Stop in to see what they had on the way to Dallas. Great products for sale. Lots of different sizes of pecans Bags. Shelled, unshelled, and halve shelled bags of pecans. The fudge bar is very diverse in flavors. I love the plain pecan choco fudge 1/4 pounder squares for $8.00 each. Got to Dallas and wanted to eat a slice of fudge after supper and the very first bit was two small but very sharp shells were mixed in the fudge. I got one spit out but the second stuck between two teeth. Very uncomfortable till I could get the shell dislodged. Ok maybe the was just a fluke... No! The next day my next slice i ut in my mouth to just let it melt, and a few more shells appeared. So we threw both of our fudges away. So now IF we stop again we'll get different snacks that are wrapped in commercial packages and it says Hershey on it. But the store had cute things to look at or buy!!! read more

This is one of our favorite road-trip stops! The bathrooms (and entire store) is super clean. The employees are all friendly and welcoming. There are delicious free samples and the pecans are reasonably priced. We just tried the hamburger and it was way better than a fast food burger. Be sure to try the ice-cream. We passed by it on our way to Dallas and knew we needed to stop before we head back home. As soon as we walked in the door we were greated. It's definitely a tourist stop but it a cute set up. We stopped because Diesel was cheaper than anywhere else we saw from Waco to Amarillo and on top of the gas they had AMAZING BBQ sandwiches, ice cream, fudge and of course pecans! Awesome gas station, bakery, and souvenir shop. The bathrooms were very clean. Plenty of different types of souvenirs--very artsy and craftsy and all sorts of pecan goodies to try and to buy. We got gas and were really wanting a Barbecue sandwich and thought they didn't sell them but we were really glad we asked because we got a huge pulled pork sandwich that was stacked with meat and was delicious!! Stopped here a couple of times going to and coming back from Houston. Great pit stop for gas and convenience store essentials but my wife and I really fell for the candied pecans. Saved our last minute Christmas gift giving for several folks! Leaving Wichita Falls I kept seeing signs for the Pecan Shed. Realized gas was needed, and a restroom break for us all. So we stopped on by. The restrooms were wonderfully clean, and well-stocked. The little store itself has some really cute Texas-themed goodies that you'll feel a need to own. My only issue was the teenagers working behind the counter in the kitchen. They were not observing good prep and hygiene methods, and as much as I wanted to get a few types of fudge I just couldn't get past the dozens of houseflies buzzing around all over the fudge that was wide open on display. Ok, so it's Texas and in the country. But we're not talking just one or two flies. We're talking dozens! Landing all over the food they are selling to customers. That number of flies is indicative of a larger hygiene issue somewhere nearby. That's a bummer. It put me off of getting any food items, and off of trying some of the great-looking pecan goodies! Milk chocolate covered pecans? Oh, yes please! I'll stop by again when I pass through Henrietta again. Since 2015 have stopped both coming and going from The Woodlands to Caprock Canyon/ Amarillo. I started to order jalapeño Pigs and sometimes Hogs and brought them to loved ones from my trip. Always purchased other baked good if they had them available and lots of various candied pecans and fudge. It was never a problem to order the breakfast pigs/hogs until today. I made my order and a few hours later was called to advise me that the owner no longer wishes to allow breakfast orders outside breakfast hours to be picked up. These little sausage treats were always baked w the daily store order -no special handling or needing to be made fresh when I got there. just waiting in a box w my name on them for me to pick up. It's too bad, I enjoyed bringing those specials eats home but I will not be stopping by to fill my truck up and spend $50-60 on pigs and pecans. I guess the owner does not need my business and I am going to try the new Texas BBQ/ Shell station that has opened across the highway from them. Everything changes I guess. read more
