NO. Fast forward to today I call again surprisingly someone answered my call and told me I couldn't make an appointment because my account was marked inactive, I ask her why is it marked inactive she told me basically I wasn't a patient anymore, ok so when was someone going to tell me ? Someone from billing was going to call me back and explain before the office close, you think anyone called back yet ? NO, don't ge me wrong if I missed a few appointments and can't make another that's fine but just let me know before the tooth becomes a bigger problem, I will definitely be calling the Connecticut Dental Assication and the Better Business Bureau tomorrow extremely disappointed.

New Haven Dental Associates did both and booked me in for a quick diagnostic and x-ray work. I rushed over and found they're located in the Chapel Medical Center right in front of St. Raphael's. The entrance is somewhat dodgy - no sign, no indication of what offices are in the building, you have to go in through the back door into a tiny little porch, up two flights of stairs, through a rather empty corridor. But once I walked in the office, I was greeted by two smiling assistants. Everyone I spoke to was extremely kind and helpful - which is a giant plus when you're dealing with major toothache and the world seems like a nasty place. I was promptly seen by Dr. Sripathi who gave me a quick diagnostic, told me how to control the pain before I was able to get a tooth extraction booked, and referred me to the oral surgeon, Dr. Sorrentino, across the hall (literally) because their own surgical schedule was fully booked. A bonus for all 80s lovers out there: the office is decked out in imitation marble cabinets, floors and textured walls, it's supremely cheesy and wonderful.

She also wiggled a tooth out which we were ok with. But she didn't give it time to get numb and it was very painful to my daughter. Concerned, I booked an emergency appointment (which was incredibly expensive) with Dr. Adrienne Tartagni the following day. The appointment seemed routine; they took X-rays, which I didn't expect to reveal anything alarming since I had seen my own dentist back in my home state less than two months prior for an exam and cleaning, as I don't reside permanently in CT. After reviewing the X-rays, Dr. Tartagni performed a hot and cold test on my tooth and abruptly informed me that I needed a root canal. I was surprised because I didn't feel much during the test and mentioned this to her. Looking back, it seemed like she was either guessing or pushing for unnecessary treatment. After being told I needed a root canal, I was taken to the financial office and given an exorbitant out-of-pocket estimate. The news was especially stressful since I am a college student and my dental coverage is in my home state. Ultimately, I sought a second opinion from my dentist back home, who promptly reassured me that my tooth was perfectly fine and that I had narrowly avoided being taken advantage of. Multiple X-rays confirmed this, and other dentists agreed that no treatment was necessary. This happened about a year ago, and today, my tooth feels completely normal and the strange sensation has disappeared. It even felt better a couple of days after the visit, despite the lady working in the financial office saying that the "pain would likely just get worse" if I didn't go through with the procedure. My dentist back in my home state confirmed it was just sensitivity, which I'm confident he was correct about. I believe Dr. Tartagni and her office should feel ashamed for causing such unnecessary stress. While I understand that medical professionals can make mistakes, the entire experience was incredibly frustrating. I often reflect on how fortunate I was to have questioned whether the procedure was truly necessary, especially considering the invasiveness of a root canal. This situation has left me wondering how many others may have been similarly affected by their practices. She took all my x-rays, quickly and fully understood that it is not a pleasant experience. She was upbeat and sympathetic to the fact that no patient enjoys the x-ray experience. She reviewed my old films with me and then went through the new ones talking about areas of concern that she wanted to review with the dentist later in the appt. During the cleaning Crystal made sure that I was ok with the water pic cleaning method, in case I hadn't had it done before. She was gentle, quick and thorough during my cleaning. The best part of the experience was towards the end with the dentist and the hygienist in discussing what to watch for the health of my teeth and that they agreed with me to a conservative approach vs. doing unnecessary work "just in case". I appreciate this the most b/c it shows they care about my health and not just the bottom line. The last best part of the experience is that they have tv's on the wall AND the ceiling - with cable, allowing me to be distracted during the whole appointment which kept me relaxed. I've had dental work done for 30 years, so I'm always a bit nervous about what they will find next, and the tv helped keep my mind from worrying. I recommend heading here for your dental needs.
