This isn't based on just the location[close to so many venues], nor the unique 1939 era structure[ of an era gone by]. But because of the owner and staff that really takes on a hands on approach to the comfort and security of those that live here. Calling the office or the owner[ at any time] will get the situation addressed ASAP. The security is above reproach, with security cameras from every angle outside, from every angle inside the building, security fence with remote control opening, and security code to get into front and back entrances. The other neat thing about 721 is that it doesn't have the feel of an apartment complex; there is a live and let live atmosphere[ translation/ the owner, staff, nor tenets tolerate bigotry of any kind] and there is a cornucopia of all races, sexes, genders, and beliefs that dwell at 721 North State St. In a downtown setting, one wouldn't expect so much greenery, but there are shade trees to sit under and a roof terrace that at night has a cool breeze and you can look up and see a sky full of stars to help melt the stress of the day. I personally like the vintage lights that are scattered through out the parking lot. But you should just schedule an appointment so you can see for yourself.

Takes me back in time whenever I am driving towards it and when I walk inside. The units are fully remodeled. The original office doors were kept as front doors complete with mail slots. The best part about older buildings is the sound proofing. I never really hear the neighbors. They are quiet and friendly. There is always security presence in the lobby when you need. The 1 bedroom is spacious with stainless steel appliances, granite counters, subway tile backsplash, hardwood floors and carpet in the bedroom. Washer and dryer in unit. Plenty of storage including a walk in closet. It is never hard to find parking. I like that there are only 3-4 units on each floor. You walk out the elevator and into your unit. It seems pretty private unlike the 500+ units in California suburbs. The only downfall is that there is no gym on the premises. You do have access to the gym at the King Edward Hotel (another beautiful building) around the corner. Sure it's not too far but makes it difficult to get motivated when it is 40 degrees and windy. out. We all want our conveniences. Overall, this is a great place to be when visiting my husband. I would not mind calling it a second home.

There's a washer and dryer that's included and as you walk down the hall you're greeted with a nice patio with the view of your bedroom. I might just have found my new home.

I moved here in 2022 to be closer to my workplace, I have had no complaints. If any problem comes up, I put in my maintenance report and maintenance comes to fix it as soon as they can same day or I speak with staff and they take it into consideration for improvements. The Trails also hosts community events to help with social interaction for neighbors, such as hot cocoa and cookies, food trucks, snow cones, movie nights, and more I could name. My favorite activity to do at the trails is walk to the lake watch the ducks and geese, which is helpful for my mind to slow down from all the hustle and bustle from a long day. This is my home away from home (2 bedroom, 2 bath). My parents have to beg me to come visit more than just every other weekend because I have become comfortable in my home!

Not to mention the bug problem. Lastly, management is incompetent, to say the least. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. You would be better off living under a bridge.

Management said we can only have two parking spaces, but I saw so many other residents with multiple cars! Rita (manager) then said we have to squeeze it into one parking space, are you going to insure the bike if it gets damaged?! Management would make comments when I'm not around knowing my bf is pretty much nice and won't say anything...because they knows I'll stop them in their track. One time in front of other residents the manager walked by my bf who was walking our dogs and said "They didn't even pay a pet deposit." to our neighbor. She must not know that I've talked to everyone in that complex and not one of them paid a pet deposit. I bought my dog AFTER I signed the lease, I didn't plan on having one. I would've paid it if everyone else did and if she asked ME about it. That's the kind of comments she'd make. Multiple times we had things break down, talk about having your AC go out during the hot summer days. Nope, no emergency work order put in, I had to call several times throughout the 2 days we were living in hell. She then later would evict us, no reason whatsoever. We didn't bother to ask anyway, so glad we moved. Stuff would break and nothing would be done. The flush in our toilet broke, took days to fix. Stove stopped working, again took days to fix. Ac broke, took 48 hours to fix. Our heater broke during winter, took days to fix. Seems almost like she didn't care about the tenants being comfortable.
