WILL LIE ABOUT COPAY! DONT GO HERE! I was supposed to have a $35 copay and they charged me $250! I had even called in advance to verify insurance and that I would have the $35 copay for the usual dental exam, which they had confirmed, and said nothing of the "required new patient exams" they would force on me. When I get to the appt, they start pushing for other exams that they say they "need to do for first time appts". I kept saying to please see if it was covered by my insurance before performing as I was not familiar with these exams, but they said I had to do these exams as a new patient. Then I'm hit with a $250 bill. I always get my bi-annual dental exams and this was the first time I was charged over my $35 copay. When I called my insurance on why the services weren't covered, my insurance said the dentist did exams that were above the normal amount they were supposed to do for annual exams. Essentially the dentist told me these exams were required for new patients and were covered by my insurance, forced me to get exams even when I said I did not want to, and then I had to pay an unreasonable bill for an appt that should have been a normal annual appt. They also try to push invisalign and teeth whitening. read more

I was a patient at PDA Dental for over 20 years, but this recent experience completely changed my opinion. The billing clerk I interacted with was dismissive, unhelpful, and refused to process my Aetna discount program, even though the practice is listed as a participating provider and my enrollment was active. Instead of addressing my questions, she ignored me, repeatedly walked away while I had an Aetna representative on the phone ready to provide the necessary information, and refused to speak with them at all. This behavior was unprofessional and made an already stressful situation even more frustrating. Speaking with an insurance representative to resolve confusion is the bare minimum when handling patient billing, and unfortunately that was not my experience here. I hope the practice takes this feedback seriously and improves the professionalism, communication, and training of their billing staff. read more

This used to be a wonderful practice but it is now run by a corporation and it is terrible. One of the dentists (Yonaton Mehrzadi, DDS) did half my procedure and took my full payment but did NOT complete the work. The office is not helping me resolve this so I am taking them to small claims court as I paid over $1000 out of pocket and only had the first part of the procedure completed. Avoid this place it has changed and is no longer a good dental office. Makes me sad because I have been a client for many many years. Terrible. I just had a bad experience and I suppose it was bound to happen. I have been a patient of this practice going back many years when it was owned & run by its founder, Dr. David Ritholz -- a great dentist and a terrific person who genuinely cared about his patients and the quality of the entire practice. His staff and operation reflected that standard. Since he left, and then his son who took over, recently left, everything has changed with the exception of a couple of the wonderful original staff members. I feel for them. The corporation that now runs the operation and hires its practitioners and staff, couldn't care less about the quality of either the work nor the way in which it is delivered. Unresponsive. Unethical. I went through a painful crown process only to have the crown not fit properly and caused tremendous pain for weeks. The dentist only suggested a root canal. I was forced to start the process over at a new provider, who confirmed the poorly fitted crown was the cause of the problem and a root canal was not necessary. The office also committed insurance fraud by forcing me to pay out of pocket for estimated costs based on my insurance but never submitted the claim. I've emailed and called for the last 6 weeks with no response. The office manager always seems to be in a meeting until 2 but never returns my calls or emails. Unacceptable. read more

I had a routine cleaning at PDA Dental and it was clear before and after that there would not be a bill associated with the cleaning (after clarifying that I had already had X rays that year and that I did not want to pay for further X rays, and they said they would absorb the charges for this since I was a new customer). Fast forward 6 months and not only do I receive several statements from the for X rays, but they acknowledge they were not supposed to send me these, and the charges are sent to a collection agency. I am NEVER going to PDA Dental again. After going there for several years, one of the receptionists told me that they had to cancel my appt because I was 15 min late. I understand that its important to be timely but this can happen to anyone! So I told the receptionist, "isn't that within the time limit to honor the appt?" She said, "no, its 10 min." WTH? But I had called at 12:36pm (proof attached) to let you know I was running late and that I was already heading there! First off, I was 100% sure my appt was at 1:00pm and not 12:30pm, but when I saw the text I practically ran from my office to try and get there on time and hence why I called - to be courteous! Also, I never received a confirm email or text prior to that text! I rushed and yet when I got there they said that the only thing they could do was reschedule me for later in the day. I can't just take more time away from work!? Plus there was absolutely NO ONE in the waiting area! This type of customer service is inexcusable. You're treating people like a simple number! No flexibility on your part? Then none on mine either. There are so many other dentists in the area - you just lost a client - I mean a number (and several digits every six months!). But then again, I guess the owner doesn't need the money seeing as how PDA employees treat their clients. One star is too much. SMH! read more
