This was the perfect place to stop in for a wonderful breakfast before a day filled with hiking and outdoor activities. The food was absolutely delicious and so was the coffee. We both tried the hungry hikers breakfast wrap, and it was awesome! Everything came out fairly quick and was hot and fresh. Our waitress even recommended some hikes for us to try! The restaurant was very clean, and all the stuff were friendly. What a great experience! I definitely want to come back soon! I recommend coming a little earlier, especially if you're visiting on a weekend as it fills up quickly! read more

While we were waiting for the Waterton Shoreline Cruise we walked up the street three blocks to Pearls. The breakfast was actually in a shared patio area between Pearls and Pizza of Waterton and the menu said Breakfast of Waterton. Enough with how to find it! Once we got on the service staff was a delight. Our girls shared a cinnamon bun, my wife had a Hikers' Wrap, and I ordered the Breakfast Panini. All three were served quickly and were very tasty. Best french toast ever! I had a hard time picking which one I wanted to try and decided to go with the blueberries and cream cheese- delicious! I've heard their bacon cinnamon bun is pretty good, so thats on my list next time I'm in town. I also stopped here during dinner and tried their chicken pot pie -it was fantastic. highly recommend. I have to give Pearl's credit for something: It is a time machine that took me back to the 1990s as this was the absolute worst coffee I have had in at least 15 years. I ordered an iced americano. That's a shot of espresso added to a cup of ice and cold water. Very, very simple. Young woman behind counter has no idea what an Americano or an iced one is so I describe it to her. She proceeds to grind beans (full marks there) and dose into the portafilter, lock and load and push the single button to pull the espresso into a shot glass- and it fills up in, no exaggeration, about three seconds. So the grinder is set to drip and she didn't bother to adjust it, and obviously didn't know that espresso doesn't use a drip grind. Then she does something REALLY shocking: She pushes the brew button again and pulls another shot, THROUGH THE SPENT GROUNDS, and adds this even-more-watered-down diarrhea to my cup. I know it's not going to get any better so I take my drink. No point arguing. Not her fault- she admits she "knows nothing about coffee." But wait, it gets monumentally worse. My partner orders a plain brewed coffee and instead of just taking a to go cup and getting it out of the Bunn brewed coffee machine, which even somebody who doesn't work in a coffee house should know to do, she PULLS TWO MORE SHOTS FROM THE SAME BED OF ESPRESSO!!! Are you keeping count? She has now pulled FOUR increasingly horrible, undrinkable shots from the SAME GROUNDS that should have been used for ONE espresso. Then she looks at me and says, "do I add milk"? For brewed coffee. The manager mentions as he's ringing me up that "she just started today," to which wanted to ask when HE started because loosing a brand new employee on an espresso bar is incredibly bad form. Came here for lunch and got the Chicken Apple and Brie panini sandwich. It was DELISH! Lots of Brie, which made me extra happy! Also came with a side of mixed salad that was tastier than most side salads I get. Sat outside to eat with a beautiful view and drinking back an unlimited refill coffee which I opted to flavour with the appropriately sweet hazelnut syrup. It has been years since we visited Pearl's, but I do think back on the awesome french toast we had there. I was just thinking about it this morning and trying to remember the name of the place. Very happy to find it is still there and serving that great french toast. We had coffee and there was nothing wrong with it then. I went to the Breakfast at Waterton place. Ordered a latte and a frittata. The coffee came in a mug from Pearls Cafe - why???? And it was watery and horrible!! A frittata took them over 45 minutes to make in a restaurant with only 3 other people, who already had their order, to make a mediocre "frittata of the day"!!!! At the end of it they offer my breakfast to be on the house. Does it bring back my time? They really test your patience. Wasted an hour of my time that I could have used in exploring Waterton. They need to be mindful of the time of the tourists. I know where I am not coming back to in Waterton. read more

We came here because of other reviews on yelp. We were fairly disappointed. We both had paninis. Mine was a chicken, and it was so greasy I honestly didn't like it. I don't know what happened to it when she sent it to the kitchen but it was like it was dipped in oil or something. My Hubby's was the same. We were both so hungry when we arrived and ate a bit. We also tried the cinnamon bun with bacon on it. We didn't finish that either. The prices are rather high. I think this is so because they are remote in the park. I don't think I could recommend it. Chairs are terrible, service is mediocre, the coffee will taste perfect to you if your favourite bands are Nirvana, and Soundgarden. It's a little old school and kinda flannel wearing grunge band dark roast that was "the way" to serve coffee in 1992. We stopped in for breakfast and the two good parts of the experience were the view and the French Toast which wasn't five star good but if they had real chairs and the servers spent less time on their phones it would be four star French Toast. It's the park you don't really come for the food and this will get you through a morning of hiking with more style and story to tell then a granola bar and a red bull. read more

Nice cafe with good coffee and baked goods. We had the stuffed blueberry french toast, which was good but I guess I was expecting better because of other reviews. The cinnamon buns were perfect.
