Dropped in suddenly for a bouquet for my neighbour. I believe I met the owner who was lovely and accommodating of my sudden request. Ethically sourced flowers and knowledgeable staff. Will be back. read more

Peaseblossoms Flowers & Stuff - Bouquet - chrysanthymums, hydrangea, white rose - Florists Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

It was my first time ever being in a place like this and it most certainly will not be my last. Such an amazing experience and an amazing person in Marika (goodness i hope I spelt that right). The store wasn't even open and she helped me make something happen. Such a delight and generous person. I'm so glad I found this place and recommend this to anyone looking for these services. Thank you for the experience and I most certainly will be back! read more

Entering Peaseblossoms is like entering a mini forest; you kind of expect sugar plums to dance in your head. Autumn leaves are strewn in front of the doorway, hand blown glass globes dangle in the storefront window and very exotic flowers and greenery greet you on your path to see the Master! I call him this, because Peaseblossom's floral designer is a magician! He is masterful at creating some of the most beautiful and exquisite flower arrangements I have ever seen. He has a background that is long and reputable including arranging flowers for the Juno awards and Elton John. So expect 200 to 400 dollar arrangements for well less than $100. You are getting quality plus quantity here folks; just take a look at the snaps that I took. Added touch is the folkloric decor; antique "well to do" watering cans hanging from the ceiling and a row of sweet wooden birdhouses made of recycled farm house materials. Dammit just come in for yourself and feel the magic!!! read more

When I lived in Calgary, Peaseblossoms was a regular hangout of mine. Dinah G is correct, that leaving the street and stepping into the shop truly feels like a magical experience. If you have had a stressful day, it can be very transporting! The store always carries a neat variety of blooms and wares. At one time they carried stunning Italian ceramic vases that were triangular and could be hung on the wall. For my wedding in November of 2001, the question of which florist to use was the easiest decision to make. My request for "elegant wildflowers" was answered beyond my wildest dreams. I was amazed how not only women... but numerous men attending the wedding raved over the flowers. After I moved to Vancouver, I was very nervous when My Mom told me that the store underwent new management. On my next visit I was ecstatic to find the store's stock showed the same quality and the staff was just as friendly. I still phone with my credit card on important occasions that my family living in Calgary celebrates. Peaseblossoms never disappoints and is wiling to work with me whether I have a $15 budget or a $150 budget for a bouquet or plant. When in town I visit in person. (Love poking into the Kalamata grocery store on the corner for the amazing stuffed olives, fresh pita or baklava). read more

I recommended Peaseblossoms to a friend who wanted to send a big bouquet to family in town because I have heard this shop does beautiful arrangements. When I spoke to my friend, she said that making the order was a hassle, the owner (who took the order, put together the bouquet and delivered it (late!)) was difficult to deal with and verging on rude. I saw the arrangement the day after it was delivered and was shocked to see a bouquet that looked like the scraps at the end of the week when a florist doesn't have any flowers left. The greens were scant and scraggly, the flowers were mismatched and not cohesive or creative or artistic; they looked like a mistake or leftovers you cannot sell. As someone who worked as a florist before I was shocked with the lack of quality or skill in this order, and on top of that, three of the cut flowers in the arrangement were clearly on the decline and one was dead before the weekend was over. The recipient was so unhappy with what she received that she went into the shop to express her disappointment and was told (by the owner) that it was "just her opinion" that there was anything wrong with the arrangement and did not offer to do anything to remedy it. I will make sure to never use this shop or recommend them again. read more

So, I needed to get "I messed up flowers" on the way home from work. Went in and said to the florist that I needed some "I'm an a$$hole" flowers and she had the perfect arrangement ready and for only $20! Amazing. I have to say, it may be the nicest arrangement I've given in a long time, worth way more than $20. I might have to go there every week!! read more

