This was a very fun stop off of 287 south heading back to Fort Worth. If you are in the mood for sweets while on a road trip, this is your place to stop! Noted for its many different varieties of pecan delights, I went for something different at the bakery- the fudge & cookies. If you've ever had the fudge at a Buc-cees, you'll really love the fudge here. The Pecan Shed offers two additional pieces free for every four pieces that you purchase. So pretty much for $16 plus tax, you get six quality pieces of so delicious fudge that would complement just about any beverage while traveling. Customer service here is really, really good. Everyone that worked here genuinely seemed to enjoy working here. Will certainly return!

The Pecan Shed is a great stop. Super friendly staff, neat items to purchase, and clean bathrooms. Check them out if you're in the area. Driving through, make this your pit stop.

Not bad but the drink selection is very limited. Hot coffee and 1 small cooler of drinks including beer. They have a lot of expensive merch.def overpriced. Bathroom is clean. They have pecan pies and fudge. Also unbranded gas

Nice place for a quick stop. Clean bathrooms. Easy access off the highway. Pecans, pecans and more Texas pecans. BOGO specials on the spiced pecans. Also check out their local cheeses. The Fischer's Meat Market smoked cheddar is delicious.

Chocolate Toffee Pecans, cheap but not cheap tasting!

I love this place! Every time we are in or passing through Wichita Falls, we stop for snacks and restrooms! The folks here are down home nice and will always enjoy talking to you. They have the most unusual food items, today I saw Blueberry Jalapeño Preserves. Uh yum! They also have Muenster, TX cheeses in their fridge section! What!!!

We had a scheduled group tour (the only way you can get a tour) today and arrived quite a bit early…read moreout of anticipation for heavy traffic. But there is a fun playground set up by the calves which meant we got first dibs on the hay slide! The calves knew visitors meant feeding time and were licking us, just waiting for that wonderful milk bottle to be given to them. Our guide was amazing, taking time to answer every one of our questions thoroughly. She showed us the stalls where the dairy cows feed, relax and stay cool, the water washout that cleans the stalls, the milking stations, and even let us practice our milking skills on a model cow. She explained that the cows are milked every 12 hours so our tour not only fell outside of their normal schedule, but they wouldn't be comfortable having strangers milk them. Which is why we practiced on a model, still very cool. Totally understandable, we want the cows to continue producing their delicious milk for all to enjoy! We learned that raw milk, not pasteurized, is actually better since the vitamins and nature's goodness haven't been heated out. After tasting the raw milk, it tastes SO delicious. They aren't selling commercially anymore and can only sell straight from their farm, so if you happen to want fresh milk, ice cream or other locally made farm foods, visit their store on site! Be sure to bring cash or Venmo. My family enjoyed today's tour and recommend everyone support our local dairy farmers at Circle N Dairy :)

Circle N is a small family owned and operated raw milk dairy. Because Texas prohibits the sale of…read moreraw milk in stores, Circle N exclusively sells their milk and milk products at their on-site shop. There you can purchase raw milk by the pint or gallon (they have chocolate and strawberry too!), as well as dairy like cheese, cream, yogurt, sour cream and ice cream. The store also sells items from other local vendors: things like honey, sausage, and nuts. The milk is fresh, delicious, and very reasonably priced ($5.00 a gallon for white). Coming from California, where stores do sell raw milk but it's like $14 a gallon, I was shocked at the price Circle N was able to offer theirs. I wish we lived closer so I could make it part of my regular weekly shopping! The main attraction for us was the dairy tour, which is offered for $7 a person (under 2 is free). There is no set schedule for tours so you need to contact the dairy in advance to schedule one. The tour was incredibly informative and so much fun! We got to see where they milk the cows and how they flush out the barns. We learned about the silo, how they feed and care for the cows, and even got to give the calves a bottle! The tour ended with a half pint sample of the raw milk (a much more generous portion than I expected!). The only thing I wish we could have seen is a cow actually being milked. I had been on another dairy tour previously where we had the chance to see the mechanical milking and it was really neat, but this was at a much larger dairy, where the milking happened almost constantly throughout the day. At Circle N, the milking only happens twice a day (2:30a and 2:30p), so it makes sense that we weren't able to see it happening. Michelle, the owner and tour guide, was wonderful. She made us feel very welcome and was patient to answer all our questions. We packed a lunch and ate it at the covered picnic tables they leave open to the public. This is an outstanding destination for a homeschool coop, or even just a fun activity for the family. Cash or check only. Bring a cooler - you'll want to take home some of this milk!

Going to a farmers market you go with an expectation that you are getting local grown products,…read moreright? Well, today I saw that is a lie, I'm paying a farmers market price mark up for the same berries and things I could walk across the street and get at the big name grocery store. As I stood there in awe watching the girl take the strawberries from the plastic containers "from California" on the side- great from the poison insecticide place I was trying to avoid- and putting them into cute baskets to charge me 350% more I guess I will stop believing this is local and just go to the grocery store. This was really sad to see this place isn't shooting local farmers and selling local produce just the same stuff you can find at the store for less and get the same insecticide sprayed produce at less cost. There are some local products (honey and canned goods) but the produce and things are straight from the grocery store and made to "look" local.
