This is s great little cafe for this tiny town. Fl very homey feeling. Order at the counter and seat yourself and they bring it to you. It's lightly staffed so a small crowd can back them up. All the food was great and they made an off menu o Pb&j for our youngest. read more

This is the small town cafe-diner you've been looking for. This is where the locals hang out. Stone's Throw should have a sign on the highway directing folks into town away from the chain fast food joints travelers are more likely to pause at for over priced, over salted food.. The fresh sandwiches, soups, and salads are popular here. My recommendation though is breakfast. As long as Stone's Throw is open (which they are early until about 5pm), the owners will be happy to cook you up some eggs, bacon, and potato pancakes, toast, whatever. For a good price too. Depending on your appetite $7-$9 will fill you up with quality fresh food. Even for non-breakfast items. One sign of quality (if you even need more from Stone's Throw) is to check where the baking comes from. At Stone's Throw the bread, loafs, scones, etc are all made in house. Food was very yummy- we had the eggs benny, breakfast sandwich and the oatmeal. The smoothies were tasty and coffee strong! What's more, they did not seem irritated with waiting while my 4 kids decided what they wanted and I had to re-read the options for each of them! Recommend this place to all- families or alone, you will enjoy it! read more

Not impressed unfortunately. While the atmosphere is very cozy with that home town feel, the food experience wasn't something to write home about. They were out of several ingredients including hollandaise sauce, a shame as I was looking forward to the eggs Benedict I had ordered. I wasn't informed of the hollandaise issue until waiting for around ten minutes after I ordered. They had also run out of sausage so anything with that in it was right out. I settled on the "farmers scramble" with bacon, at least I thought it had bacon, perhaps just the odd bit of it after doing some digging to find it. The scramble was lacking in flavour and the portion size was a joke. I had also ordered a side of hash browns, which included perhaps a couple of flattened pieces of potato. If you are expecting fresh juices, be prepared to instead be grabbing a bottle from the fridge. Grapefruit juice was again something I found out was missing that day (not till after I placed my order for one, told they have it, and then went digging through the fridge to find out none was there). A shame really, I could see this place having a lot of potential. read more

I was looking forward to leaving a positive review., this is exactly the small town type of gem I love to gush over. The food and the coffee were both good, and I wanted to be able to rave about it. It's a charming one of a kind little place. The tables are each uniquely painted, there is homey charm all over this place...but the initial encounter with service really coloured my appreciation for the experience. We turned back on the highway to purposely visit this store, because of the rating and reviews. we arrived 45 minutes before close...the first thing we were told at the order counter is that the menu choices were limited because there was only one person. (grilled cheese was simply not possible). I opted for the soup of the day, it was hearty and homemade, I enjoyed it just fine....but our order seemed to be annoyance to the counter person who diligently informed me that it was only her on staff and she had to prepare food and clean-up everything for close. (Wow...please forgive me for coming in) The entire menu is fairly simple, but there were several groups behind us and the stress added up quickly on this girl. Rather than focussing on the customer experience, it was clear this was viewed as a hardship to her. Who ever the owners are, you really should not leave this staff member alone on any shift. While she did easily handle all the orders, and not one person minded the extra wait, (one table even assisted her by mopping a spill on the floor., and was very encouraging to her). We were there approximately 20 minutes and I began to feel like our very presence was an inconvenience as she must have repeated 'it's only me' (on shift / on staff) a dozen times, every single time a customer asked for anything. She did fine, but she made the experience all about her and it was off-putting to listen to. read more

This is a quaint, little, small town diner. They serve brekkie all day and their tomato soup is delicious! It is creamy and has chunks of tomato in it, yum! You could pick up this little cafe and put it down in a hip, eclectic neighborhood in Portland, OR. Great service and good food! read more

Stopped here on the way through and very happy that we did. Delicious! Had the warm goat cheese salad, my husband had the broccoli and cheese soup and we ate every last bite. Service was good as well :) read more

What a terrific atmosphere. Had a yummy chai latte and enjoyed a spectacular view from the front windows. Friendly staff and good food.

Can't give the restaurant any type of review, in that my wife and I showed up at 4:45 pm, the front door was locked, female staff member still inside closing up for the day. Sign on the door clearly showed "Open until 5:00 pm". Very poor service to say the least. If your hours of operation is until 5:00 pm, then stay open. read more
