Islay's Peatzeria is the new talk of the town as it has just started up in the past few months. I love it's trendy, hipster style and how it is casual and formal at the same time. It is a smart layout and I would definitely go back again. This is an old church, and it sticks to Islay's traditional black and white on it's outside, but inside it is vibrant with chic decorations and all things trendy. They have built a second level to the church as well as an outside modern patio, smokers lounge and an area with a pizza oven for takeaway pizzas to be cooked in. I love this because they have comfy couch seating areas with an overhead canopy to sit outside in rainy or sunny weather whilst enjoying your pizza and seaside view. Everyday a new range of specials are added onto the specials bored which are always fun to try, when I went on the specials board was Mac N' Cheese Fish Cakes (I chose this as I like Macaroni Cheese and I'm a fan of fish, I wasn't sure if I'd made the right decision with this choice but it was very flavoursome, as it was) served with tangy, zingy salsa tomato ketchup which was really tasty! Luckily all day I was craving Mac N' Cheese which I was pleased to see was on the menu, I was craving an extra cheesy Mac N' Cheese, sadly I didn't quite get that but the garlic bread was smothered with lot of garlic butter and herbs (which I love), this did definitely make up for the creamy Mac N' Cheese. They also have an ice cream counter which is great to get a good scoop with dessert. For my dessert I got the Caramel, Toffee Apple Pizza, as with my starter I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I wasn't let down once more. It was filled with caramel and gooey toffee sauce, the pizza base was nice and crunchy but the toffee sauce made it nice and soggy (which I liked) the apples were also soaked in caramel and were nice and soft, it was also served with ice cream. The only thing which is annoying, but manageable, is the parking in Bowmore, as Bowmore is a busy small town, you'll be lucky to get a parking space on the same street as the Peatzeria. read more
