We never had to worry whether mom was being taken care of. We knew she was. There were many activities that kept mom busy & we were always included in everything that mom was involved in. We enjoyed meals with her regularly & when mom was no longer able to feed herself, there was always somebody helping her. I remember when we first moved him in I thought the place was like a very nice hotel. They have beautiful common areas like an outdoor fountain and fireplace, a bar, several lounges and dinning areas, a movie theater, and game areas. They do happy hour for the residents where they can have beer or wine and hangout together chatting or singing. We've joined my grandfather for dinner a few times and it was always good, albeit with a lot of the expected soft textures. Snacks and refreshments are always available. They even have cookouts for some holidays and invite the families of residents. They encourage family involvement, my uncle is a certified volunteer and visits all the time and helps with programs. We often take my grandpa out and there's never been any hassle. They continue to provide excellent care for their residents.

The only good thing to say about this place is that they seem to have two-three responsible workers there...everyone is INCOMPETENT, UNPROFESSIONAL and UNRELIABLE. They clearly take advantage of the FACT that most of their residents are senile, have dementia or not very aware of their surroundings. My family and I have witnessed workers cursing each other out in front of patients, workers arguing over who would perform service needed at time, a worker physically and verbally abusing an elderly wheel-chair bound patient who then posted it to Social Media and thought it was funny, my mother's ceiling leaked for over a month and a half and it was not until I made several phone calls and finally threatened to call the Board of Health and Family services that it was addressed. Her linen is continuously FILTHY, they put trashcans/hampers in her room to catch water, placed plastic bags over items and left all this in place for OVER A month. They finally move her into a room with a BROKEN refrigerator and BROKEN microwave BUT yet nobody told me or noticed. So her items went bad and I have yet to be reimbursed. I have requested several meetings and phone calls to no avail. At one time I had a mtg scheduled that was literally cancelled 2 hours before mtg. time and was told it would be rescheduled. I'm STILL waiting. Situations go UNNOTICED and UNADDRESSED. I have asked for the OWNER to call me over a WEEK ago to address ALL of these issues and I'm STILL waiting. Her room is always NASTY, the wash clothes and towels are dirty and dingy. Her laundry is never returned - many times I find other's items in with hers. And mind you, my mother has severe DEMENTIA so she is completely LOST and at their MERCY. The Board of HEALTH needs to do an INSPECTION here ASAP. The owner nor management cares nor bothers to return calls or messages. Half of the stuff on their WEBSITE and BROCHURES is FALSE and pure PROPAGANDA to get you in the DOOR. They do NOT have half of the SAFETY measures mentioned. The slot machines are FAKE and is used to TRICK you into thinking this would be a NICE friendly place for your LOVED one. I'm MOVING my mother ASAP. This PLACE is NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The grounds are very nicely kept and everyone inside seemed so nice. What a cool place too, they were serving wine and beer...I've never been to a senior home that served alcohol of any kind so they get cool points in my book. When I retire and am old and alone, I'd want to go here. Everyone was so sweet and you're allowed to bring your animals!

It felt unjust and unprofessional to have my employment ended based on subjective opinions instead of a thorough and unbiased review. In addition to my own experience, I believe it's important to point out that the company has shown inconsistency in how it handles serious concerns. There have been multiple reports and complaints made by staff about certain employees(ESSEX. kitchen Coordinator) engaging in inappropriate and unprofessional behavior (sexual assault) with a Former employee who was FIRED FOR REPORTING SAID SEXUAL ASSAULT. There was also another incident where a memory care employee who sprayed a resident in the face WITH A SPRAY BOTTLE FOR THE CAT but i get fired because of how 2 people ( one of which who is threatening to sue sunrise for a separate manner) perceive me. it's laughable honestly. yet those situations were not addressed with the same urgency or accountability. It's troubling to see individuals who have been repeatedly reported for harmful or disrespectful conduct remain employed, while I was terminated based solely on how two people perceived me. That being said she was not able to complain about this place. She said I quote "the house was clean, the staff was very nice and the food was excellent." Before we chose this place we called about 30 assisted living locations and this place was not only priced fairly but goes the extra mile to make sure their residence are taken care of.

The lady that owns this business is a crook she found me a place so I paid $1200 for one months…read morerent and $1200 community fee and because I fell in the hospital the guy that owns the place I was going to refused to give me my money back and then Golden Arms refused to give my community fee back so I lost $2400,so the lady that owns Golden Arms found another place and said that I would not have to pay another $1200 community fee because I paid for it once already and she also said that if I don't like it there or something happens and I don't move in that I would receive all my money back and she put it on paper so I paid $1200 for the months rent so I did move in but I stay overnight and because I went out for some fresh air the owner called the police and said that I was mentally ill and could not go back into the house and she called a ambulance to have me transported to the hospital and she also refused to return my money back to me so I lost another $1200 isn't that something,even putting this in black and white I lost all that money.
