We have a newborn and have been three times to the office. Each time we arrive there are at least 4-5 people milling about behind the reception desk. Checking-in is an easy process but the personnel do not seem to know how to do anything else or even what the others in the office are doing. It was annoying but manageable and we put up with it for the first few visits because of the ease of getting in and out of the office. Although I was upset that on our first visit they forgot to ask for our insurance and sent us a ridiculous bill. This most recent time was the straw that broke the camels back. We were on our way for our son's 4-month visit and called to inform them that we were running a bit late but that we would be there as soon as we could because we were dealing with traffic from the down bridge. I called 10 minutes before our apt time and told them that we would be, at most, 15 minutes behind. Lady on the phone put me on hold three times and for over 15 minutes. We were less than 5 minutes away when she was finally able to talk to the doctor who told her to tell us, that despite us being so close and her STILL BEING WITH ANOTHER PATIENT (the one scheduled for before us!!) that we would need to reschedule and that she would not see us. She was not willing to push our apt back and see another patient before us. The lady on the phone was incredibly rude when we asked why and what the policy was for being late and simply kept repeating that it was based on "the time of the appointment and the time we checked in" but would not answer anything else. We have never seen a doctor there for a visit that has taken even 15 minutes. We simply wanted to get our son his vaccinations and be in and out. I understand that doctors can be busy but things happen. If they had simply said that they had a policy of making one reschedule if they were 20 or more minutes late then we would have understood. Instead, their policy seems to be at the whim of the office personnel. Having to be on hold for over 15 minutes and almost there just to be told that we need to reschedule is incredibly rude and inconsiderate of our time. If they had said that before we got most of the way there then that would have been fine. We are going to be switching to a different pediatrician due to this rude behavior.

We were with Pediatric Partners for nearly four years before an out-of-state move forced us to find…read morea new pediatrician. This is a wonderful practice with excellent doctors who truly care about the welfare of your child, and I highly, highly recommend them to anyone searching for a pediatrician in the NKY area. They are associated with St. Elizabeth Edgewood and Children's Hospital in Cincinnati. This is a three-doctor practice, and each doctor is personable and knowledgeable, but they each have a very different style and personality, and so I think the practice could appeal to many different types of parents (and varied parenting styles). We specifically saw Dr. Cahill, who saw us through the birth of our first and second child, through illnesses, injuries, and check-ups. She was never rushed with us, we always felt we could ask as many questions as necessary and take up as much of her time as we needed. She was calming when my wife was stressed, filled with wonderful advice for a new mother, and was accepting (though not supportive) of our alternative vaccination schedule. I feel she truly got to know my children. In addition, the staff is warm and affectionate with the children, they are very good about getting sick and/or injured children in same-day without appointments (call ahead to avoid an additional fee and longer wait-time), and they have an after-hours answering service where you can call and leave a message if you have a serious health concern, and the doctor-on-call will get back to you within an hour. My wife used this service several times as a nervous new mother, and no matter which doctor was on-call, they always responded promptly, were extremely helpful, and never made her feel that she was putting them out or being silly by calling after hours. My ONLY complaint is that, because they are so good about seeing sick children same-day, because they do make regular rounds at the hospital, and because they don't rush through appointments but talk through parental concerns, the wait to see the doctor was always very long. I understand why it is long, but I feel it does deserve mention. My wife always tried to get the first appointment of the day to avoid the wait, but even so, we often had to wait longer than we expected to see a doctor. I did not deduct a star for this because, frankly, I feel the service and care my children received was worth the wait.

It is with a heavy heart that I do not recommend Ped Care. I have been with the practice since I…read morewas born and I'm 42. My siblings have been with this practice and I have 6 kids who all have been with this. Total years 50+ The doctors used to have control over their practice and over the past couple of years have lost it. The doctors gave all power over to their Office Manager who is NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL. She does not communicate to the doctors properly what you have said. It's an absolute nightmare. "You just have a fussy baby" Trish Tolman said to me after I requested an appointment and was denied. Come to find out my now 2 year old son is severely allergic to dairy. I was also told by a doctor there he had eczema when it was truly hives. Confirmed by Children's. The practice claims to take care of the whole child but they fail to properly take care of children who have mental health needs. The staff and some doctors do not understand mental health and how medication affect the body or lack of medication. Or how abruptly stopping therapy affects the child. The most office staff are HORRIBLE. We are usually in the Covington location and drive from Union to have stayed with this practice. There is one who works there who is nice. The office staff DO NOT HOLD MEDICAL DEGREES. I want to speak directly to my children's doctor so the message is given to him correctly. At least get an appointment and speak about the concerns. But that's not possible. This Practice is about making money not about your child's well being. If this practice was like when Dr. James Kelly ran it, it would still be great. This practice has lost the vision of founder Dr. James Kelly. Truly sad. Dr. Kelly would have never given his practice up to money or his staff.

Please, please, please consider Eastern Hills Pediatrics for your little one!…read more Back story: I used a different Pediatrician for my daughter for the two months of her life. I was criticized by this doctor and really felt like I was failing as a Mom. She didn't appreciate that I preferred to pump since my little one wouldnt latch. She also mixed up a food allergy with a skin allergy. Fast Forward: I met Nancy Brashear with Eastern Hills Pediatrics at a local baby expo. Nancy immediately took me under her wing and reassured me that I was doing great (first time mom) and that my baby was medically perfect! Nancy and the staff gave a wonderful first impression! I called right away to schedule an appointment and was in right away, they now accept most if not all insurance- awesome! It's a little complicated to find (building behind Mercy Anderson, 3rd floor) but once you're inside, you know it's the place you want to treat your child. Extremely clean and bright, sick vs well areas, tons of educational literature for parents and fun toys for kiddos. The exam rooms have very classy themes and the furniture is top notch. The nurses are all very nice and professional. Appointments are always quick yet thorough. I cannot praise Nancy Brashear enough. She has uplifted me from complete meltdowns in office regarding my baby's health. She's always a phone call away, which I've utilized and she has personally left me voicemails regarding results from important tests. I've also called the nurse hotline a few times and they always call back right away and give me the correct answer for my little one. I've also had Dr. Furby when Nancy wasn't available: he is a very smart, thorough Doctor. Plus, what kid doesn't love getting a sticker at the end of their appointment? They never run out ;)

Last 3 children have been healthy, and I slacked on their physicals. We were dropped from the practice, which was understandable. However, we received no communication telling us that we no longer had a doctor. We didn't find out until an emergency situation when the doctor's refused treatment and told us to go elsewhere. To me this showed a lack of integrity, trust and what about that hippocratic oath? This instance showed a huge lack of professionalism.
