DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! I REPEAT, DO NOT MOVE HERE! I have been on this property since 2011, and…read moreoriginally it was great. I loved this property... But fast forward to the end of 2014 and forward, this property has become an expensive version of any South Jackson property. After Courtney and Tafarah (sic) left, the property has gone through a series of incompetent managers. This current manager collects a check...that it! Here's a list The current staff leases an apartment to anyone with a money for the deposit. Nothing else matters. There is music constantly blaring from car radios, both driving in and just hanging out in the parking lot from 12:00AM-12:00PM (idk what happens b/t 8AM-5PM because I work), even though the property bans loud music and loitering in the parking lot. When you complain about it, they tell you to call the courtesy officer, and when you tell them that the courtesy officer is a JOKE...no seriously he's a joke; there's ALWAYS a reason why he can't respond...they tell you...well if it was me I would call the police. Like WTF, you are the manager of the property; handle that bs. My neighbor leaves a fresh bag of garbage on the breezeway every week...places it there on a Sunday, and disposes of it the following Sunday. According to the lease...drawn up by the property and supposedly explained to you by the leasing agent, garbage in the breezeway is a $50 fine...that's not enforced either. Just image how fun my summer has been with the temperatures in the 95-102 range. Nothing better than smelling hot garbage everyday. Oh and crap has leaked out of all the bags they leave out there, so now the breezeway is stained with the "juices" from their garbage. Regular quarterly inspections don't happen anymore...That's when the filters in the air units are supposed to be changed, which is very necessary for those of us who suffers from sever allergies, and chronic bronchitis. I guess this current manager said screw it!; they don't need new filters! Maintenance came to my unit in Dec 2014 to confirm the presence of heavy marijuana smoke, and that's the last time they've entered my unit. When Courtney and Co were here the maintenance workers were in the units like clock work changing filters, and checking smoke detectors. Neither of those two things have been done since she left. This use to be a community of young professionals and old retirees...now I'm terrified of most of my neighbors; they look like "stick-up" kids, and forget studying, doing homework, or bringing anything home from work to complete, it won't happen unless obnoxiously loud, profane-laced rap music helps you to concentrate...I remember my first 3 years here...complete serenity. Like...it was so quiet that i used to just sit out on my balcony and relax. The atmosphere of the property has changed so much that I now block my balcony door off with furniture, so that know one breaks in on me. Here's a big one...Someone in my building smokes "skunk" weed each and every freakin' day! I have complained since December 2014 ...yet as I type this review, I'm inhaling "skunk" weed. I had no clue what weed smelled like (I'm a small town country girl) until I called the leasing office in Dec 2014, to complain that my apartment smelled like a dead skunk (I seriously thought there were rotten pipes in my unit)! Well the receptionist (or whomever she was) tells me, oh someone's smoking weed in your building-that's what that odor is. I have complained constantly via office visits, phone calls, and emails. After 4 years of not so much a late payment by me...they've not even offered to move me into another unit...away from the smell that literally makes me vomit, and gives me a pounding headache. When it's cold, I have to suffer through the cold weather because turning the heat on while that smell is in my unit makes me physically ill. When it's hot, I just have to deal with it because running the AC helps to get the scent in every inch of my apartment. Management hasn't so much as batted an eye at the problem..even though I've called, stopped by the office, sent emails, called the courtesy office (he was at church, and couldn't answer the call right then, so he sent a text message). I guess they have no problem with people doing DRUGS on the property, even though it's prohibited by their lease, as long as the drug offender is paying rent. It's funny how a property can be in VIOLATION of their own legally binding document. City ordinance bands regular cigarette smoke in these building, but apparently the current staff has no problem with "enhanced" cigarettes. Courtney would have put an immediate stop to this foolishness...Actually Courtney would've spotted trouble with the idiot before she leased the unit. And here's what makes me content with the decision I've made to break this lease (which is what I'm doing in the very new future)... So this is supposed to be a very classy community, right. There's a sparkling pool, Jacuzzi, nice walking

Takes me back in time whenever I am driving towards it and when I walk inside. The units are fully remodeled. The original office doors were kept as front doors complete with mail slots. The best part about older buildings is the sound proofing. I never really hear the neighbors. They are quiet and friendly. There is always security presence in the lobby when you need. The 1 bedroom is spacious with stainless steel appliances, granite counters, subway tile backsplash, hardwood floors and carpet in the bedroom. Washer and dryer in unit. Plenty of storage including a walk in closet. It is never hard to find parking. I like that there are only 3-4 units on each floor. You walk out the elevator and into your unit. It seems pretty private unlike the 500+ units in California suburbs. The only downfall is that there is no gym on the premises. You do have access to the gym at the King Edward Hotel (another beautiful building) around the corner. Sure it's not too far but makes it difficult to get motivated when it is 40 degrees and windy. out. We all want our conveniences. Overall, this is a great place to be when visiting my husband. I would not mind calling it a second home.

The apartments are just a bit dated as far as cabinets and countertops go, but everything is in good working order. The carpet in my daughter and son-in-laws apartment appeared to be brand new when they first moved in. The walls had also been freshly painted. The stairwells are well-lit and are clean. Although, I will say it's a huge pain-in-the-ass to go up three flights of stairs, so you may want to try to get one on the bottom floor. The apartments on the third floor are a bit cheaper though. I have been here quite a number of times late at night and there's never any problem with noise. The balconies are a really nice size. Since we're all smokers who don't smoke in the house, they are large enough for five or six of us to sit outside comfortably. There are no bug problems here and if you need maintenance for anything, they fix things in a very timely manner. The only negative thing I can really say about this particular apartment complex is after dark, you may have trouble finding a parking space close to your unit. You will find a space, you may just have to hike to get to your apartment. Taking into consideration the good rent prices, the school district, the close proximity to stopping, restaurants, entertainment, etc., and the appearance of the apartments, I definitely recommend living here if it's apartment life you are seeking.
