At the follow up appointment I was told of my treatment options which will be with a different specialist. The staff have been friendly and patient with me during my appointments. Two weeks later when I arrived at the appointment I was told my appointment was canceled and that they do not take new clients after 3:30pm. A few thoughts: why was I given an appointment at 4:30 if that was not available? After telling them why I wanted the 4:30 time slot due to my job, why wasn't I alerted this wasn't an option? Why wasn't I contacted about a possible cancellation? After asking all these questions, I was told they called twice from an unknown number-- but no voicemail was left. As a teacher, I do not answer my phone between the hours of 7:30-3:30pm. Without a voicemail or text from an unknown number, I do not dial back. When I said that I cannot make the appointment time before 4:15, they said bye-bye. In recap, they did not email me or leave a voicemail saying they were cancelling my appointment. I had to drive from out of town to find out they cancelled my appointment without my knowledge and would not see me. Extremely unprofessional.

Have had nothing but problems since coming here in January or 2023. Originally came for eczema…read moretreatment and after my first visit the doctor "forgot" to send my prescription in and I was completely forgotten for 4 months until my eczema flared up so severely I had to contact them again and ask them to fill it! I went in again in June of 23 and was seen by a PA, Shawn, who was very nice and helped me get started with Dupixent's QuickStart program, as well as an emergency sample to help calm my skin. However, 3 months later I was dropped for some unknown when I moved from Visalia to Exeter even though there had been no change in my insurance. In addition to this I was also unable to fill my normal acne prescriptions as well. I was told the person originally running it moved so that patient volumes had increased and Shawn couldn't see me, no big deal. When asked if they could simply refill my prescriptions over the phone I was told I had to come in (even though I was already approved for the Dupixent in Nov) so instead I booked another appt with Dr. Lutzker who happened to be the next available. I left work early and when I showed up for my appointment I was informed he had left for the day and that the staff forgot to call me and inform me-thanks! Not only did I have to take off work, drive from Exeter to Visalia, but now I had to do it a second time because they forgot to call me?! Fast forward to my appt with Dr. Lutzker. He was incredibly rude and did not once let me speak or inform him of my problems or concerns. It was so bad that even his assistant apologized when he left the room. Not only did he completely disregard my request to fill my prescriptions, but he sent me home with 7 new ones! Why? Why is that necessary when 1) I already informed him I had tried them and they didn't work and 2) I JUST wanted a refill!!! I was told to come back in two weeks and if it didn't work I could have an emergency kenalog shot even though "it is incredibly bad for women." Then why prescribe it to a woman?! Having already received one from a previous doctor at another practice, I had no interest and instead asked for a sample of the dupixent, since I had received one at Luxe prior to getting approved for the medication from my insurance. I was told no. Fast forward to my next appointment with Dr. Lutzker again, and I was informed that I was approved of my prescription back in November, "and why didn't I say so?" I DID! He had just interrupted me so many times I couldn't actually say it! But at least I could finally get some relief and get my shot I knew that worked-or so I thought. So it was sent in to Walgreens for pick up. I drive there to pick up and was informed it was not sent. I called the office and they informed me that they would send it right over so again, I drive across town to Walgreens the next day because it's the only pharmacy that carries it but again, nothing. After going back and forth with them, I was finally put into contact with Devan, their patient coordinator. At this point I feel as though she knows exactly who I am because I have called with so many problems regarding my prescription during the first time when I was trying to get approved. I last spoke to her two months ago and she assured me she would take care of everything and help me get the treatment I need. Since then I have not heard a word. At this point I give up and am going to seek care somewhere else. I work for the state and have the best PPO plan they offer, my insurance is not the problem, this office is. Hopefully they can get their act together soon, a patient shouldn't have to beg for treatment! Posting this review so others can save their time and money and find providers who actually care about their patients.

