I arrived in the drive thru line at 8:03 not to mention the 5 cars ahead of me only to be told by an older gentleman that they are closed. 3 minutes passed 8 mind you. I love PDQ! I have visited the Fort Lauderdale, Clearwater, Jacksonville and the Illinois location. I am the #1 eater of zucchini fries. I love their zucchini fries with sweet sriracha...YUM!!!! I am a vegetarian and this is perfect for me to eat. It is funny, but I stopped by twice now, while I am in town and the cashiers are smiling at me, because I think they know: "He's back...for more zucchini fries!" Great job! Awful! I ordered the Cali club chicken sandwich and zucchini fries. My food was up and being delivered before I was even done getting my drink and napkins! Made to order and fresh, yea right! Surprised this PDQ has 4 stars. Came here for the first time tonight. Not impressed. Had been wanting to stop by here for a while and what a let down. I ordered 3 piece tenders meal with fries and soda and it was close to $8.00. The think skinny tenders are just ok...nothing special. The fries were wilted old things. TIRE DAMAGE!!! Wife went week of open and the food was great. The only problem we had is that their drive thru turn is not made with other than a standard length sedan in mind. After stopping and trying to maneuver our vehicle through we were forced to hit the curb to get through. BRAND NEW Flex and killed my rim for some chicken. Let me know if others have experienced the same. I saw a LOT of tread on both sides of the turn. Placed complaint with corporate. Let's see what they do... Have a great visit if you go, but... I come to this location once a week and I have never had a bad experience! The employees are friendly and attentive, the inside is always clean, and even during peak times the line always moves quickly. The management team is also so nice! When it comes to the food... I am OBSESSED! The crispy tender meal is my go to, but their crispy turkey breast sandwich is pretty to die for too. I know that this PDQ has not been open very long, but they did not leave a good impression on me. I have only been to PDQ once before and that was the 4th Street St. Pete location. What I remember about that experience was that they had amazing customer service and great shakes. At this location, the customer service was lacking. Sure, they had about 30 employees working there. However, they did nothing for me as a customer. I walked in with my heavy school bag planning on doing homework. The girl that took my order was efficient, but not really friendly. No biggie. I ordered and went to fill up my soda before picking a table. I had to wait 5 minutes to fill up my soda because an employee was blocking the right machine and a customer was taking forever at the left machine. The employee saw me and then continued screwing lids on and off of bottles. What? Then, as I was filling up my soda, a male employee came over and started flirting with her and I had to ask them to move to let me pass. Then I set my stuff down and started working on school work. They paged my name. I had to gather ALL my stuff up and walk up to pick up my tray. There were a TON of employees standing around doing nothing. There were even three teenagers washing their hands out by the soda machines (why is that out there?). Yet, none of them could walk the ten feet to my table to bring me the food? I even got a dirty look from the employee because it took me a few minutes to come up. I wish they would come with a better system, especially if they will always have so many employees not knowing what to do with themselves. The food was also mixed. The buffalo chicken sandwich was extremely delicious. However, it was on the small side. The zucchini fries tasted good at first.. However, a few fries in there was tons and tons of grease. If I wanted greasy, unhealthy fries, I would have saved $2 and ordered regular fries. I had to throw most of them out. It was also really loud. I was pretty ticked off, so I left to do homework elsewhere. As I tried to walk out, an employee stood in front of the door talking to another employee and again I had to ask to be let by (again, a male and female teenager flirting). Kids will be kids and all that, but I just felt really ripped off and unhappy as a customer. I paid over $10 for a tiny chicken sandwich, greasy zucchini fries and a small drink. I probably will give them another try eventually since they are close to my college. However, I really hope the management starts actually managing and taking care of the customers. I am going to give it a 4 and not a 3 because food was nice but with the expectation planted on me before my first visit this was a high quality place and my server could care less about that statement. We arrived and stood there in front of the server while she spoke with another employee, till I said out loud "Is this where we order" okay. My first time here yesterday, it seemed a little daunting with the line wrapped around the building, but they move quickly and even had a guy out giving samples of the yummy fresh squeezed lemonade, (SOLD!) the younger gentleman talking the orders was full of personality and had plenty patience while I was making my mind up lol. So I was told this place is better than Chick fil A so I decided to check it out. I got the chicken sandwich meal with fries and iced tea. The chicken was delicious, very juicy and great flavor however the fries were regular fries, can't compare to the Chick fil A waffle fries, and the sauces aren't as good as theirs. The bun was extremely buttery which wasn't my favorite. The inside was pretty busy, it was about 1pm on a Thursday and the drink area was really dirty/messy. There was no tongs to get the lemons out so I'm assuming people were just reaching in, no thank you. I would give it a second chance, to maybe try something different off the menu but if you are looking for a chicken sandwich with waffle fries, stick to Chick fil A. read more

I am a regular at PDQ and I am so happy this location opened up so I no longer have to drive so far eat at one. The level of quality maintained by PDQ should be the envy of the fast food world. It almost seems wrong calling this place a fast food chain because of the negative connotations that title summons but this is fast food done right in every sense. The food is always good, the service is always good, and the places (I'm including the St Pete location) are always clean. We stopped in rather late and were looking for a quick bite to eat which is what this place is all about. The menu is pretty simple with chicken being the main staple with a few side options to choose from. There was quite a bit of hype surrounding this place opening, but I find it to be a slightly healthier fast food option and not much more. The staff was very friendly and our food came out quickly, but I was not blown away by anything. Most items were cooked well, but the the zucchini fries were rather soggy. All in all I think PDQ is pretty average. The price is right for what they offer, and that is refreshing with the price of most eateries skyrocketing lately. Not sure if I will return to eat inside, but I would consider the drive thru for a quick bite again. read more

Went to PDQ for the first time today with my wife. Overall we had a great first experience. I had to 5 piece tender meal and she had the nuggets meal. Went on a Sunday, at noon, super busy, the drive they was pretty long, but once we placed our order it went fast. My boyfriend drives a Tundra, getting thru the drive thru was no problem at all ( no tire damage). You order at the window, so no crappy speaker to listen or talk thru, so they is no confusion with ordering. All the employees we came in contact with were super excited, friendly, and effective. Fried chicken strip were really tasty and juicy! Must try! Cali sandwich was delicious. I especially liked the bun! I ordered a side of the blueberry ginger dressing but I don't think id like it on a salad... We Order a vanilla milk shake... Pretty good. ( no were near as good as five guys).