My fiancé has been a loyal customer to Peasblossom for the last few years and we naturally booked them to provide flowers for our upcoming wedding (wedding is in 2 weeks). I had read negative reviews online prior to booking with them but assumed the relationship my fiancé had with the owner would ensure there would be no problems.. Working with Peasblossom has been a complete NIGHTMARE. In order to actually have someone call me back I had to leave several voice messages and emails marked as urgent. I tried even dropping by the shop to get some answers, but none of the staff are empowered to deal with weddings - Marika (owner) is the only one who deals with wedding flowers. I was getting so frustratrated by their lack of responsiveness and unprofessionalism, I asked my fiancé to contact Marika (based on their relationship). It has been 6 days since his email and phone call and we still have no response. We are so concerned that they won't deliver on our order, we sent out a few emails in desperation to see if another florist could take our order so close to the wedding date. I emailed Kensington Florist about the situation and they responded to me in less than an hour and are able to take our order. This is what I would have expected from Peaseblossom!! Brides out there - save yourself from unnecessary stress and hassle by NOT working with Peaseblossom for your wedding. I should have listened to the negative reviews by others and now regret not doing so. read more

On Valentine's Day I was surprised with a delivery of Beautiful Roses. The next day when I came in to the office half of them were dead. When I called the florist Marika said that they would pick them up. She left me a message that I had obviously left them by an air conditioning unit and that is why they were dead. Yes February is high air conditioning season. Marika called the person that ordered them and told him that I had killed the flowers and how would he like to proceed. Instead of standing behind her product, she blamed the consumer, replaced the flowers, and CHARGED him again. In a day and age where we have so many choices to support establishments that provide excellent service and stand behind their products I felt that I had to share my story so that someone else doing a nice gesture does not get taken advantage of by this flower shop. We have been LOYAL customers of Peaseblossoms for years. We have never found them to be over friendly or provide outstanding customer service, but nevertheless they usually have great flowers and we like the little store. However, our experience this week has cemented the fact that we will NEVER purchase flowers from them again. I had ordered a bouquet for delivery one week ago, stating they were being delivered for an important birthday to an office building. In the past we have been told that office deliveries go out in the morning. After not hearing from the recipient all day, I decided to call at 130pm to find out where they were and was RUDELY told that they had not been sent out yet and that they would hopefully be there by 4pm. In our case, that is too late for this person to receive them today - what a WASTE! There goes the thoughtfulness of having a flowers delivered. You have lost our business. There are too many other great flower shops in the city to not provide impeccable service. read more

Terrible Experience! UNRELIABLE and RUDE! We Hired Peaseblossoms to do our wedding (bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, altar pieces) They were horrible at getting back with us, often taking multiple emails and phone calls for weeks before responding. They treated us like we were a huge burden for making some very small changes to our order (scrapping our centrepieces) more than 3 weeks out from our big day.AND We were chastised by the manager for being "too concerned with details" when in the end all went to hell. - They showed up AN HOUR and fifteen minutes LATE (15 mins after our wedding ceremony was set to start!!!) they were asking our guests to help finish assembling corsages!! - and distributed them to many of the wrong people. (later admitting they had lost the detailed list we had written out for them saying who gets what) They then proceeded to haphazardly toss up the altarpiece arrangements in front of our seated guests/family, leaving the cloth on the altar piece lopsided, and our meticulously crafted string of dried rose petals on the ground at the altar (which we had specifically instructed be draped across the altarpiece fabric.) We never got a call, text, or anything saying they'd be late and NO apology was offered... Only a casual excuse was given that a worker hadn't showed that morning. Our wedding decorator had tried calling them many times that morning, and was unable to reach them (business or cell). That was later shrugged off by the manager saying "Well my phone was in my purse on vibrate", as if that justified it. We were met with extreme rudeness when we complained and them a chance to make things right, not contacting them til 4 days after-at which point they passed the blame off on an employee, and offered no compensation for this NIGHTMARE! That is until we threatened with a scathing email. Our response to which was incredibly unprofessional and full of absurdly childish excuses negating every half assed apology that was given. read more

Two years ago I had called Peaseblossoms to send my girlfriend flowers on her birthday. They arrived the day before her birthday. I decided to give them a second chance on her 2012 birthday (today) I ordered a $100 bouquet. The person on the phone was very rude to me, explaining as long windedly as possible that she did not have much time, that she was very busy. So I gave her the address and my credit card number and she hung up. I called back in a couple hours to make sure everything was good to go. She said it was. My girlfriend did not receive her flowers. I suppose she will get them tomorrow. But what's the point? The moment has passed. read more

I've always had a pleasant experience and the staff is friendly fun and helpful. Quite pricey but maybe I don't buy flowers enough to know what the rates are. read more
