I reported her and had her removed from working with my husband. The CNAs are ok. Some are trifling though. Ms. Laterral was magnificent. The food is disgusting! The company that provides the food says the menu was suggested by the higher ups. It's a total waste. The people are always hungry. I literally had to purchase breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. It's a decent facility overall even the doctors offices however some people still seem as if they are finding their way. No real structure. I had numerous complaints about minute stuff. The day shift was good but that night shift would make you hurt them especially the CNAs. They would bust in the room and turn on all the lights just to dump garbage or write on the dry erase board at 4am. People are sleeping. I would say if you have someone to be treated there, stay with them. It's not bad but it could be better. House keeping rarely came but it is because there is only one house keeper and she had death in here family plus a broken foot during my husband's time there.

The check-in process was the only part that went smoothly; wait time there was reasonable. After that, the quality of care fell apart. The room was not properly cleaned--there was visible blood on the floor and even on the sharps/needle disposal box, which is unacceptable for a medical facility. Our PA admitted to giving my sister only general pain medication despite watching her cry in severe pain. The staff member who first inserted the IV did it incorrectly, and while another nurse came in to fix it and administer medication, he said he'd be back in an hour--and never returned. We had to repeatedly request help and updates just to get my sister checked on. This level of care is far below what any patient deserves. The entire department needs serious improvement--cleanliness, attention to patients, and basic follow-through.

The second surgery was carpal tunnel,…read moreI met with and thought an experienced surgeon was going to preform my surgery, but a young doctor with little experience ended up doing it. It was the worst experience out of the 3 carpal tunnel release surgeries I've had. My last surgery was gallbladder removal, I asked the doctor at my visit who would be performing the surgery, she said she would be. Again, day of its a brand new doctor, barely looked old enough to be working, but I needed my gallbladder out so I didn't want to reschedule the entire procedure. He forgot to put a diagnostic code on my pain medication prescription, and could not be reached after surgery. So instead of my insurance covering my prescription I had to pay out of pocket. Another thing is I don't know why they have sick people working in the surgery department? One of the people that came to get me for surgery was visibly and audibly sick. Coughing and sniffling and had a mask just dangling off his face. Also, prepared to wait! Appointment or surgery they cannot do anything in a timely manner. I will only go back if it's my only option.

At 1:10 I was brought to the back; much to my surprise, the back area was very dark including the examination room; only a few lights by the nurse station were on. Very dark, I had never been in a doctor's office so dark. In the examination room, the technician did the eye exam and put dilating drops in my eyes. She then left. At around 1:40, I Heard Dr. Sowell introduced herself to a patient in a room adjacent to mine which made me realize that it would take several more minutes to come see me. I had to pick up my grandson from school and realizing I'd be late if I would wait to see the doctor, I left. At around 2:10 I received a call from the technician asking me where I was which led me to believe that it wasn't until then that they went into the room where I was and find out I wasn't anymore. I explained the situation to her and she said that the doctor had a patient ahead of me and I had to wait for the drops to take effect, a fact I was not told, but she did tell me that I should've been told by the front people or I should've known. Not pleased with my first and last experience with Dr. Sowell.

Humble Periacetabular Osteotomy surgeon…read more Dr. John R. Faust diagnosed me with hip dysplasia at age 46. He took over an hour explaining every detail of the Periacetabular Osteotomy (PAO) (fellowship trained with Dr. Tim Schrader, Atlanta) surgery. Dr. Faust offered several options in his expert opinion and was transparent about the pros and cons of surgery. Even though I left his office in tears, I knew could trust Dr. Faust and his team for my bilateral PAOs. I returned to running a quarter marathon, a tough mudder in Europe and a triathlon without hip pain. I am grateful Dr. Faust is able to provide this specialty surgery in Louisiana. I have no regrets. I am thankful everyday for my healthy hips.

Dr Robert Easton in 2016 revised my right hip. This was my 8th revision surgery. Dr Easton and his…read morePA and other staff were as good as it gets. Dr Easton is a very good surgeon and explained everything that was wrong with my last hip replacement. The socket kept separating from my pelvic bone and had rotated forward. Dr Easton explained that it would be a very complicated and complex operation but he was going to have five options to use if the one before that didn't work. Dr Easton got it on the first option and 6 hours later when I woke up in the recovery room I knew just by the way it felt that the surgery was successful. He is a very good listener and answers all of your questions. Praise God for Dr Easton and his staff. James Scooter Heine
