I don't understand how people complain about Dr. Piza. As a medical professional myself, I can tell you that he is a skilled surgeon that cares about his patients. He did a revision of my hip replacement after another doctor botched the 1st one. I appreciate Dr. Piza's laid back attitude. He listens to me & he laughs with me. His office staff has always been courteous & receptive. I have never had a problem getting an appointment even to the point of squeezing me in when they had to. I wish I can leave 0 stars. This man shouldn't be a orthopedic surgeon. Classless, & no bedside manner at all. Useless, & doesn't care about his patients. I went for a second opinion to another orthopedic....& he told me yes to bakers cyst causing ample amounts of pain. He didn't even see it in the mri till something was said. He was looking for tears. Please please stay away. I have recently read horror stories & I wish I did sooner. I literally sat there and asked for PT. Something to get my knee more flexible & back in shape. I had to get it from another doctor. $80 wasted & when I said something.... he had the audacity to give me a fcking attitude. Stay away. Find a new career. read more

Dr Piza performed a hip replacement surgery on me after a fall while I was in the hospital. The surgery went well and I experienced no pain whatsoever after the surgery. I was very surprised. I never had to wait too long when I had an appointment. His front office staff was efficient but not friendly. The rest of his staff was very helpful and nice. Pedro Piza is a brilliant surgeon. That's all that matters to me. I don't care about bedside manner or empathy. I can get that by looking in the mirror. Dr Piza has performed two surgeries on me. One for a dislocated broken ankle and one for a broken ulna and elbow. Might be receiving a third surgery. I would NEVER consider another orthopedic surgeon. If you follow his post surgical protocols then you should heal beautifully. read more

Do yourself a big favor. DO NOT LET THIS SURGEON TOUCH YOU EVEN TO CLIP YOUR FINGER NAIL. I HAVE SEVERAL PHYSICIANS IN MY FAMILY & THIS HAS BEEN HELL FOR MONTHS AND MULTIPLE SURGERIES BECAUSE HE DIDN'T DO HIS JOB. HAD TITANIUM SCREWS (we thought he must've been busy & forget to put those in my arm during both surgeries..... seriously) After the xray immediately after surgery my arm looked ok. Then less than 2 days later I could feel the titanium hardware (called internal fixation) move all around in side my forearm. Demanded another X-Ray - we were RIGHT!! All the titanium hardware was floating around inside my arm not attached to any bones. Bones are floating around with metal in my arm. Won't provide anything for the pain. Have called Mayo, NYC REAL HOSPITALS, Sports Medicine physicians, after Dr Piza screwed up the 2nd surgery - you can see the bones not in place under the hardware instead the bones are all over the place. The pain is unreal. You'd think be it'd be done correctly the 2nd time. Nothing supporting my fractured arm. Extremely bad fracture & will need another surgery in order to fix his mistakes from the first 2 surgeries. I was sent home with a band-aid. No cast, no support or anything had to beg for an Ace Bandage to cover (2) scars from my wrist to elbow. Nothing supplied for support MY ARM IS BROKEN IN1/2 plus bone chips are partying in my arm since they're not attached to anything. provided no support for arm after post-op. Been out of work for 2 months. Worst bedside manner. Which is fine...I don't need a new friend I need a surgeon who knows what he's doing. My bones in my arm are on opposite sites of the hardware so they can't connect and heal. I'll PAY YOU NOT TO CALL OR SEE HIM. WORST DOCTOR EVER. ITS THE JOKE WHAT DO YOU CALL A DR THAT GOT ALL D's but graduated?? You still call him doctor. I hope the worst on him. I raised 10k free masks in March when people couldn't get them & gave them away for free. So, it shows I care about out people. That's why I took this much time to write this review otherwise I would've took a nap but if I can prevent one person from going to him. All his other reviews have to be from friends and family plus he can remove negative reviews. I plan to save this review and reposting if he removes it. The doctor pedro Piza is very good. But the referall department sucks that much cost me 700 dollars the MRI because don't send the paper work on time and complete to insurance approve. When talk with Referal department leave me in hold and after few minutes hang out, never call me back and when I call back 3 minutes later every body there is on lunch. Office doctor screw up and i need to spend 700 or reschedule for next week. I can wait about the pain I have and need to pay. Nobody care patient problems. read more

