I called Sylvan learning center and set up a consultation. They explained to us how they would work with my son. They laid out a plan... They are teaching him how to study Prioritize Organize Learning his way around the computer. OMG! after the second day I asked him how it went and he smiled! And said "actually,mom. Surprisingly really good." Then he said can we go to Barnes and Nobel. WHAT??!! Of course I said yes. He has never smiled with anything having to do with school. He hated school. Hated teachers. It is dumb. He was understandably depressed. Extremely angry. His only thing that made him happy was video games. The one thing he could control when everything else was out of his control. We signed up for twice a week. After a week with sylvan his grades went up by one grade! ONEWEEK!!! After a month he was caught up with all his work and went up another grade! The one on one teaching is helping him tremendously. I am so grateful that we signed him up for the program. It was worth it to us. Today he just informed me what he want to go to college for. He is thinking now about his future. I couldn't be more proud.

My daughter will take the test again in December, so we are hoping for an even higher score. The great part was that we didn't use all of our hours that we paid and after the test, we decided to continue independently and they refunded the rest of hours right away.
