I love peapod. It's so convenient. It has been a life saver while I take care of this knee injury. It's not perfect, but after a month of ordering every week I'm satisfied. The only thing they need to be careful with is selecting the items. In my first order they sent rotini instead of rigatoni and this last order they sent two avocado instead of a hot pepper. I don't know how you confuse the two lol Maybe the workers need to slow down bit.

Since my first review I have had 6 or 7 more deliveries from Peapod. Only once has my delivery not fallen within the scheduled delivery time. I was called and informed it would be 45 minutes late. I'm not deducting a star for this since my morning was free, but this is a pain if you need to adjust your schedule because they can't adhere to the agreed upon time. Fair compensation would be to waive the delivery fee. I am deducting one star because I have ordered produce and have been disappointed more than once. Their leafy greens [kale, spinach, parsley, lettuce, (various types), and collard], always arrive with brown spots, are wilting, and in some cases are spoilt. Twice I have opened one bag of spinach and one of lettuce only to find it has turned to sludge in the middle. However, asparagus, potatoes (red, sweet), broccoli, and eggplant have been fresh and good quality. Going forward, I'll stick to my original plan and not order their produce.

I am a long time user of FD and a one time user of PP. Everything went off without a hitch. The prices that PP offers simply beats FD hands down. In fact a few things I got were cheaper than my local Morton Williams. As long as I've got ice and vodka/bourbon I'm good. Its through the requests of my housekeeper and gf that I go..um.."shopping". Everything with this first PP order went off perfect. The only things of note would be that I ordered an 8 pack of house brand paper towels and got name brand instead, no biggie. Also the "glazed doughnuts" for $2.99 were really lousy. They tasted like they were 3+ days old and made in North Korea. Not a good thing. If you live in Manhattan and need to stockup on the basics PP should work out fine. The prices are great and they offer all types of deals. The $10 delivery fee is steep so just order on the big side to average it out..

My bakery order was good. Just one hamburger bun was slightly crushed. Is cool though because I can just make homemade croutons.

I live in Manhattan, so it's difficult to even go out and carry a bunch of groceries back to my apartment.

The chef they sent wasn't entertaining at all, and he served the noodles and rice almost an hour before serving the actual meats, which were still barely cooked when they finally came out. They also gave us the vegetables at the very end, almost two hours later, and by that point everything had already been served and eaten, so the vegetables ended up going straight to the trash. This could have been avoided if they had simply sent two chefs, because one person handling about 30 guests is unrealistic. When we tried addressing the issues afterward, I spoke with Nick, who was supposedly one of the higher managers. He was extremely rude and defensive. He even tried to tell me it was normal to serve the noodles 45 minutes before the meat, which is simply not true. Their own website photos clearly show the meat, rice and noodles all served together on one plate. It felt like he was making excuses instead of taking responsibility. The only real help came when my fiancé ended up speaking directly to the owner, who was kind, understanding and respectful. They did provide a 500 dollar refund out of the 1900 dollars we paid, which I appreciate, but overall the food timing, staffing decisions, food quality and customer service, especially from management, were extremely disappointing. I hope they take this feedback seriously so future customers don't go through the same experience.

We've been there several times, and while not everything is amazing, the food is generally good and comforting. The star of the menu for me is the avocado toast - that's where they really get it right. The avocado toast is consistently fresh, well seasoned, and perfectly done every time. The pancakes are also very good: fluffy, tasty, and great for a weekend breakfast or brunch. One small thing that would make the experience even better is hot syrup. Warm syrup with those pancakes would take them to the next level. Service can be hit or miss depending on the day. On a previous visit, we had a server who dropped off the food and then basically disappeared until it was time for the check, which was disappointing. On our most recent visit, though, our server was the complete opposite: very attentive, friendly, and professional. It really made a difference in how much we enjoyed the meal. When we arrived this time, there was a line, but since there were only two of us and a table had just opened up, we were seated right away. That was a nice surprise and helped start the visit on a good note. All in all, Floral Park Diner is a nice local place, especially for breakfast or brunch. The food is good diner fare, some dishes shine more than others, and when the service is "on," it's a very pleasant experience. I'd recommend it if you're in the area and want a relaxed, neighborhood spot with great avocado toast and solid breakfast options. Quick summary: Excellent avocado toast - my favorite item Good pancakes (would love hot syrup) Service can be inconsistent Friendly, attentive service on our latest visit Convenient local spot for breakfast or brunch