There's no respect for family members while he's in practicing and family members did not even have the respect to call and notify family members that the operation was over just one not very respectful person! I've had two surgeries with Dr. Piza.....one in 2010 and my last this past November 2016...... He's not a hold your hand, cry on my shoulder, "Would you like ah cupcake ?" Doctor.... He's a solution provider......you broke it.....He will fix it......you ripped it, he will tie you back up.... Not a big talker......but Im not here for guidance counseling.......I need a guy who recognizes what needs to be done....then do it !!......slice n dice n sew me back up...... If you want information, ask the specific question....He will answer.... My first operation was great at Delray......I could never get back to 100% after what I did, but Im back to 90%... He operated in my after an accident. He is careless. He put a knee to big for me and left me with a leg almost and inch longer than the other. Today Nov. 23, I went to Dr Piza's Delray office. I had my temperature taken and was wearing a mask, Dr Piza's entire staff wears a mask, Dr. Piza DOES NOT WEAR A MASK. That is correct, a Doctor, an orthopedic Surgeon is seeing patients in his office without wearing a mask. His office staff, told me, he is the boss, he can do what he wants. What an irresponsible act by a man who took an oath to help people. Please Dr. Piza, tell me and all of your patients that you put at risk everyday , why you choose to do this. I contacted Delray Medical Center where Dr Piza is a surgeon and they told me they weren't aware of Dr Piza not wearing a mask but they will look into it and that it is a very serious accusation. In the hospital he is required to wear a mask and a shield I was told . Does Dr. Piza know that the coronavirus is running rampant right now, I think he must. Is he a herd immunity person or perhaps a supporter of our illustrious president or perhaps he is a narcissist who only cares about himself. I know this review is extremely harsh. It is meant to be. By sitting in Dr. Piza's office for 15 minutes before I saw him walking all around his office without a mask, he had the gall to put my life at potential risk, not to mention all his other patients and his entire staff. Sorry, Dr. Piza but unless you have a very good reason for your behavior, you are a disgrace to the medical profession. It's rare to find that perfect combination of a 5 Star staff and a 5 Star physician! This staff is absolutely outstanding!! During my multiple visits, I routinely see them go out of their way to take care of injured patients who need extra help. My Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement was very short fused and Grace was able to pull everything together and get the lab work, insurance and pre-op clearance done in two days. The entire staff has that perfect blend of friendliness, professionalism and efficiency. And the surgeon ain't bad either! Actually, Dr Piza is THE go to guy for Orthopedic surgery in Delray Beach/Boca Raton region. I went to him because a good friend had a hip replacement and was extremely happy with the results. I am 2 weeks post surgery on my shoulder replacement and it feels great! I came off pain meds on the second day home and have had no issues. Dr Piza is at the top of his game and has my strongest personal recommendation for Orthopedic surgery and joint replacement. A phenomenal surgeon with a rock star staff!! Dr.Piza performed a Total Hip Replacement on me in November of 2018. After 6 years of daily pain and limping, I could not have hoped for better results! I was out of bed in less than 6 hours after surgery. I was discharged in 24 hours, from coming out of surgery. After coming home, my recovery was fast and amazing. I was actually back to work ( for at least a couple of hours per day) within the first week. I explained to Dr. Piza that I owned my own business and could not be out for a long period of time. He talked to me about what I do in my business and made recommendations on how I could get back quickly and how to modify what I could do . I called a few times with questions and he always took the time to get me my answers. The doctor and his staff were amazing. Every day, I am very grateful for his skills and how he gave me back, a pain free life. Family, friends and my customers have been just as amazed as me, at how quick my recovery has been.
