His attention to detail and gentle care were so refreshing--especially since I've had bad experiences elsewhere with rushed work that left me in pain. The quality of my nails is easily 5/5. He even painted the tops of the nails, which no one has ever done for me before, and it made such a difference. It's a solid meh from me. I hate leaving less than stellar reviews, but I'm trying to not just use review sites, but contribute. I try new nail places out by just getting a standard natural nail manicure. If a place takes care and pride in their basic services, then I will come back for the fancier stuff. My nails were done today by the owner and it was just a chop job. They're all different lengths, despite asking to have them evened out. They did zero cuticle work aside from clipping- no pushing them back, no softener or soaking. Just straight in with the clippers. So the sides of my nail beds are ragged and collected polish they couldn't wipe away. The polish job is pretty great with high shine, no bubbles or streaks, though I did have to ask them to cap the nails (they did, but only after I asked and only on one side). And they didn't do any polish clean up, so I have some polish to clean up around the sides of my fingers when I get home. Their more expensive work looks pretty solid and they offer lots of add ons. Salon appeared clean. But their lack of care for a basic service means I'll probably try a few other places before coming back to Pearl. read more

Excellent experience today. Highly recommend. I got a basic pedicure with flowers on my big toes. Paid $25. Very reasonable. They are open on Sunday which is a bonus. They also have kids manicures and kids pedicures (under 11). Staff is friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. Very clean-the pedicure tubs are lined with liners, and when my pedicure was finished, the tools were given back to me in a bag. They give you a bottle of water and the interaction was great. I couldn't be more fortunate to have this place so close to home. I have not been able to find a salon in Utah that comes close to my experiences in NY, or even AZ for that matter, until today. While it started out a bit on the down side, the overall experience was beyond all my expectations. I love going to salons on Sunday since they are less packed than a Saturday or during the week, so I was excited to see this new salon was open on Sundays. I walked in around 245 and the place didn't seem that busy (no one waiting and only a few clients getting nails done) but I was told that they wouldn't have any openings until 330. So I left to go back home. I called when I got home to make the reservation so I could come back at 330 and the woman said they had openings now so there must have been some miscommunication or an extra employee showed up to help with the last hour the shop was open. So I made the appointment for 315 went back. The place is super clean and bright. 6 massage chairs for pedicures and 6 tables for manis. They have regular polish, acrylic, gel, foil and even dip powder. The prices are pretty average for Utah but still way more than I would like to pay (especially when I can get a mani/pedi for $25 from my favorite salon back in Astoria). It was $20 for basic pedicure and $15 for basic manicure). They have three different levels for the pedicures and it definitely sounds luxurious to get the 4-in-1 but I didn't have the time or money this time. For them being only the basic manicure and pedicure, they were incredible. The woman who did my pedicure spent at least 5 mins massaging each leg and took her time trimming my nails and cuticles and painting them with patience and precision. I also love that they use individual smaller nail files and foot scrubbers so they can dispose after each use instead of using the same ones for multiple clients. And I love the plastic liner on the tub. Easy cleanup for them and more sanitary for me! A different woman took over for the manicure and the process was unlike anything I have had. The cuticle cream and hand heating pads felt amazing and then the massage of the hands and arms with lotion and the marble relieved a ton of tension and strain in my arms from my workouts. She also took her time cutting the cuticles and painting my nails. I don't treat myself often to getting my nails done, but this was totally worth it and I will make sure I come back and refer my friends here. They have only been open 4 months but it is clear they know what they are doing and do it well. read more

We called ahead for 2 pedis and one full set. Halfway through another group of people show up with appointments (they were told they couldn't take them, that they're too busy). They ended up helping them after the most awkward encounter. My pedicure was completely written off. My nails are all crooked, tips aren't even glued to my natural nails how they should be. She was super rushed and work was just sloppy. My daughter got marble nails, they look absolutely horrible. 0-star service, the whole experience was awful. Honestly I shouldn't have paid. WORST NAIL SALON EVER! I went in for a full set and showed a reference picture and they said they could do it no problem. The male technician began applying the tips but one ended up falling off because he did not put enough glue. Then he started drilling and filling. I was cut multiple times to the point where I was bleeding and it was not even the shape I asked for. He put the butterflies on next and sealed it with acrylic. The acrylic was so uneven and had air bubbles in it. I asked him to redo it and the same problem occurred. He then put the polish on my other nails very streakily. After it was finished, there was dried polish outside of my cuticles along with dried acrylic and a weird white line. I asked him to fix the white line and he insisted it was my actual nail bed. I knew that my own nails did not have a white line but he insisted that it was my fault. Eventually I got him to drill it and it turns out it was a streak of acrylic (not my nail). My nails still looked terrible and I showed them to the neighboring technician and she took off all the polish and redid everything, assuring me it would be great. I was cut again and had a bunch of mess around my cuticles. DO NOT COME HERE !! read more
