I live in the DFW area, but at least three times a year my business takes me to Wichita Falls or on to Amarillo. That means my stomach is complaining because it's breakfast time just as I hit the Henrietta area. I first stopped at The Pecan Shed three-four years ago and had the most amazing breakfast burrito. I thought it took a little long to make this jewel, but then I realized they didn't start until I placed my order. It was huge, hot, fresh and tasty. I certainly got my money's worth. Now I stop every trip to grab breakfast, and on the way home I stop to grab a burger. They have a ton of trinkets, swag, souvenirs, even outdoor furniture, and the cleanest restrooms. But most importantly, on my most recent trip I found they sold Savory Fine Foods Party Cracker Seasoning. I bought four different flavors, so now I have the most tasty crackers whenever I want. I know, I know, it doesn't sound like much, but you're wrong. Clearly, I'm going to have to hit Henrietta more than three times a year. read more

This little gem in Henrietta, TX, has the most amazing pecan assortment you've ever seen!! You can't eat just one! The hamburgers were perfect and of course we had pecan ice cream. Lots of unique Texas gifts, Texas wines, freshly made fudge and other yummy things to eat. It's also a gas station and has very clean restrooms. Horrible costumer service especially Andrew! Wow what a jerk! I will never ever support or buy anything here. Let me go in to use restroom and I was going to buy a lot of stuff! They started acting like they were cleaning up and I asked if they were closing he replied no it's no problem... I get my stuff go to the check out and say I'll go get my husband who was watching our kids in the car and getting gas so he can come in and get this stuff. His reply no, I said excuse me? No can't let you back in or anyone else in because we're closed? It'll take what 30 seconds tops but... no. Honestly I wish some people still had some southern hospitality! He definitely didn't. There were not a lot of places to stop near here and I'm glad we made it to the pecan shed. My husband and I split their two sandwiches (pulled bbq & grilled cheese) both delicious! We also tried two of their ice cream flavors - yum! We had fun walking around and trying all of their brittle, dipped pecans, and fudge samples. The bathrooms were very clean. We stopped by for drinks during a road trip today and are happy that we did! This is a great little store. Not just a gas station (though it looks like one is right next door). They had some commercial snacks but also a ton of specialty items: candy, nuts, butters (hi, amaretto pecan butter!), pickled items (we tried the asparagus and it was awesome!), and they also have a small bakery which offers a variety of fudge as well as cookies and slices of pie. Other than food they sell home decor, t-shirts, purses, candles and jewelry. And not hokey stuff - this stuff is nice! As it is close to the holidays they were selling ornaments and Christmas decor, too. They also have Texas bumper stickers, magnets, ornaments, etc. I planned to just get a drink but we walked out with a couple of bumper stickers, a couple pieces of pie, a tube of Naked Bee hand sanitizer, and a couple of decorative hand towels for my parents for their RV. And our drinks =) Oh and they had some AWESOME rocking chairs for sale out front. read more

Cool spot to stop along the way to get coffee and some pecans. They are right next to a gas station too. Home made fudge, trinkets to buy for people visiting looking for souveneirs. Always a stop off visiting child at MSU Wichita Falls. Staff is ALWAYS friendly, building and grounds neat, CLEAN RESTROOMS and the pecans are THE BEST! Many little gifts available to purchase as well as artisan patio chairs and grills. I'll let you in on a secret....TRY THE HAMBURGERS HERE!!!! Burger, drink, chips if I recall on our last trip was like seven bucks. THE BURGER IS FANTASTIC!!! And the two ladies who were working in the grill/fried pie/fudge area were so friendly. Good place to stop on long car trip between Colorado and south TX. Pleasant break. Good grill items, real grill hamburgers and grilled chicken. Staff could not be nicer and friendlier. Gas station stop too. So pit stop, gas, browse shop and get lunch. Grill is open until 8:30. Right on hwy. 287. Easy off and on. The extensive samples are fabulous. Cures your sweet tooth needs by samples. Such a huge variety! Sweet, salty, jalepeno, cinnamon etc. Have 2 kinds if brittle- pecan and peanut. I was told all the pecan come from the family orchards just north of here on the river. They shop worldwide. Bought 2 bags for Grandaddy. And plain pecans for us. Nice bathrooms. Decorated like Buckees So you can find all kinds of gifts. Even pickled asparagus spears! Sit outside on picnic bench. Give this place a try!! We are glad we did! read more

We sampled some fudge on a tray in the middle of the store, which was good. We were discussing buying some fudge for the four of us, and possibly a pound or two of pecans. Then we noticed that the young redheaded man at the counter was wearing a confederate flag ball cap.
