Find the Doctor to care for your sick child and ensure his/her well being. Oh. Is that all? How in the heck do I ever start to do that? In my case it started with talking with friends and co-workers who have children. As I hunted the elusive prey one name popped up several times, Dr. Kathleen Hutchinson and the folks at Evergreen Pediatrics. It took one phone call and arrange for her to be our Tax Deduction's Doctor. After he came flopping out of The Wife the people at Evergreen were all over making sure he was healthy (unfortunately they couldn't do much about the quaking mass of paranoia that was at the time his new Father). Not just Dr. Hutchinson, but several of the Doctors were involved in his first couple of days on the planet. Since then, through colds, ear infections, sinus infections and one particularly scary incident to us as new parents it's been all Dr. Hutchinson and her nurse, Dorothy. I couldn't say enough about them or recommend them highly enough. Even if you call the emergency number late, she calls fast enough to make your head spin and follows up the next day if you have to see another Doctor. So next time you find yourself knocked up in the 'Couve and need a good Doctor might I suggest this one?

He speaks like a parent to me, not a doctor who knows a whole lot more than me. Anytime I have brought him a concern, he never says or implies "that's a stupid question" or demeans me for asking it. He takes the time to really engage and explain everything. To me, that means the world because he cares for the two most important people in my world. I have met several of the nurses and they are always a pleasure to work with. I was actually really warmed by speaking to the triage nurse over the phone because she was SO kind, reassuring and answered EVERY question I had when I called in. When you're worried about your kiddo, THAT is exactly the kind of reassurance you need. I also really liked the emergency docs we have seen the two times we came in on emergent visits and didn't get to see Dr. J. I don't recall the names of the doctors we saw, but they were both female and both excellent. I appreciate that the medical staff is top notch. The staff in administration, is another story. I have never dealt with being billed for my "patient responsibility" and not having the front ask if I want to pay my balance when I check out; but getting a "collection letter." I got a statement requesting payment and 2 days later got a past due letter. I was less than pleased about that. They also seem to be a bit clueless on how to speak to people on the phone when they call in to schedule. If they could get the administration and billing staff to get it together and for the love of all things good, be professional to parents calling in, I could give them 5 stars. But the admin right now is just not the same level of excellence that the medical staff is.

After a couple visits, I quickly realized that she possesses several qualities that set her apart from the average doctor. First of all, Dr. Pratt thinks outside the box and uses her intuition to gather all the pieces of the puzzle. She is open-minded and is willing to explore new possibilities even if it isn't within her usual scope of practice. Dr. Pratt does an excellent job at presenting the options available to her patients while still allowing them to made their own decision. Most importantly, her desire to help people is clearly the driving passion behind her work. I would highly recommend Dr. Pratt.

This place is the bees knees folks…read more I have visited 3 different pediatricians in the past couple months, my google search bar is chock full of things like "small pediatric office, personable pediatrician, ect ect" while those 3 pediatricians we visited may have been fine for some people they simple wouldn't do for us.. Because we were spoiled by our previous pediatrician, or maybe bias.. Regardless to say Rich Martin is to blame for treating us too darn good.. The guy offered to help us move if that tells you anything.. And he's a car guy too, best.pediatrician.ever You see, Rich always remembered us, when we had a sick kid in the middle of the night we could talk to him, not an advice nurse. He would call us or have someone call us the following day to make sure our child was doing well. Visits that would take 5 minutes most places took an hour with him, you got to put all your concerns on the table and discuss your options. He isnt old school and set in his ways but rather perceptive while still being levelheaded. He would always check the kids over from head to toe to make sure they were healthy. The bottom line is the guy has compassion and cares about his patients.. Not to say the pediatricians down here are jerks, they just have too many patients to remember one kid. We began seeing Rich Martin when our oldest son was 3 months old, he was still working at La Clinica, 3 years later we had our second son, Rich was opening his own practice (awesome!) La Clinica left a lot to be desired... The new office is fantastic, it's completely set up for kids without being tacky looking. We were expecting our daughter in 2012 and were very happy to have the peace of mind that shed have a fantastic doctor. Then my husband was offered a job in the metro area, we were less than thrilled to be leaving our beloved doc. Our daughter was born and we visited the new ped for the first time, the visit was rather rushed by the doc.. After leaving we sat in the car I said to my husband "well what did you think?" "What did you think?" He said " It was okay I guess, but he didn't even ask us if we had any questions or look her over, he seemed in a hurry. I just miss Dr Martin." We were on the same page. So here I sit, trying to find a pediatrician somewhat like good old "Dr Mart" as my oldest son calls him.. It's just not happening, because a good pediatrician is rare these days, especially over here. However having a husband who works mandatory overtime and being a full time student doesn't really make time for 4 hour round trip visits to the doc. So the only solution is to beg him to move his practice, or be our doctor via Skype.. Totally worth it if you ask me.

(Despite telling me that I'm all checked in) 4-5 families came after we arrived, yet got to see their doctor before we were called. I thought that perhaps they accidentally double booked or there was an emergency going on in the back. Nope, it was none of those reasons!! When our name was called I expressed my frustration to the nurse who was really rude back despite it being their staff's fault for the error. Note to that nurse: if it's your clinic's fault, you need to learn to shut your mouth and accept responsibility!! The nurse finally explained that no one checked us in!!! I couldn't believe this!! I arrived early because I respected their time, but they lack of respect for my time. On top of that, I had a conference call that I needed to join, but this error caused me to miss work. Is it fair that I was unable to do my job because they can't do their job??? I give them 1 star, and this is only because Dr. Long is nice and we have been going to her for 8 years. This will be the last time our family goes to the happy valley clinic. Their staff is unprofessional and ignorant. They are unable to do their job and I really hope Dr. Shah reads this posting and decides to either retrain the support staff or consider hiring professional employees. To the receptionist that didn't check me in... sorry, there's no excuse. We were the ONLY family in the room. Do your damn job and stop surfing the internet and gossiping with other employees!! You are a huge waste of resource!

My child needed a sports physical to be able to try out and participate in a school activity. We had a small window between jobs so we had to get government insurance. They completely refused my child care during that time, we had multiple conversations with Oregon pediatrics as what we needed was a pressing matter, received poor information multiple times. We were told we didn't need it since she had been seen within 2yrs, incorrect, then we waited weeks until we had secured insurance that they took again, and the morning of this long awaited appointment they cancelled the appointment, (after my child had already missed school.) due to the government insurance still showing up on their end even though we had already cancelled it. Absolutely wrong on so many levels. The staff when addressing this issue were VERY unprofessional, adding insult to injury we were called a liar. Unbelievable, we had been loyal to them for YEARS, and to be treated this way is just wild.
