My recent visit was not bad. Just not outstanding. I beat the lunch crowd to the counter service and ordered the roast pork platter ($14.72). It came with a large fountain drink/tea and was served with yellow rice, plantains and a small cup of black beans. The pork and onions were good. Moist and a good helping. The yellow rice was nothing special. But it wasn't dry. Plantains were, again, ok. And the black beans had nice seasoning. All served on a Dixie paper plate with plastic utensils. Quick and efficient. There is plenty of seating, all in an open dining area. No privacy. And it's okay if you bring your mail or a package to be shipped. Those services are available just inside the front door, to the left.

Ordered the 3-egg breakfast burrito. Sorry, I've prepared 3-egg breakfasts for myself nearly everyday for 15 years on the Slow Carb Diet and this was probably 2 small eggs. 2 pieces of green pepper. I picked up my order at the counter. Wrapped in paper, on a paper plate with plastic fork and paper napkin. With the foam cup and plastic lid, the disposable trash pile was almost as big as the burrito. I asked for a metal fork. Nope. Go to the Sunrise Cafe. Swampy's 5-Tail Review is IN! (Or should we say... )…read more First things first... ever wonder why it's called Lily's Restaurant? We did too--so we asked! Turns out, the name has a heartfelt backstory as warm and welcoming as the folks who work there. It's that kind of place--where curiosity meets kindness and the food steals the show. Vic, Veronica, and your favorite foodie gator, Swampy, stopped in for a bite and waddled out full, happy, and totally impressed. The steak sandwich? Tail-flippin' phenomenal. Juicy, flavorful, and grilled to perfection--it's the kind of sandwich that deserves a fan club. The Cuban coffee? A tiny cup of bold, beautiful magic. Smooth, strong, and served with just the right amount of sweetness--it had Swampy buzzing with delight (and maybe salsa dancing in the parking lot). The ambiance? Relaxed, inviting, and 100% Florida-approved. Think: sunshine through the windows, friendly faces, and that laid-back vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. Whether you're a local or just passing through Port St. Lucie, do yourself a favor and stop by Lily's. Great food, even better people, and coffee that'll make you believe in love at first sip. Swampy says: 5 outta 5 gator tails. Would chomp again.

Decided to try this Mexican restaurant for the first time last night. It is in a small strip…read moreshopping mall and is a small and cozy restaurant. They were having margarita on the rocks as a special, so I ordered it, but I asked that it would be a weak one because I was driving I have to say when I got the bill I was shocked. A regular margarita on the rocks was a few dollars because of the special they were having. But for a margarita that hardly had any liquor in it they charged me $16. They called it a skinny margarita. I think that there was some kind of miscommunication between my server who did not speak or apparently understand English very well. Because this drink was more expensive than most of the entrées. He did not give me the special drink or the special price but apparently they invented something called a skinny margarita and that justified $16. I took a star off for that As far as the food, it was excellent. Both my party and I had chli relleno and a taco. This is one of the few places you can actually get a hard shell taco, which is what I prefer. The service was good with a smile. But again the miscommunication about the margarita was astounding. Because of the price of a margarita or out of the gouging of the customer for this very small restaurant, I took off a star. If this was a top-notch Mexican restaurant in let's say Palm Beach or Jupiter then you know you're going to pay $16 for a margarita. But when you're eating at a small restaurant in a strip mall in Fort Pierce, you do not expect to pay $16 for a weak Margarita.
