The lechón was absolutely amazing--perfectly moist, crispy skin, and full of flavor. The arroz con gandules was just as delicious and paired perfectly with the pork. The only small miss for me was the cheesecake, as it didn't have a crust, which was unexpected. That said, it didn't take away from how much we enjoyed the overall meal. We sat outside where there was plenty of seating available, and as we ate, a line quickly formed at the door--so we were definitely glad we arrived when we did and avoided the wait. Overall, Lechonera El Mojito delivered an authentic and memorable Puerto Rican dining experience and is a must-stop if you're in Cayey or exploring the Pork Highway.

The arepa was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the pernil was very flavorful but not overly salty, and the lemonade was perfect (tasty with just the right amount of sweetness and tang). I would absolutely recommend the place to anyone driving by. The owner/chef is Venezuelan, and the place has been around for 3 years. They have a selection of vegan arepas as well, so it is vegetarian/vegan friendly.
