One of the doctors at this establishment has 0% trust in a parents judgment or decisions for their kids whenever they are the ones with them 24/7. We were asked to find another office for our kids because we didn't want to do things exactly as recommended by this certain doctor. Which was fine because we were leaving their practice anyway because of obvious differences. She was so rude to us & I don't understand this type of behavior or thinking that parents don't know what's best for their children. If you want to be in charge of your kids health, don't go here.

The front desk, nurses, and doctors are all very kind and thorough. I brought my son here when he was a newborn and they accommodated me with Dr. Heffernan. It was easy and quick to get an appointment. I have always been able to make a same day sick appointment which is so helpful. I love the online portal for questions for the doctor. They respond quickly as well! I've never waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room which is also so nice. The doctors are usually in the room within 5-15 minutes after the nurses have taken their vitals etc. If I have concerns after hours, their after hours line is easy to access and a doctor calls me back right away. I don't feel judged if I have a silly question or call the after hours line with an urgent concern. I would highly recommend this place! There's a reason I've stayed with this practice for so long.

If I could give this place no stars, I would…read more Once doctor told me during an after hours call (and all within the span of our 15 minute conversation) that 1. My daughter was showing signs of SIDS, 2. On second thought, it was probably a seizure and I should take her to the emergency room, 3. No, wait, it's probably no big deal. The next day we went in to see a doctor and found that the experience that had prompted our after hours call was totally normal and the doctor we saw seemed shocked that we'd been told such wildly varied things. Another doctor marked my daughter, at 5 months old, as "obese" on her medical chart and suggested that we limit her breastfeeding so that she wasn't "snacking throughout the day". At this point, breastfeeding was her primary source of nutrition. She also suggested that our daughter sleep outside of our bedroom, though the AAP suggests waiting until at least 6 months. They really pushed the "cry it out" method on us and despite our protests that this wasn't the best option for us, they assured us it was the only option they could recommend. When we brought our daughter in as a newborn to see the lactation specialist, we ended up waiting half an hour while our daughter cried to be nursed because no one bothered to tell her we were waiting and we had been told not to feed the baby until the lactation specialist could be there. When we finally did see her, she told us she had been given a new scale and wasn't sure how it worked. After putting my baby on it and being unable to make it work, she pounded the desk on either side of the scale with her fists in frustration while my daughter lay there inches away. She also offered us a nursing pillow from a pile of them on the dirty floor in the room. In general, no doctors in the practice were willing to listen to our concerns or work with our parenting style. We always felt rushed and left frustrated. We decided on the practice because we loved Dr Ng but we were almost never able to see him and the other doctors on staff were so terrible we ultimately decided to switch to a new practice and have been much happier and visits have been way less stressful ever since.

Our surgeon/Opthamologist is amazing and has seen our daughter for 5 years and has always been clear about the direction we were headed and what to expect regarding her eyes. Our daughter looks forward to her regular appts with Dr. Schwartz (so good with kiddos as is her staff!)And this morning she did a great job making mom and dad more comfortable. Every employee was wonderful with our daughter and with us... our pre surgery nurse was wonderful with our girl. She let Sandy take her heartbeat, she got her a necklace set, crayons and more and she talked to her.. directly and assisted in easing her fears. Thank you Pamela.. you are appreciated! I feel bad, as I can't recall her name, but the nurse/assistant that took us to the operating room made it so fun by having our daughter wave her best princess wave and EVERY employee that saw her waved back with enthusiasm!! Terrific job easing a little ones fears. Dr Jack (can't make out his last name in pic- sorry) the anesthesiologist, was awesome. Unfortunately, he ended up having to "help" our stubborn daughter with the gas. It wasn't fun but it got the job done and he was professional, kind and empathetic (with our kiddo and us). After the surgery, our surgeon gave us a container with one of her teeth as it was loose and had to be pulled and there was also a 1$ bill. The anesthesiologist asked the surgeon if she was disappointed to find out who the tooth fairy was and how he looked... lol... ‍ thank you so much... comedic relief is awesome! Your confidence made the hard part.... less hard. MY DAUGHTER... just woke up and cried a bit recalling sedation but she was SO HAPPY that the Dr. didn't do the mask initially... just the tub and she is so grateful (I didn't understand why it was done that way initially, but now I obviously do... my daughter hates any type of restraint... he obviously caught on to that. The desk of nurses that man the surgery area were awesome also... we sat close to them so we saw many interactions... friendly, helpful, and just a pleasure to see people that seem to enjoy their work a great deal. Finally, we were shocked by how quick we could leave... our discharge nurse was... surprise... awesome... friendly, helpful, and made us feel more comfortable with what we will deal with in the days to come. Terrific job to everyone at Children's!! Her post op appt was terrific and everything looks great. #cincinnatichilsrenahospital #thankful
