I cannot say enough good things about Hyde Park peds. We've had the chance to see every doctor at the practice and each one is fabulous. They are extremely patient, friendly, thorough, and they really go above and beyond at every appointment. We even had one doctor catch a few mistakes from our prior pediatrician - shout out to Dr. O'Bryan! I've never had an issue getting a same day sick visit and we've never waited more than 5 minutes to be seen. 5 stars! read more

If I could give this place no stars, I would. Once doctor told me during an after hours call (and all within the span of our 15 minute conversation) that 1. My daughter was showing signs of SIDS, 2. On second thought, it was probably a seizure and I should take her to the emergency room, 3. No, wait, it's probably no big deal. The next day we went in to see a doctor and found that the experience that had prompted our after hours call was totally normal and the doctor we saw seemed shocked that we'd been told such wildly varied things. Another doctor marked my daughter, at 5 months old, as "obese" on her medical chart and suggested that we limit her breastfeeding so that she wasn't "snacking throughout the day". At this point, breastfeeding was her primary source of nutrition. She also suggested that our daughter sleep outside of our bedroom, though the AAP suggests waiting until at least 6 months. They really pushed the "cry it out" method on us and despite our protests that this wasn't the best option for us, they assured us it was the only option they could recommend. When we brought our daughter in as a newborn to see the lactation specialist, we ended up waiting half an hour while our daughter cried to be nursed because no one bothered to tell her we were waiting and we had been told not to feed the baby until the lactation specialist could be there. When we finally did see her, she told us she had been given a new scale and wasn't sure how it worked. After putting my baby on it and being unable to make it work, she pounded the desk on either side of the scale with her fists in frustration while my daughter lay there inches away. She also offered us a nursing pillow from a pile of them on the dirty floor in the room. In general, no doctors in the practice were willing to listen to our concerns or work with our parenting style. We always felt rushed and left frustrated. We decided on the practice because we loved Dr Ng but we were almost never able to see him and the other doctors on staff were so terrible we ultimately decided to switch to a new practice and have been much happier and visits have been way less stressful ever since. read more

We really WANTED to like these doctors; they seem like pleasant people and capable (as far as we could tell). But they seemed a little too complacent about everything: our daughter's head shape, her twin sister's cough/asthma, their slight verbal delay, etc. Our earlier D.C. area pediatrician wasn't a panicky guy by any means, but we felt that he took our concerns seriously (even though nothing made him extra money) and, well, cared. These folks had a "we've seen it all before and it's not a big deal" attitude. That's great for them; these are not their children. For some of these things, intervention at an early point is important, so this attitude felt uncaring. I might have thought that it was solely our opinion, but other friends who had gone there independently (before we knew them) offered the same analysis (and changed docs). Then, in our last appointment as we were leaving Cincinnati, one of the doctor's casually told us that one of our 2-year-olds "formally failed the autism test". I asked what steps we should take to get her diagnosed, and possibly get help, and once again the doc was very nonchalant with her suggestions. I was momentarily panicked -- until everyone we knew (incl. 3 experienced pre-school teachers) calmly told us that our girl was clearly not autistic, just a little shy. Perhaps the doc felt the same way, which is why she was so nonchalant -- but if a doctor is even going to mention THAT diagnosis, she should be prepared to be more supportive! read more

I hate to give this place a negative review, because there are some nice things about it, but I've had a negative experience nearly every time I've brought my kids here. We always, ALWAYS have to wait in the exam room for the doctor to show--for over an hour on two occasions. The office staff, while they're nice enough, just don't really work very efficiently, and this often requires more waiting, filling out forms that have already been submitted, rescheduling or shuffling appointments, and even more waiting. Typically, going to the doctor for whatever reason is an unnerving experience for a kid. At Hyde Park Peds, they haven't really figured out how to eliminate some of the irksome elements so that the inevitable unpleasantries don't seem quite so bad. read more

We have four kids, all under the care of Dr. Ng. Dr Ng visited us at Christ Hospital within a day of each child's birth to meet with us and to assess the child. He's personally watched each of them grow and managed their medical care since birth. My wife and I have been superbly pleased with Dr. Ng and the staff at Hyde Park Pediatrics for more than 13 years now. We have met with all of the doctors over those years many times. They are extremely accommodating to emergency scheduling and have always been friendly, helpful, and professional. read more

The staff are always helpful. Dr. Sorger always takes time to talk to us and is very knowledgeable. The office is always clean and organized. read more

Being a first time mom I was obviously lost in the world of babies. Hyde Park Pediatrics serviced at Christ Hospital where I gave birth to my baby boy. I was lucky enough to meet Dr. Ng on such short notice. He's a great doctor with a sense of humor and helped guide us through of trial and errors. We visited the office a couple days later to check up on his jaundice. All the nurses, front desk, other doctors were great. I'm glad I found this place!! read more

My fiance and I are currently in the process of adopting a baby boy. We were missed informed and told we had to take him to the office the birth mother wanted and just recently switched to Hyde Park Pediatric wish we could have been here since his birth they are amazing. It's just the little things that they probably don't even think about but they a huge impact on me and made it such a great experience. With covid they have you call when you arrive and check you in while you're in your car. The last office had us waiting in the heat and waiting room with a 2 month old I had concerns about him in the heat and around so many people. Here you only interact with who you absolutely need to. Also Hyde Park Pediatric referred to me as mom the whole visit which I loved the last office was also questioning my relationship to my baby Hyde Park Pediatric acknowledged that even though I didn't give birth to him he is my son. Another thing I loved is they give you a little book with their growth progression and stated when the adoption is finalized they will even give me a new one with his name change. Dr. Taylor Gilbert took time to really listen to me and answer any problems or concerns. Wonderful practice. read more

