I love this place! My daughter who is now 5 went through 3 different pediatricians, before we found Dr. Smith. The first one, Night And Day Pediatrics, was recommended to me by my obstetrician. I did not know anything about pediatricians since this was my first child. I took my daughter there for a year, hoping each visit might get better, but it just got worse. They would keep my new baby and I waiting in the little room for NO LESS than 35 minutes (and that would be a good day), UP TO AN HOUR for EVERY visit (this did not include the waiting room where we signed in, so this was added wait time) Then they would rush us through any questions we might have and act like I was an idiot for even asking questions. Being a first time parent, of course I had questions! The second one, Stone Oak Pediatrics, has a horrible front desk that was so rude and unprofessional, it was shocking. When I was trying to check out I guess the front desk was too busy and as I was waiting for my turn to schedule my next appointment she snapped "just call me later to schedule your appointment!" I hadn't done or said anything to her, I was literally just standing in line! Every time I left my appointment, she was too busy to reschedule a follow up and you would have to call back. The doctor we had wasn't very helpful in telling us what to expect next for milestones, it was like pulling teeth to get any information from her. The third one was Heritage Pediatrics. They were OK but charged an expensive fee for EVERY visit even when I was there for my daughters respiratory infection and they told me to come back in a couple of days if it hadn't gotten better. They did not give her any prescription, she did not get better, so I had to go back 3 days later just to get the prescription I knew she needed in the first place. They charged me a large fee for BOTH of those visits! Even though our family has EXCELLENT insurance. The front desk lady is sometimes irritated with everything and we did have to wait a while after being brought back. We went there for 2 years, and my daughter never warmed up to the doctor. He was nice and all but his "happy caring personality" was a bit forced and I think kids can pick up on that. FINALLY, a friend of mine recommended Dr. Smith at Pegasus Pediatrics. She had found his name in a Facebook conversation of other moms looking for good pediatricians nearby. I took my daughter there, there was no wait time. I've been taking her there and her new baby brother for about a year. He is so helpful, kind, informative without being condescending, and he has a quiet personality that my daughter immediately took to. She did not hesitate at all to follow his instructions of climbing on the table and letting him hear her heart or look in her nose, ears, or throat like she had hesitated every time at Heritage. The staff is sweet and helpful, and anytime I call to get an immediate appointment, they quickly get us on the schedule for that day. I love this place and am so glad my friend found his name! I hope this helps other parents looking for a great pediatrician. read more
