious. The portions are enormous. The price is reasonable. One can eat like a king for 15 to 25 dollars a person. My favorite is the octopus ceviche. The octopus is soft and fresh and perfectly cooked. Tossed with very fresh finely chopped onions, tomatoes and peppers in a lemon, chili and cilantro sauce that is not too spicy. The best ceviche I have had in Quintana Roo. A medium portion is a very ample appetizer for two people or a satisfying meal for one person. We generally follow up with the whole fried hogfish, around a pound of perfectly fried fish, very fresh, crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, nicely salted. Served with a salad, a small portion of yellow rice and a really strong hot sauce on the side. The octopus escabeche and the shrimp with garlic sauce are also excellent choices. A cold Corona beer (or two) completes the meal.