My review is solely for the staff, not the Doctor…read more This office took over for my doctor who retired. First let me say when I scheduled my appointment, I knew my doctor was retiring but did not know the new doctor was already in. That was my first surprise. This wasn't relayed to me on the phone when I requested to schedule an appointment with dr. Villiard. Not sure which office scheduled the appointment and who dropped the ball on that one. As a nurse, I know quite a bit about scopes of practice. It was disappointed to hear the girl who escorted me into the room (not sure her title but know she was not an NP, PA or MD), tell me "oh that's easy, they will just cut it right off. To my dismay this was not the procedure the NP suggested. On this visit she suggested steroid injections and was reluctant to start them as I was getting a steroid injection into my foot for another issue. We rescheduled a visit xxx amount of weeks after this one and my foot appointment. When I didn't end up getting the foot injection, I called back to see if I could get in sooner. When I explained the situation, the girl who answered the phone cut me off, comes back and says that they want me to wait until after my foot injection. When I had to repeat myself to explain again that I did not get the foot injection which is why I was requesting an appointment sooner she seemed annoyed and gave me an appointment. I shouldn't have had to repeat myself had she listened the first time and don't take it out on the patient because of your error. The next incident occurred at my actual appointment. I go expecting to get an injection. This time I meet with the doctor who tells me an injection is not going to work if what I was wanting is to reduce the appearance of the growth. That all the injection would do is soften the growth. He said it would need to be surgically removed but he would not do it unless I could be scheduled the same day for radiation. This was incredibly upsetting as 1) the NP who saw me first did not say any of this and obviously put the expectation that the shot would accomplish what I wanted and it would be done on my next visit (why I even scheduled the appointment). To waste a copay to literally have the same exact consultation twice was a joke. My copay is $90. Wasted for less than 5 min to basically be told I needed to schedule an appointment for an excision. Could have done that the first time. When I mentioned my discontent to the front desk the gentleman really said nothing. Not even an apology. My last complaint was that they were of ZERO help in assisting me with finding someone who could administer radiation after the procedure. I called around to several places with zero luck and even had a really hard time getting an answer because they seemed to only want to deal with a referral. That's when I decided I was done with this office and found another dermatologist who removed my growth and used an alternative method than radiation. Which I was super relieved seeing as I was not happy about having to get radiation at any dose. Would NOT recommend this office based on my experiences.

Yelp Review for Dr. William Hovick's Office…read more **1/5 Stars** If you're looking for a doctor who actually listens, cares, and follows basic medical protocols, **this is NOT the place for you.** When I first visited this office, I was dealing with **severe, cyclical inflammation and pain** that left me **debilitated for two weeks every month.** I was actively seeking answers and relief, but instead of being seen by **Dr. William Hovick himself**, I was assigned a **nurse practitioner** who, to put it bluntly, seemed more like a **part-time clown than a medical professional.** After explaining my symptoms in detail, his response? **"Boy, you have a lot wrong with you."** - Really? That's the kind of dismissive, unhelpful comment you'd expect from someone completely unqualified--not from someone responsible for patient care. Despite my **clear and serious symptoms**, his only "insight" was that I was just **"getting old."** No real investigation, no concern, just an outright refusal to acknowledge that something was seriously wrong. Then, after **handing me a sample of Voquezna (a new stomach medication at the time), they FAILED to record it in my medical file.** Could you imagine if I had an allergic reaction and they had no record of what they gave me? That's basic medical malpractice right there. For **two years**, I **begged** for a referral to a specialist. They dragged their feet, ignored my concerns, and only after persistent pushing did I **finally** get referred. Now, under a specialist's care, I'm on **Celebrex and Sulfasalazine, and my pain levels are significantly improved.** So much for it being "just old age," huh? **Fast forward to today**--I was **8 minutes late** to an appointment due to road construction **right in front of their office** (which they should be aware of), and they **acted pleased to tell me that the "doctor" had already left.** Clearly, they **prioritize rigid scheduling over actual patient care.** ### **Bottom Line:** **This office is a perfect example of everything wrong with the healthcare system.** **They don't take patient concerns seriously, they fail at basic record-keeping, and they act dismissive instead of diagnosing real conditions.** **If you actually care about your health, find a doctor who does too.** **Avoid this place unless you enjoy being ignored, belittled, and misdiagnosed.**
