Wow, great experience.
I really like old militaryships which have been turned into museums. The frigate can be visited almost completely. You can go down to the engine, see the crews cabins, kitchens, officers and crew rooms and of course the bridge and the weapons. Only few areas are locked. In some of the rooms, there are exhibitions, explaining the time when the ship was on duty as well as the cold war. You can touch almost everything including the machine gun, the 40mm canon. There are very kind and helpful gentleman going around to answer questions and explain the ship.
With the ticket (only 130 DKK), you can also visit the torpedo-boat as well as the submarine and the crane-tower.
I really enjoyed the visit, it was the best experience I made in a warship-museum. And the people are so nice. Due to technical difficulties, the credit-card reader was out of service for a while. Instead of making trouble or complaining that I have no cash, the man in the ticket-office just gave me the ticket and let me pay later, when the reader was working again. What an excellent service!
You can go there by car (parking for free), by bus (Line 9A, station Fabrikmestervej) or by harbour bus (line 991 and 992, station Refshalevej) read more
