While we were waiting for our food, several tables that arrived after us were served before we even got our order. After four tables were served, I finally got up to inquire about our food. I learned that one of our dishes had been dropped and was being remade. Meanwhile, the other dishes sat on the counter, getting ice-cold. When I mentioned this to the staff, the girl reassured me that the food would be fine, but it was not. When our food finally arrived, one dish was so hot that no one could eat it, while the others were so cold that no one wanted to. As with a lot of restaurants in the last year or two, I feel like they are constantly changing their menu and raising prices, which is frustrating. They have taken off some favorites and added things like wings, curry, and family platters. Also, consistency and freshness are not always good. My meal yesterday had lettuce wraps that were about 50% browned/wilted. Kids' meals are supposed to come with broccoli, but now for some reason you have to request it, and sometimes they add it on and other times, I am charged for a side to add it. Other than that, I like the open kitchen, the green tea and condiment area (hot mustard and fortune cookies are a must), and the classic dishes like Pad Thai, Dan Dan Noodles, wonton soup, and lettuce wraps. I enjoy PF Chang's and from what I understand this is a sister restaurant. I like that they have gluten free options. I placed my order st 7:55pm and am still waiting at 8:17!! When I asked what the hold up was they said there are still three tables ahead of me. Mind you I have a to-go order and the dining room was mostly empty.... like 3-4 tables had people. There were 2-3 cooks. 8:19, My name is called and I walk to my car. Not good service PewWei. The employees seemed to be upset about scheduling or something and that was the topic for sure. I would like to see this restaurant make it but I am not sure I will be back. The food was ok. It is fresh and gluten free so I felt safe eating. The steak tasted burnt. It was crunchy, but that could have been from the ginger seasoning. The burnt taste was there though. I am so disappointed writing this. After years of hearing from my brother how good Pei Wei is, I finally made the trek out to one. I can honestly say, none of it was edible. I ordered the crab wontons and you could smell the fishiness as soon as I opened the container - never a good sign. The taste? Awful. Not like any crab Rangoon/wonton I I've ever had. Zero cream cheese, and fishy crab. Next up, egg rolls. They weren't half bad but were swimming in grease. Not exaggerating. Next attempt- Cauliflower fried rice. I really thought ordering this was a no brainer, I love cauliflower. But I was so wrong. It was so bland, like no spice or soy was used in the sautéing. Mushy beyond belief yet grainy?? I don't understand how that could have gone so wrong. And finally, generals chicken. At this point I give up. It was just ok. Not like any Generals I've ever had. Strange, overwhelming carrot flavor. Cauliflower rice was more mashed and grainy :( I ordered it to compare with the one I make at home but I stopped eating after one bite. noooo thank you. The General Tso's wasn't bad. This is regarding my take out order during Sept last week (Host: Arturo). I ordered Spicy Drunken Noodles. Asked Ms. Arturo to make it Extra Spicy. Additionally, I requested her to pack 2 Sweet Chili Sauce packets and Fortune Cookie. The food is not spicy at all, it is stale without any taste. It has only rice noodles, white meat chicken, and red bell peppers. It's missing onions, scallions, garlic, and fresh basil. From the Bland taste, I feel chili paste, and sweet & spicy sauce are missing too. I am not sure how the cook has missed these many items. Then, I didn't receive the requested Sweet Chili Sauce packets or Fortune Cookie (At home, I had checked the order check and Ms. Arturo didn't include any of the requested items with the order). This was my first visit and I am completely disappointed with the Host's incomplete order taking skills and cook's careless food preparation.
