Have had nothing but problems since coming here in January or 2023. Originally came for eczema treatment and after my first visit the doctor "forgot" to send my prescription in and I was completely forgotten for 4 months until my eczema flared up so severely I had to contact them again and ask them to fill it! I went in again in June of 23 and was seen by a PA, Shawn, who was very nice and helped me get started with Dupixent's QuickStart program, as well as an emergency sample to help calm my skin. However, 3 months later I was dropped for some unknown when I moved from Visalia to Exeter even though there had been no change in my insurance. In addition to this I was also unable to fill my normal acne prescriptions as well. I was told the person originally running it moved so that patient volumes had increased and Shawn couldn't see me, no big deal. When asked if they could simply refill my prescriptions over the phone I was told I had to come in (even though I was already approved for the Dupixent in Nov) so instead I booked another appt with Dr. Lutzker who happened to be the next available. I left work early and when I showed up for my appointment I was informed he had left for the day and that the staff forgot to call me and inform me-thanks! Not only did I have to take off work, drive from Exeter to Visalia, but now I had to do it a second time because they forgot to call me?! Fast forward to my appt with Dr. Lutzker. He was incredibly rude and did not once let me speak or inform him of my problems or concerns. It was so bad that even his assistant apologized when he left the room. Not only did he completely disregard my request to fill my prescriptions, but he sent me home with 7 new ones! Why? Why is that necessary when 1) I already informed him I had tried them and they didn't work and 2) I JUST wanted a refill!!! I was told to come back in two weeks and if it didn't work I could have an emergency kenalog shot even though "it is incredibly bad for women." Then why prescribe it to a woman?! Having already received one from a previous doctor at another practice, I had no interest and instead asked for a sample of the dupixent, since I had received one at Luxe prior to getting approved for the medication from my insurance. I was told no. Fast forward to my next appointment with Dr. Lutzker again, and I was informed that I was approved of my prescription back in November, "and why didn't I say so?" I DID! He had just interrupted me so many times I couldn't actually say it! But at least I could finally get some relief and get my shot I knew that worked-or so I thought. So it was sent in to Walgreens for pick up. I drive there to pick up and was informed it was not sent. I called the office and they informed me that they would send it right over so again, I drive across town to Walgreens the next day because it's the only pharmacy that carries it but again, nothing. After going back and forth with them, I was finally put into contact with Devan, their patient coordinator. At this point I feel as though she knows exactly who I am because I have called with so many problems regarding my prescription during the first time when I was trying to get approved. I last spoke to her two months ago and she assured me she would take care of everything and help me get the treatment I need. Since then I have not heard a word. At this point I give up and am going to seek care somewhere else. I work for the state and have the best PPO plan they offer, my insurance is not the problem, this office is. Hopefully they can get their act together soon, a patient shouldn't have to beg for treatment! I came in to have a spot removed on my right leg. A female nurse practitioner provided the service. I had to call and schedule a follow up appointment because she froze a very large area and I needed a prescription crram to help ot heal. Now I have scar on my right leg that I should not have had. I suggest that she gets more training. Now I have a scar for lufe. read more

Lux has moved to a new fancy location off Lovers Lane! It's a really nice location! Beautiful suites. I recently went in to get a couple lesions on my scalp biopsied just to make sure they were benign. Since they were we were, I was able to freeze them off with the liquid nitrogen. Ez pz. The whole procedure was quick and easy. It only hurt a little! Luckily I was able to opt for the lidocaine injection so the freezing was tolerable! I love going to Lux because you're in and out but you never feel rushed. Dr. Shawn VanGronigen is amazing!! Great bedside manner! He's proactive and kind. read more

Had an appointment to be assessed on some issues I was having. Dr looked at my skin, ordered lab and said they'll go over it with me when the results come in. Three major problems: 1) I never received ANY follow up from doctor or staff 2) Trying to reach anyone on the phone is impossible 3) I never received a bill for services until over 6 months later when I get a notice from a collections agency. So unprofessional. I would give zero stars if I could. Save yourself the frustration (and your credit score) and go with another provider. This place is more trouble than it's worth. I just wish I had read all the reviews before I made the appointment. It appears that the front office has a reputation of poor performance. read more

Before they transferred to Lux I had a few moles removed - when they moved to Lux I asked for almost a year about my bill from before they transferred and the results of my biopsy since it had come back that I needed further removal of the mole. They told me I would "get billed" but I never did. The office was no help at all and gave me the runaround. I took my kids here for a few years to treat some issues with them then suddenly 3 years later got slammed with a 250$ bill from before they transferred. No details about the bill, they couldn't provide me with my test results, they just wanted me to pay this bill when they failed to actually provide me with a detailed bill or results of my biopsy. The doctor had good bedside manner but the overall office is a mess! It's a shame there are few options for dermatologists in the area. read more

This was a terrific experience! I went in to have a couple of cysts removed, and the staff was extremely friendly and caring. From start to finish, it was a top-notch experience. I don't normally remember everyone's names at a location, but the ladies that took care of me were so excellent, I had to learn their names! Taneka was the receptionist; very personable and delightful personality. Lisa and Ale assisted in my procedure and were very thoughtful and wonderful at explaining everything that was going on. The P.A. that performed the procedure was Sylvia, who had a delightful disposition and did her job with expertise and great consideration. They made sure that I was comfortable and that the areas were completely numb before excising the cysts. I highly recommend this place! read more

