Great little cafe. We had lunch here and we were quite impressed. We had butternut soup and sandwich. The butternut soup was some of the best we have had. The sandwiches were also very good. Don't miss the sweets. We tried a chocolate chewy and peanut butter cookies. Both were outstanding. We also got a pecan bar and butter tart for the road. Both were outstanding. We stopped by the Cinnamon Bear Cafe about a month ago, and I'm still reminiscing about it, and the muffin I had...oh, the muffin..... My mom and I drove 13 hours to Alberta to drop off my little sister for her first year at University. At 6pm we started the next 13 hour portion of the journey to go visit my uncle. I was afraid that we were going to have to sleep in the car because my mom loves to do stuff like that to save money. I prefer beds. And showers. And lying down to sleep. Thankfully she pulled into a dumpy little motel in the Crowsnest pass late at night and we crashed. In the morning, looking for food, the Cinnamon Bear cafe was coincidentally nextdoor to our motel. And it was the only place open before 8am. I liked it before I even went it. I've got a thing for bears, and the sign was cute. Going in, this place looks like it came straight out of the rockies...strangely enough. It's full of hand-carved wood furniture and the walls have murals of trees and bears on them. Awesome. And then I saw the baked goods. Oh em gee, an entire counter overfilling with baked goodness. It's all made in-house, and apparently very fresh because my muffin was still warm from the oven. I had the lemon-raspberry muffin which was the moistest muffin I've ever had, and my mom had the blueberry scone. I picked up a dried-fruit-filled-coconut-maccaroon for the rest of the road trip, which my dog stared longingly at while I devoured it in the car. We just completed a 7000 mile road trip from Seattle to New Hampshire and back, visiting 20 states in the US as well as Alberta. Just as we came into town, we stopped behind a car turning into the parking lot and we spotted a sign that said, "Lattes and cinnamon rolls". What more could we hope for? Well, this was the best food we had the entire trip! We got cinnamon rolls, cookies, bread, hazelnut crunch rolls and sandwiches. All so scrumptious, we are thinking that 10 hours isn't too long a drive from Seattle to get more of these amazing bakery products. Don't miss it! read more

Wife had a parsley and cheddar loaf and a pecan square with an iced coffee. I had a chili, coffee and a blueberry lemon scone. We saw this place on the top 15 list of Alberta must stops. I'm often through this area and have lots of time today so we stopped. We had a truck pulling an RV and there was lots of parking across the street. As soon as we got close to the parking lot you could smell the fresh baking. They had a number of choices of what looked like fresh baking. We got a butter oatmeal cookie, a couple of huge cinnamon buns and a decaf latte. The cinnamon buns were still warm from the oven and quite large. They were about as fresh as I've ever had. They were good but I prefer raisins in a cinnamon bun and if you don't like sweet then don't order one of these. However, if you don't like sweet why would you order a cinnamon bun anyway? The cookie was average. The latte was good and the cinnamon bun was pretty good. The service was very friendly. I'd stop back again but I'm not dying to try another bun. The scones look good, maybe that's my next order. read more

I was passing through Crowsnest Pass and decided to grab a lunch to-go and picnic. I got a fresh made sandwich, a pecan bar, lemon blueberry cookie, and one of their cinnamon buns. The sandwich was good, just your basic meat cheese veg- good for a picnic. The pecan bar was crumbly but tasted good. Unfortunately the lemon blueberry cookie was rock hard and inedible- if I wasn't already out of town when I had it I would have taken it back. Their cinnamon buns are quite good though, best of all the good purchased that day. I didn't realize when they asked me what kind of bun I wanted- white or multigrain- it was in reference to the cinnamon bun and not the sandwich bun...so I asked for the multigrain and what a wonderful mistake! Overall conclusion- stop in for a cinnamon bun or a quick lunch to go! read more

Was in another town close by for two days and we came here twice! We had the regular cinnamon buns and pecan squares, both were excellent! Fresh, tasty and even WARM! Plan to stop, you won't regret it. read more

Stopped here on the recommendation of another traveler. Didn't quite live up to the hype. Cinnamon rolls pretty good, although left uncovered on the counter. Muffins were moist. Sausage roll was good. Cookies looked impressive but definitely tasted like commercial bakery (i.e. Crisco) products. I ordered iced tea and was handed a room temp bottle. Service was friendly as long as you know exactly what you want and no one else is in line. Don't know that I'd stop again, definitely wouldn't go out of my way. On the expensive side. read more

Not a bad place to stop for a drink and some snacks. If you want a real meal though I'd go somewhere else. I paid over $20 for soup, sandwich, butter tart and OJ. It's quite expensive here so I would only stop in for a cup of coffee and maybe some baked goods. read more

Stopped here because of the reviews on Yelp and it did not disappoint. We travel through Crowsnest a couple times a year on our way to Montana and like to hit up a few coffee shops along the way. The Cinnamon Bear was and will continue to be a highlight of the road trip. Arriving shortly before closing time, the staff was refreshingly friendly and welcoming. There are many deserts each looking as delicious as the next. After being recommended the raspberry scone and veggie nut muffin, we dove in. Can not believe how good they were. I have not previously had deserts that moist and flavourful. The coffee was great too. I am considering lowering my other coffee shop reviews as I have found a new standard! read more

incompetent service- we got double charged for our order. After the barista messed up our first order she tried to refund my credit card and re-ring it all in. My card was never refunded so I paid $70 for coffees, sausage rolls and 2 cinnamon buns that had no filling in them. not impressed read more

Whether it's savory or sweet this place has it fresh baked and done right. Nice that the CBear opens @7:30 so you can grab a latte and start your day with a Morning Glory muffin or a tasty scone.
