They aren't just any kind of boarding place that just wants to take your money, they actually care for your dog and play with your dog! Tragic. I would give a negative star if I could. Took my dog…read moreto them for more than a year, no problem. Then, after a routine 6-week grooming, I picked him up. I notice he had a small tuft of hair on his tail that looked odd, but I just figured he had nipped at an itch. I was not told of anything happening during his session and even called, once I notice it was bothering him, to see if maybe a new shampoo had been used that was causing irritation or other dogs were having reactions to something. I was assured nothing different had occurred during his grooming. I was never expecting what came next. Two days later his tail had become super irritated and was losing fur due to his chewing on it. A couple of more days of his not responding to anti-itch meds and a cone, and I went to my vet. She discovered his tail had a 'guillotine' cut at his base, where the tuft had been, and the blood vessels were severed, like something heavy had dropped/shut on it. His tail was dying. After daily treatment, meds, and artificial skin attempts he literally ate his tail. $1500 later and major trauma to my pet and my family, he is recovering now with a bobbed tail. Throughout this entire devastating experience, the groomers never admitted to the chance that something happened during the grooming and at one point suggested I might have shut his tail in my vehicle's door! Really?!! All I know is that he went in as usual: beautiful, happy, and healthy. He came out with a dying tail.

She listened to our concerns and even watched a small video we took of our dog. She was concerned and recommended we get an X-ray if we wanted. She was not pushy. She just said we need peace of mind that it's not something else. She was right. Our little guy had bladder stones and one stuck in his urethrae. She called in the surgeon, Dr. Don Schmidt. He rearranged his schedule and got our boy straight in for surgery. We didn't have to take him someplace else or wait another day. That was so nice. He had his appointment at 2pm then surgery shortly afterwards and we had him in our arms by 6:30. I'm so impressed with them. Also, we asked for a refill from a previous vet on some anxiety medicine for him. Dr. Baker was like, no problem. She told us to order it through Chewy since they didn't have it in stock and we needed it quickly for the fireworks coming in a few days. She said she would take care of it on her end and give authorization to Chewy when they called. The only thing I was kind of disappointed about was the tension at the front desk when we checked out. There could have been better customer service there. But overall we were happy with the service and the amount of care from the vets. Update: When we got home a few hours later, our dog was wincing in pain. We gave him some of the meds the doctor gave us but he still winced terribly. We had to take him to the ER and leave him overnight to get a slow drip of pain meds. Update -2 weeks later- Midnight is doing so well. He seems like he has gotten two years knocked off his age. He's getting around like a spring chicken. We went back to get stitches out and the staff was excellent. The front desk staff took time to talk to me about my dogs, and Dr. Baker met with me and discussed what we need to do for Midnight going forward. She wrote it all down for me so I could look over my options. I am very pleased and will return.

Recently saw Dr Webb for my dog. First experience with her and she followed all my recommendations for testing. My dog ended up going to ER the next day and had to be admitted. No one from Good shepherd followed up with me the following week, even though the ER had sent them the hospitalization summary. On Tuesday, I called to tell the front desk my dog had not eaten anything g since at least Sunday, Requesting a vet call me to discuss options. She acted like I had asked her how to fly a plane--totally lost. I called again and spoke with someone at the front desk. This is now 4 days since my dog has not eaten and asked for a vet to call. This is now Thursday and not call from anyone! Very, very disappointing.

They start getting excited when they see landmarks through the car windows on the way to Camp and it's hard to hold them back once we get to Camp Bow Wow's door. They come home really tired, which is a good thing! We love that they have webcams so we can watch the dogs on our phones while traveling. Super disappointed. Went there 3 weeks ago for a yeast infection in my dogs ear. That visit was…read more$262. I had to schedule a follow up visit that was just supposed to be ear follow up and 2 vaccines that my dog was due. First of all they have 3 receptionists and it took a ridiculous amount of time to check in. Then the receptionist brought in a piece of paper with literally 10 things on it and gave me an "estimate" of well over $500! I was like my dog was here 3 weeks ago and this should just be his vaccines and a follow up. After narrowing it down the cost would be $250. Ok fine. I did decide to add a fecal test after the fact when I looked at my digs records and saw he was due one. Get to the register after the visit and they start going thru everything I was being charged for. One of those things was the flu vaccine (which by the way is sneakily called CIV and was not explained to me prior to consent). I did NOT want my dog to have that vaccine and of course it was $50. My total was $380! For a follow up on his ear and his yearly vaccines. This place seems to be going in an unethical direction and I'm so very disappointed. The vets are great but this is shady.

My daughter stated that when she dropped her off that morning around 8:00am she was fine, her normal 13 year old self. Walking, riding in the car, looking out the window, and breathing normal. Her dog was scheduled to get her rabies shot, a bath, and nail trim. During her time there the staff told my daughter that she needed her ears cleaned. She said ok, do it. When she picked her up she was told that they had to have several people hold her down to trim her nails. I'm sure that was also true about cleaning her ears as she hasn't had that done often. When her dog was walking to the car after being there she walked very sluggish kind of like she was drunk. She asked if they gave her anything to make her feel/act like that. They said no. She couldn't jump on the back of the car like she did on her way there. My daughter had to pick her 83lb dog up and put her in the back of her SUV. She drove home, with her whining with every bump the car hit. My daughter had her husband look at her, he said she's not good and to take her back to the vet. So that's what she did. The vet came out and looked at the dog, and kept telling her she's just old and this maybe the end just to take her home and see how she does. He padded her on the back and said I'm sorry. He did suggest a couple things like give her electrolytes. I was on the phone listening to their entire conversation. She asked if there was anything they could give her to help her. He said well we can take her back in and draw blood and see what's wrong, but that's going to cost more money. (WHAT?!??) My thoughts were you guys did this to her dog, and that's what you tell my daughter, either pay more money to figure out what YOUR CLINIC did to my daughters dog, or take her home and see if she lives or dies. Well not really knowing what to do she took her home, tried to give her electrolytes, because that's one thing the vet did say to try. She was so upset that my husband and I went over there. Her dog was literally laying on the floor on her side breathing very deep and slow like she was going to die any second. We managed to get a few syringes of Gatorade in her, and she wouldn't take any more. She wouldn't eat anything. I read online that if we couldn't get her to eat and drink she would definitely die, so we continued to try, and she wouldn't. Thank God we have my other daughter who works at a different clinic in a different town, and I called her to get her opinion, she said she definitely need fluids, so she came over and gave her a bag of fluids. Along with that my daughter called Ark clinic back and just gave them an ear full, after that call they told her they would give her 2 meds for her for free. She got the meds and after she saw that she was doing a little better after receiving the bag of fluids she gave her the meds. It took her 3 days to come back from the vet visit at Ark. I normally only write reviews if they are positive, but this is something others need to know if they have an older dog. Older dogs can't endure having a lot done to them like the younger dogs can. It totally stressed my daughter's dog out so bad that if she hadn't been given that bag of fluids, we would have lost her, all because of a vet visit that was supposed to help her.
