I reserved an evening cruise for a surprise engagement and they were both very interesting, polite and welcoming people. My guests were blown away by the experience and I hit it out of the park with my surprise, my fiance loved it. I spoke with Capt. Claude before hand and even though I didn't need to ask for much I felt that they were welcoming and would do anything to make the experience a memorable one. Even a last minute request made within reason was accomodated. First of all the boat is beautiful, and it's big and I think that 6-10 people could comfortably enjoy a cruise with out feeling cramped. Every one of my guests were excited and comfortable. ..light snacks were provided and drinks were made available even though this was BYOB. Don't worry about utensils like I did, there were glasses for the toast and champagne had i forgotten to get some. I will spare no praises in saying that they certainly made this experience as easy as possible for me and I appreciate it.

My father was boating alone on the North river last week, not in a rental boat but his own. He had…read moreanchored up and was fishing. It started raining, so he decided to leave, but could not get his motor started. He ended up pulling anchor and letting the current take him up the river trying to spot somebody to help him. He tried blowing his air horn a few times, but nobody heard or responded and it finally ran out of air. He drifted for quite a while, more than an hour, in heavy rain. When he finally drifted past Mary's he dropped the anchor and began waving his rain coat in the air to get somebody' attention. Somebody from Mary's took a skiff out to him and towed him all the way back to the boat launch on the South river. I am beyond grateful for the way they took care of him. He is in his 70's now, a former Navy guy, and somebody that always knew how to handle himself on the water. When they brought him back, he was cold and tired. I am so glad that the nice people there helped him out. He could have ended up with hypothermia very easily that day. On a side note, my dad and I used to rent boats from Mary's way back in the early 80's...they have been there a very long time and their rates are very reasonable. What impresses me most is how they treat people. They helped my dad out a lot. So much, that I decided I just had to write this review. Whoever it was that helped my Dad, Thank You!

Bar is hidden to the left of the food station but keep looking til you find it. Bloody Mary was great and all other drinks were good too.

She is articulate and personable combining just the right amount of enthusiasm and humor throughout the trip. You could feel not only her energy but her authentic respect and devotion to educating others about these giants of the ocean. I feel blessed everyday that I get to live near the ocean here in Massachusetts and to know these amazing mammals live and breathe in our waters. The return trip from Provincetown on 7/18/26 was unacceptable and genuinely unsafe. I've spent…read moreyears in the boating industry, and what I witnessed was not a matter of "rough seas" -- it was a matter of poor judgment and improper vessel handling. The captain maintained a speed completely inappropriate for the sea state, causing violent hull slamming for nearly the entire crossing. Passengers were being thrown around, hanging onto tables just to stay upright. Several people were vomiting. This went on for an hour. At multiple points, the impact force was strong enough that injuries could easily have occurred and may have. With roughly 100 passengers aboard, this was not just uncomfortable -- it was dangerous. They better hope lawsuits do not come their way. The weather and wave conditions were fully predictable well before departure. Any competent operator would have known to reduce speed, adjust heading, or delay the trip. Instead, the captain chose to plow through steep chop at high speed, ignoring basic seamanship principles and putting everyone at unnecessary risk. To make matters worse, the crew announcer praised the captain afterward and asked for tips, while many passengers were shaken and demanding refunds. The disconnect between the crew's messaging and the reality of the situation was astonishing. This was not an unavoidable rough ride -- it was the result of reckless decision‑making. The captain's handling of the vessel was unacceptable, and the company should be held accountable for allowing a trip to be run in such a manner. Captain Johns needs to re-evaluate their quality control and training protocols.

Community Boating offers all of that especially when a person can socially distance herself on a kayak in perfect summer weather where the sky is shining brightly, the Charles is shimmering, and the humidity level was comfortable. I liked that you could safely launch and return the kayak because they have this mechanism that's like a saw tooth where you use the paddle to provide momentum on your departure and return. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I witnessed staffers coordinating getting sailboats out and giving lessons. My one criticism is that I wished they had more expanded hours during the week. They open at 3 pm and close at sunset.

I appreciate how much we repeatedly practiced the important and practical skills needed to operate a sailboat under power, including docking, standing turns, fueling, and more. We were also fortunate that our instructor, Captain Dave Pelkey, was in possession of vast sailing knowledge and experience, which he shared often, explaining the reasons behind everything we were doing, not only how to do it. My husband got to learn a little bit about sailing when helping Gary. Make sure to bring sun screen. The trip is about 3 hours long.
