There are loads and loads of shops in the Quadrant like HMV, Game , W H smiths , Clinton cards and Debenhams. It can get pretty packed out with shoppers at peak times and especially with the run up to christmas. At christmas there is usually a lovely christmas tree with lots of decorations which make it look really nice. The shopping centre always looks clean and tidy and you will always find a cleaner pottering around.

Shops you find in every town in Britain. The Quadrant itself is quite pleasant though, it has a predominently glass roof which allows it to be very bright and airy inside. There's a gallery cafe which looks out on to the main concourse of the shopping centre which is great for people watching. The bus station also comes out of one end, so finding it is very easy, and also you won't have far to carry bags to get a bus. Or even to get to your car if you choose to park in the NCP which also adjoins the Quadrant. You can also get to Swansea Market via an entrance in the Quadrant. The largest store by far is Debehams, which is a large department store and takes up almost an entire wing of its own. ANECDOTE: I was sick on the doors of Debehams one Christmas as I was shopping for presents and very rapidly came down with a virus. There are public toilets (free) upstairs which are clean and well maintained. The buidling is decorated according to the seasons, and a large Christmas tree is the focus during the winter.

Other shops include Poundland, TX Maxx, Card Factory, Store Twenty One, F. Hinds and Claire's. I couldn't find the wooden statue of Merlin yesterday which is supposed to stand here perhaps it has been removed for renovation or repair. Merlin's Walk is situated next to the bus station and there's a large car park at the Argos end too. Opening times: Mon-Sat: 9am 5.30pm Sundays: 10am 4pm (Late night shopping at Christmas)

We bought Tenby Pirate T shirts which, whilst not of the highest quality, mean we didn't run out of clean clothes and avoided a trip to the laundrette. We bought enough rubber blowfish to provide all the prizes at the children's birthday parties for th efollowing month. We bought a bag to carry our goodies in. And even the children found things they liked - though I was obviously too excited about my own purchases to take much notice of what they were.

Then at the very back of the store they have the bits you can buy for your house like plates, kettles, and glasses etc.. I do find some of the bit a a bit expensive but you can see they are good quality. Then to the left of the shop they sell craft stuff such as wool for knitting, cross stitches, patterns etc.. There is a another entrance door here so if you are just after buying some wool you can go in this way. Upstairs there is more clothes and underwear for sale and there is a big cafe. They sell some lovely food in the cafe we often go there when we have been shopping and need to sit down.

Everything fresh and looked after and the staff extremely friendly - a great service altogether. I think we just discovered our favourite place for coffee in Carmarthen. UPDATE DECEMBER 2008: Another excellent visit to this pleasant cafe. Discovered today that all coffee and teas there are Tradefair and the very helpful and knowedgeable staff member, Ben, made us aware that the cakes and the other food items available cater for different allergies and dietary needs. For instance, there is a lovely gluten-free Christmas cake slice available at the moment. All staff are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

This is quite a big store and it doesnt feel as squashed as some stores. The coffee shop is indeed an assett and always seems to have a steady flow of custom. The staff are friendly and able to help with any queries without any problems. A good all round service.

Although it is normally quite bus you can easily find spaces. Most of the shop is situated on the ground floor with good disable access, however the bedding furniture department is on the first floor but there is lift access if requested. Inside the shop is a collection of things such as crockery, kitchen items and gifts. All products are of a high quality and so the prices reflect this. However when there are sales on you can get things reduced by up to seventy per cent. At the back of the shop isa large furniture section-some of it handmade and a garden center. There is also a small restaurant that serves nice food including Sunday roast dinners for the family.
