This has to be the absolute worst Exxon station / donut shop / dump in the country. I live in Houston but visit family in Alexandria and have gassed up here a few times before heading back to Houston. Today will be my last. It's always a terrible experience. Today's complaints consist of higher than normal gas prices, checking drive through cars and ignoring customers inside, day old donuts and the cashier short changed my son $5, but I am willing to believe they don't know how to count numbers. Full disclosure- this review was written about a year ago and posted 5 minutes after the event. I was heated! At that time there was not a Yelp page for this location so the review was posted on the other Shipleys location Yelp page across town. Today Yelp contacted me this page was open, so I copied and pasted my original review. Since this event, I have not returned to this store. Hopefully they have better employees working there now. I am so upset over the laziness and sheer disrespect displayed by the employees of this location. My mom, kids and I just wanted to stop for a few donuts to take home to my ailing father. You have a drive through, correct? To not get my children out of the car in a slight drizzle, we opted for the drive through. Waited and waited. We were ignored by the people, I guess you call employees, inside. There were 2 women at the counter. When we looked up we saw a sign posted "please come inside". Really? What about the handicapped, elderly or people with small children who just want to use the convenience of the drive through that you felt the need to install? So after waiting 15 minutes and talking about how these people were ignoring us on purpose, a line of cars gathered behind us. I decided to use my cell phone to call the rude people inside. Answered first ring... I said can you please come to the drive through window, she says, the rain was blowing inside and we posted a sign telling you to come in. I asked to speak to a manager. The manager came to the phone, I say again, can we be helped at the window? Is it broken? She says, there's a note telling you to come in. I return with "Well, what about the handicapped? Are you just not going to serve them, or the elderly...." Before I could get out anything else, she slams the phone down in my ear. For most of my life, driving home from Alex meant Shipley's cream filled donuts on the way out of town.. NO MORE! I will never stop here again. I hope your other locations have better employees. The sheer rudeness was unbelievable. Like I said, yes, it was raining, but had slowed to a drizzle. That shouldn't matter though as the drive through is covered!!!