Absolutely the worst experience ever. Do not go here. Had MOHS surgery.. months later noticed same blemish where surgery was. Went back to Porterville office in February. They took a biopsy. Was told it's fine nothing there. Went to Visalia office. Had 5 biopsy's done. Had an appointment to see them three weeks later. Called before appt to see if I could get results as I am self pay over the phone specially if there's no procedure going to take place. Was told oh no you need to come on he will freeze a few spots tell u results. All I wanted to know is if I was going to have to have surgery again. Nope wouldn't tell me. Went to my office visit met by a very aggressive abrasive talked more than she listened receptionist. After her and I went round and round a more reasonable receptionist stepped in and explain to me yes you can absolutely get your results over the phone absolutely here's your results on paper. Con total con a total con..If the truth be told and I had money I would get a lawyer and probably take them to court because I do not feel that I was treated respectfully nor was the environment in the doctor office the last time I was there comfortable the doctor and the medical assistant we're not getting along. Nope I'm pissed February I had a biopsy and I was told it was fine and here we are in October in the same spot I've done paid out $700 to be told I gotta have surgery in the same spots where I already had surgery that's not good service in my opinion. After sitting in the waiting room for an hour, I finally got to see Dr. Lutzker. He spent the first 5 minutes trying to scare me, but after dealing with pre-cancerous cells since 1982, I wasn't buying his idea that I need to see him every 4 to 6 weeks. During his ramblings he made sure to put down Obama: if he were the Dr. he wouldn't do anything about my pre-cancerous cells, and President Biden: if he were the Dr. he wouldn't even be aware of my pre-cancerous cells, while mentioning that Trump as Dr. would have been able to take care of things. He also rambled on about all his Dr. friends who fly planes, and one in particular who got to have a lunch date with Henry Kissinger. His assistant actually cut off his ramblings to ask when I should return, because she obviously was tired of his ramblings and had other things to do. I won't be returning to his office in 5 weeks, but will cancel my next appointment.All things considered, I don't think pre-cancerous cells is a good enough reason to visit Dr. Lutzker again. read more

Arrived 30min early to fill out paperwork (as I would expect being a NEW patient), but ended up waiting 1.5hrs to see the doctor. Once the doctor arrived, he DID NOT perform a skin exam and prescribed me antibiotics for 15 days. He sat in his chair and talked to me about his work in various locations around the country. How can you prescribe a long antibiotic course when you NEVER EXAMINED THE PROBLEM? I will never go back here. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

This place is a JOKE!!! Avoid at all costs. Went to have a mole removed that needed stitches taken out 2 weeks later. Finished procedure and was told to make appointment. Everyone was gone, doors were locked and I left after waiting 15 min for someone to show back up. Called multiple times to tell them a stitch popped and to make appointment but they never called me back. 2 weeks later I finally get ahold of someone and they tell me to go to my primary care physician to get the stitches out. I really don't understand how they are still in business!!! read more

I ALWAYS struggled with my skin being oily, and having acne (pcos). I am so happy i finally went to the dermatologist! Dr. Nguyen was so friendly and knew exactly what i needed. My skin has never been clearer! i have already refereed tons of family/friends to him! His assistant and the nurse who took my back were both very friendly. Beyond disappointed in the services that I received from Lux in terms of treatment. My first appointment consisted of Dr Lutzker talking about gibberish for 5 minutes out of the 10 minute appointment. I was asked to remove my mask for him to view the acne on my face, I had barely taken the mask away from my face before I was told to put it back on. He basically was seeing whether I had "severe" acne or not, which I don't. He then threw me on meds that I accepted because I was desperate. I go back and consult with my family, we do some research on the medication that have EXTREME side effects. My next appointment, I addressed how uncomfortable I was taking the medication (that I truly didn't need in the first place) to which he scolded me and lectured me about the side effects on ibuprofen and if I was paranoid about that too.. I was put on a different medication. Putting me on medication when I didn't need was for their benefit, not mine. They did nothing. My questions were brushed off and I left both appointments feeling unsatisfied and quite honestly disregarded by the doctor. I switched over to a different doctor and was charged 150 dollars for a 10 min appointment. I was given a face wash (that I paid for) which has helped clear a majority of my acne, so that doesn't feel like a waste but it feels extremely overpriced. It was also extremely difficult to get someone to take care of my prescriptions, I have to nag at times to be taken care of. The only good about this place is the ONE office staff lady at the front desk. She's insanely sweet. read more

Today I went in for my first appointment to get some moles checked. As soon as I entered the office I was greeted with a smile. I filled out the necessary paper work and waited about 10 minutes before I was seen. The office was clean and the staff was very friendly. The doctor was very knowledgeable, assuring, and friendly. I had a biopsy done by the PA Jock. I specifically told him that my lab work needed to be sent to Quest otherwise Ill be charged. He replied that they send there biopsy back east and if I get a bill for me to call him. I told him again my biopsy needs to go thru quest or I will be charged. I received a bill in the mail to the place back east where they send their Biopsy's to. I called the office and there reply was its to late that I have to pay the bill. read more

I had a surgical procedure back in December 2015 at which time I was told I had to pay $230.00 upfront because my deductible had not been met according to my insurance. (Not true). My insurance in fact paid the entire bill and now I have been fighting with their office since March to get my refund. The manager keeps saying she is putting it through but after another phone call yesterday, it still has not been taken care of. I will be getting an attorney involved in this one. New patient and front office staff is very rude! Recommended by pediatrician. Our insurance was newly effective so I didn't have my card but had all the information provided by the insurance company. That wasnt good enough. I hope the doctor is good. If you dont like your job find a different one! read more
