I was driving home quite late a few months back and had got to the latter stages of the hunger, where if I didn't stop to eat something soon I would have been chowing down on the steering wheel, so actively began to indiscriminately look out for somewhere, anywhere, to stop off for something to eat. And I came to the Peking Garden.
I had my mind made up what I wanted before I even got out of the car, a curry half and half and a tin of coke. Not the most adventurous dish, but something I knew they could make quickly, and they sooner they made it the sooner I got it.
I waited around for about 15 minutes, and before I knew it I was back in my car and getting ready to tuck in. Unfortunately, even in the depths of my hunger, this food just did not do it for me. The rice and chips were hard and the curry just tasted, well, weird. Not like any curry I have ever tasted before.
Needless to say, I picked at it long enough to not be so hungry any more, and deposited the rest in the bin.
I feel quite bad about scoring this place so badly when I had only eaten in it once, but it definitely wouldn't deserve three stars based on this particular experience. read more