Some of the doctors at this practice are great like Dr Ng himself, but some are not so great like Dr Jones. I would totally avoid her. She pushes vaccines and shots a lot, and gives "arguments" to support her case (and tries to scare you). I saw her twice and every time she tried to "sell" me on giving a shot to my child. The last one was the flu shot, and how there are many children who got sick in the city and even two who went to the emergency room. We are in October, of course many kids get a cold and even adults! Two in the emergency room... any parent who panics at night/ on a weekend or does not have an insurance may go to the emergency room. Why would anyone give a healthy child a flu shot? they get sick and build their immune system. It is a cold, not a disease! Flu shots and many drugs are pushed by doctors and pharmaceuticals to make money and more money. Dr Jones is particularly pushy about this.. I did not get this from any of the other 3-4 doctors I saw at Hyde Park Pediatrics. The staff at the Kenwood location are very friendly, and again Dr Ng is wonderful. The other doctors are ok. read more

Cali Matheny, Dr. Ng, their lactation counsultant and staff have been very helpful from pre-birth through 6 months. I needed a prescription refill because I left it with family out of town over the Easter weekend- they called 1 in the pharmacy right away and then called to tell us they had done it-- I'd say it took less than 15 minutes-- pretty surprising too me (I'm a pharmacist so I know some doctors don't call in refills for nearly a week or hours in an emergency). The lactation consultant made many helpful hints on feeding, pumping and getting the right latch. Dr. Matheny makes many recommendation that are evidence based and also others I find to be helpful for my son's development into being increasing more independent: reminding us to read to him 20 minutes a day, where to find easy to eat foods like peanut puffs to introduce allergens early on when evidence shows it helps prevent future allergies, which sunscreens to use to avoid chemicals that have a great potential for side effects. We have always been able to schedule appointments early in the day and convenient for our schedule. I have had some confusion about which office to plug into my GPS since their 2 offices are close to each other, but its never resulted in problems. I always figure it out and we always go to the office off Erie-- I have overheard issues other folks have had when they have shown up to the wrong place-- so this may be a place to re-brand the office names to avoid confusion or perhaps a step in scheduling to assure people know to go to the right office. I say this as a quality improvement step that may help others, while so far it has not been an issue for me. read more

Some of the nurses have been friendly and a few of the doctors also. My overall feeling there was a number..... punch them through and on to the next customer. If you are looking for any type of alternative medicine options and input THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! I wanted to explore options on holistic medicine and alternative vaccination schedules. They wanted to place my child on the cookie cutter schedule for everything. He wasn't looked at as an individual. The doctors didn't seem open to discuss risk factors and other things that impact vaccines and other methods of treatment. Every time I wanted to discuss alternative options they would resort to scare tactics of telling me horrific stories about babies dying. None of the information was gathered through education or statistics. It was sharing of friends stories without knowing the background. As a first time mother I was given no guidance on their part. I felt like I was always in trouble or being a bad mother. I wasn't given directions on how to take care of a circumcised baby! But they when I brought him in because I noticed something wasn't right they made me feel horrible! I always felt rushed out and not heard. NO education on vaccinations. They couldn't answer any questions about them nor would they push me in the correct direction. They seemed annoyed that I wanted to be educated and work with them in what was best for my child. read more

We moved to Cincinnati and were recommended Hyde Park Pediatrics for a pediatrician. We had 3 wellness visits and have been very frustrated. My son was told that he would not need any more immunizations until he was 11, then his last wellness visit, was told he would one more shot. My son, who has sensory processing issues, was cowering under the chairs for the whole visit because he was so afraid. Dr. Jones treated him like he was being silly and made him do the whole visit while being upset. I wish they would have either gone ahead and had the shot, then the wellness visit or not told him about it until the end. Additionally, during this visit we had blood test results that needed to be discussed. I let them know when we arrived, yet during the appointment they did not have the records ready and were not able to fully access some of them. This made the appointment an hour and a half... just for a wellness visit. This was the last straw for us. We have switched to Queen City Physicians. read more

When the doctor who we had seen for years left, the practice was totally unprofessional and did not send a letter out notifying patients. In a effort to find another PCP within the practice, we have seen several and some of the doctors are clueless. Billing is outrageous. The nurse practioner, while excellent, is billed at the same rate as a doctor ($180). read more

Before I start my review, it's important to note that my Yahoo handle is "ConsumerFromHell". I have no qualms about skewering a company, service, restaurant, or hospital. That being said, I also believe in giving credit where credit is due. My wife and I have been taking our children to Hyde Park Pediatrics since they were born and we could not be more pleased with our experiences. The staff is always friendly and courteous and there is a genuine concern for the health and well being of our children. Our children's physician, Dr. Kara Ryan is hands down the most wonderful person we could have ever chosen! I don't think we could find a more caring and decent doctor if we searched the four corners of the world. Every time we have an appointment or check up with her, we spend the time on the ride home singing her praises. She is the on call physician this weekend and I needed to speak with her. I left a message with their answering service and no sooner had I hung up the phone, Dr. Ryan called back with her ever sweet and cheerful demeanor. She really makes us feel like we are her only patients! We can't say enough about her. She's the best! read more
