We had a fantastic time!! The tour was organized and on time, the crew was Fantastic. We opted for the oyster tour, which was a lot of fun. When booking, there was a 21+ note (we have a 12yo who loves oysters and can absolutely behave with adults). I called and it was confirmed for all-ages (just no alcohol for those under 21) and was able to take my booking over the phone. The weather wasn't great - some rain, but the captain and crew were prepared with ponchos for those who wanted them - and even better kept the drinks flowing and the laughter and fun never stopped. Would absolutely do another event with the Classic Harbor Line. read more

I had such a great experience on the Adirondack day sail. I don't know much about sailing so I didn't know if the weather conditions were going to be suitable for actually using the sail but apparently they were! Besides pulling in and out of the dock, our sail was up the whole time! I was also impressed that the crew gets up and walks around to take drink orders and bring them to you, I wasn't expecting that kind of service. I got rosé and it was good! Overall so fun, now I want to go back and try the sunset experience! read more

Went here with friends on a cruise Sunday evening, where the weather forecast was windy and cool weather. Despite this, we still enjoyed the tour and really appreciated the fact that we were able to sit inside and still get a view and a seat. There were other lines we looked at that seem to be busier so we really enjoyed how uncrowded this tour was the boat takes you on a tour of the surrounding harbor and explains all of the sites and history. You even get to see a cannon launched. They have drinks and snacks for sale with a couple of differing options on the top of the boat. We were disappointed that they did not have more warm drinks such as hot chocolate. They hey also do not advertise that they have some different options above. Another thing I wish, was that the windows were larger from the inside of the boat, as it was extremely windy when going outside and frigid. read more

We took a sunset sailing cruise with Classic Harbor Line Boston on August 26, and are so glad we selected them! Amazing experience! The crew was super friendly and attentive, and you aren't on a large ship crammed full of people. Another bonus: The Classic Harbor Line sunset sailing cruise lasts 1/2 hour longer than the one provided by the other "popular" cruise line in the area. We watched the other sunset cruises heading into port while we continued to relax and enjoy the pleasant evening and beautiful city lights from the harbor. We came on the Northern Lights ship because our other booking on the "floating ballroom" was canceled, and we are SO GLAD we went on this cruise. We found out later it is a family run business...and they get their beautiful boats which are made on the Hudson River in New York. Beautiful ship with gorgeous natural wood inside. The main indoor room has a nice bar, and a really nice setup of the tables, for groups big or small. The buffet brunch was REALLY good, with delicious home fries, quiche, delish croissants and danish (not boxed), salad, French toast, yoghurt parfaits, and so much more!! They have a coffee bar with very good coffee, and tons of cocktails and mocktails to choose from...along with lots of beer. The staff was really nice and helpful. I would totally do this again when we have visitors come into town. Well done and we'll certainly be back! read more

Paid for an hour and a half cruise but was only about 50 mins. Then shewed off the boat after we purchased our 2nd drink and had no idea we were pulling into dock the boat. Took the northern lights sunset cruise. The charcuterie board was average. Nothing special but no real complaints. Drinks were decent. The boat itself was beautiful. Very nice interior though we spent the whole trip on the top deck. Seating on the top deck could be improved. There are a few comfy couches and chairs towards the center but majority of the seating is wooden benches with no cushions around the perimeter of the deck. The harbor was underwhelming. Narration was too quiet and only a few announcements were made. I would have liked to learn more about what we were seeing. The route also crosses back over the same few sights multiple times so it gets kind of boring after a while. We did get to watch as an old ship shoot off a canon and that was pretty cool! Overall I wouldn't take this cruise again but I'm not mad about it. read more

We took the Schooner Adirondack Oyster Sail June 13 and it was amazing. Captain Eric was excellent and we had lots of wind. The crew was very quietly attentive and deckhands very capable. Best part of our annual Christmas Trip to Boston! Did the carols and cocoa cruise. We had no idea there was going to be a live jazz band on board! They really should name this Christmas Jazz Cruise. The drinks were insanely good-loved the Merry Mai Tai! 1.5 hours on the harbor with live music and drinks. We did get a half cup of cocoa-but this was much more adult friendly and orientated. We were allowed to go outside and the only thing more we could've asked for was better weather. Will be on my list next year!! read more

I recently went on a Sunset Cruise with CHL Boston and had the best time! I have grown up in Boston and not often do I find things or places I haven't heard of before, but this cruise was so much fun. I got to see familiar spots in a new and cool way, while enjoying great indoor and outdoor seating options. And the crew was absolutely amazing, and to mention names, captain Dante did a great job at explaining what sights and landmarks we were seeing as we rode around the water! 10/10 would recommend doing one of these if you live in the city or are just visiting. read more

It was our first time on a sailboat. Unfortunately, there wasn't much wind. It was neat though seeing how enorenormousthe masts are and the work that goes in to putting them up and down and the inner workings of the boat. I was amazed it had two bathrooms and originally had bunk beds for 13 people! I think the captain should wear a small mic and they should have wireless speakers on the boat so the captain can talk about surroundings and the boat to everyone all at once. Glad they offered drinks and snacks to purchase. Maybe offer discount pricing on certain days so it's affordable to more people. read more

My wife and I took a sunset cruise of Boston harbor. It was overall, a pleasant experience. If you want to obtain a couch you will need to line up at least 15 minutes before they start boarding. The other seats are less comfortable. You can go upstairs and view the harbour from the outside and take great photos. The ship itself has a bit of a perfunctory look. It is not luxurious in and way and has scratches and a few random hanging wires. On the plus side I must give the company credit for having high enough ceilings as I'm very tall. There is not much in the way of a tour. They do occasionally narrate a few key points such as the USS Constitution and the firing of a cannon on another ship. However this is such a missed opportunity as there is so much history that they could discuss. And a lot of the cruise is repetitive, going up and down the same channel more than once. I wish they ventured past Castle Island, Winthrop, Moon Island, and Long Island, and gave a full narrated tour. You can purchase alcohol, cheese plates, potato chips, and grilled cheese sandwiches. They ran out of cheese plates when we were there so bring your own food if you are hungry, something they allow you to do. I wish though they served more food. If you are looking for an intimate cruise where you can whisper sweet romantic nothings in your partner's ears then the lack of a narrated tour is feature not a bug. I saw a lot of cute couples aboard. Guys: this is a excellent place to impress a girl! I got the strong sense that it's much more "fun" when you've had a few drinks, and looking around almost everyone was drinking. Of course this is Boston where we drink more per capita than almost anywhere else in the US. I personally only drink occasionally so I probably had a different experience. It will not be very educational for a child, although much better than not going at all! If you know the history perhaps you can explain it them as you pass different locations. Sometimes if you Google around, you can find discount tickets! I did! There are beautiful (although expensive) restaurants nearby so you can have a cruise followed by a luxurious dinner or vice versa. Together it would make a fabulous date. There is a parking garage nearby that has a special weekend rate of "only" $18. It is also close to South Station. There is a lot of nightlife nearby. read more

Yes it's a bit pricy for 2 hour cruise but it does come with brunch. It costs $70 for each adult, food was good with smoked salmon, salads, potatoes, bacon, pasties, bagels and other sweets. Only thing is salmon is one plate and no more after that is gone. Otherwise the food was good and service was self served. Drinks were coffee/tea/water. Cruise was fantastic and the views were priceless. The narrator was ok not that funny, just informational regurgitation. Love the views. Our cruise got a sunny but cold day, I loved it!!! read more
