    If I could give zero stars I would. This guy is awful. Had him do the returns for my family after…read moremy accountant of 25 years retired. Both of my daughters got letters from the IRS indicating that their returns were wrong and they provided amended refunds. One daughter got the same notification from NYS. I contacted Paul numerous times via call and email and he did not reply with any information or analysis. Awful accountant--AVOID!!!!!

He wrote a letter to the IRS explaining it was his fault and asked them to waive the penalty and said once they agree to waive the penalty he will refund me what I paid him. I tried emailing him and calling him several times to find out how I can receive me refund for his incompetent services and he refused to respond. I went to his office today to ask him for my refund and to show him the letter as he told me to do and he refused to pay me what he promised. I have it on video. When I wrote a review on Google, he made the claim this is all because I asked him to make up numbers on my tax return. I have several emails from him acknowledging it was his fault as well as the letter he sent to the IRS stating it was his fault and he went and slandered me on a Google review. He promised to refund me what I paid him and now he is refusing. To put this into perspective, today is 3/2/2023 and I walked into his office in the 1st week of 2/2022 to do my 2021 returns and to date, I am still waiting for my refund from the IRS and it's only because he neglected to file my returns or to take an extension. He refuses to own his mistakes and lack of professionalism. Save yourself the hassle and find someone else.

    Made an appointment end of December. Arrived 9-10 minutes early, freezing cold. Door locked,went to…read morelocal restaurant waited 15 minutes & called was told she had an appointment ??? Went in & was NOW told I could only drop off my documents. When I go to a Dentist on appointment I EXPECT my Teeth to be cleaned or worked on ??? 2 weeks later picked up my Tax stuff, was in an envelope, so I left. At home checked, it was ONLY MY Documents not a tax form. OH it will be in a few weeks. Finally after 3 weeks I asked for a PDF to look at my TAXES. Asked about a week later for a hard copy, was told for ME to print it out of PDF, I told Patricia I had NO printer, used a Laptop. Now May 3rd no hard copy. Sent PDF to a different CPA my Son recommended. HE found 2 big errors. Cost ME $250 plus the $275 I paid Patricia. She is a nice Lady but not TO ME efficient. Maybe takes on too much work. Have gone to 3 other CPA's over the years. An appointment meant they would complete my taxes THAT day not 5-6 weeks later. She wants ME to tell her the mistakes she made. NOT my concern now, Just want a refund. PAUL RAFANELLO sold her his business because he retired after a bad stroke. I assumed she was like him, totally efficient but no. Just warning people to go elsewhere, not bad mouthing her, stating what happened to ME IF I get my refund I will bring her the new Documents. GOD BLESS AMERICA, my Son & I defended.

Pros: Willing to take on clients a week before tax day. Cons: Expect a week to process as opposed to the 1 hour it takes other places. Pros: One-on-one Cons: Decrease response time. No team to answer calls as the "we" "our" language of website suggests. Generally defensive: - Responds to customer's inquiry of unexpected line items by implying that the customer prefers a falsified document. - Responds to customer concern of delayed communication with offense. My assumption is that the CPA's intentions are good and that she is familiar with her field. If communication skills and timeliness improved and an appreciation of the impact that the lack thereof has on a client's time and checkbook were acknowledged, it would greatly improve the customer experience.
