Initially we subscribed to their club or whatever they call it. The service was always great, and this episode just enhanced our appreciation for their work.

My air was not coming out cold. I called on a Friday morning was told oh we have to send the person who went to do your maintenance service just a few weeks prior. (Why? It was a maintenance!) in the case this rep might have done something wrong, which I doubt he did. Unless he did something intentional. So, I had to wait till Tuesday. I went days without air, no it wasn't extremely hot but I'm in menopause and not having air when it's warm outside is not good for anyone! Tuesday comes around and they cancel on me. At this point my blood starts to change temperature to warmer not yet boiling. I'm like oh hell nah!!! They reschedule me to Friday. I was not going to be home Friday morning due having to run into the office for a few hours. The service rep Ryan A. called me. I was rude yes cause at this point I was going to cancel my service with Nexgen after they came to see WTH was going on with my air. I informed Ryan I was not going to be home he asked what time would I be home, I said after 5. He asked if he can come between 5-6. I said ok. I explained to Ryan what was going on and what happened. He didn't even look at anything yet and explained to me what he was gong to check on. He didn't try to sell or tell me everything else that needs to be done or suggested to be done: Yes, I completely understand your air conditioner and maintenance is an investment to do the things to keep it running and intact. However, right now in this crazy world we are all having a hard time keeping food in our fridge and making sure we have money for gas to get by. I just needed to put this honest review out here! I am a female home owner and I make the decisions in my home when it comes to who I allow in my home to help us maintain what we have. Ryan didn't BS me. The service was not cheap but it wasn't something that would put me out till next pay period. I told Ryan I was going to cancel Nexgen due to the horrible customer service I had received, till the service he provided. He was patient, not trying to sell everything he could find on his lap top. I've always appreciated the quality of work, which is why I chose Encore again for my latest project involving the installation of two faucets and unclogging two slow sinks. I submitted pictures and requested a quote through Yelp, and received a firm price, which was reassuring. I also made it clear I was in no rush and could wait until after Memorial Day, as I understand the holiday can be more expensive. Although I had other quotes to consider, I opted to continue with Encore based on our past positive work. I did add a request to remove and install a toilet to the project list as well. The plumber who came out did excellent work--handled everything required, cleaned up thoroughly, and I'm very happy with the end result on that front. However, I was disappointed by the change in pricing. Upon arrival and after work began, a valve started leaking, and additional charges were introduced for replacing the valves--something that, based on the pictures provided, other companies had already flagged as necessary. The quote for the extra work and the toilet installation ended up adding nearly $1,000 to the bill. While I were able to negotiate the price down, it still felt like I was being charged over $300 an hour for labor, and an extra $650 for something that could have been anticipated ahead of time. The sudden price change was frustrating, especially since at that point, I felt locked in--the plumber was already there, and now I had a leak in the line, making it difficult to bring in another company to resolve the new issue. Additionally, I was encouraged multiple times to sign up for a yearly service plan to receive a 15% discount. While I understand the value of ongoing service agreements, this approach didn't sit well with me, particularly since other plumbers and service providers in other Calif areas I've worked with have offered the first year of their service plan for free, allowing me to evaluate the benefits before committing.

They do a great job explaining what (if anything) is wrong. They take a lot of photos to provide evidence and they don't just speak out of their butt! They don't pressure you into getting anything that you don't need, however, they do give you recommendations on what might make things run smoother/better, but there is absolutely zero pressure to get any of these extra things. This time, Mario was the AC technician who came out and did the maintenance check on our HVAC and furnace; he also changed out the filter in the furnace. He was super nice, really knowledgeable and we will definitely be requesting him for future services.
