WILL LIE ABOUT COPAY! DONT GO HERE! I was supposed to have a $35 copay and they charged me $250! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had even called in advance to verify insurance and that I would have the $35 copay for the usual dental exam, which they had confirmed, and said nothing of the "required new patient exams" they would force on me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I get to the appt, they start pushing for other exams that they say they "need to do for first time appts". [[HIGHLIGHT]]I kept saying to please see if it was covered by my insurance before performing as I was not familiar with these exams, but they said I had to do these exams as a new patient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then I'm hit with a $250 bill. I always get my bi-annual dental exams and this was the first time I was charged over my $35 copay. When I called my insurance on why the services weren't covered, my insurance said the dentist did exams that were above the normal amount they were supposed to do for annual exams. Essentially the dentist told me these exams were required for new patients and were covered by my insurance, forced me to get exams even when I said I did not want to, and then I had to pay an unreasonable bill for an appt that should have been a normal annual appt. They also try to push invisalign and teeth whitening. read more

I was a patient at PDA Dental for over 20 years, but this recent experience completely changed my opinion. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The billing clerk I interacted with was dismissive, unhelpful, and refused to process my Aetna discount program, even though the practice is listed as a participating provider and my enrollment was active.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Instead of addressing my questions, she ignored me, repeatedly walked away while I had an Aetna representative on the phone ready to provide the necessary information, and refused to speak with them at all.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This behavior was unprofessional and made an already stressful situation even more frustrating. Speaking with an insurance representative to resolve confusion is the bare minimum when handling patient billing, and unfortunately that was not my experience here. This used to be a wonderful practice but it is now run by a corporation and it is terrible. One of the dentists (Yonaton Mehrzadi, DDS) did half my procedure and took my full payment but did NOT complete the work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The office is not helping me resolve this so I am taking them to small claims court as I paid over $1000 out of pocket and only had the first part of the procedure completed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Avoid this place it has changed and is no longer a good dental office. His staff and operation reflected that standard. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Since he left, and then his son who took over, recently left, everything has changed with the exception of a couple of the wonderful original staff members.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I feel for them. The corporation that now runs the operation and hires its practitioners and staff, couldn't care less about the quality of either the work nor the way in which it is delivered. The charge for a single set of Invisalign retainers is significantly more expensive than before(when Dr Ritholtz still there).You can get four sets elsewhere for the same price. I wouldn't recommend ordering retainers from this office. read more

Update: Why is it that PDA Dental can respond to a Yelp review but has YET to return my phone calls and emails to address the below matter???? BEWARE! Terrible dentist. Terrible practice. Unresponsive. Unethical. I went through a painful crown process only to have the crown not fit properly and caused tremendous pain for weeks. The dentist only suggested a root canal. I was forced to start the process over at a new provider, who confirmed the poorly fitted crown was the cause of the problem and a root canal was not necessary. The office also committed insurance fraud by forcing me to pay out of pocket for estimated costs based on my insurance but never submitted the claim. I've emailed and called for the last 6 weeks with no response. The office manager always seems to be in a meeting until 2 but never returns my calls or emails. Unacceptable. read more

I had a routine cleaning at PDA Dental and it was clear before and after that there would not be a bill associated with the cleaning (after clarifying that I had already had X rays that year and that I did not want to pay for further X rays, and they said they would absorb the charges for this since I was a new customer). Fast forward 6 months and not only do I receive several statements from the for X rays, but they acknowledge they were not supposed to send me these, and the charges are sent to a collection agency. Dr. Nam failed to spot the compromised seal and prevent and extensive decay that took years to develop. When the retainer was removed and the emergency identified, she refused to see us on her office day, didn't follow-up afterwards and did not respond to the orthodontist's referral. Yes, I actually enjoy and look forward to dentist appointments at Premier Dental and no, they aren't holding a gun to my head right now as I type. I called to reschedule my cleaning with Dr. Bae a couple weeks ahead of time -- the woman on the line informed that she had left the practice, and they would not tell me where she went. When I asked which doctors were available to see at my upcoming appointment, she said they were just going to assign me to another dentist, "whoever happened to be there during your cleaning." Um, no. Whenever one of my doctors has left a practice in the past, I at least heard from the practice as a courtesy, and to ask if I had a preference as to whom I'd like to see going forward. Never before have I been talked down to for asking something as simple as which doctor I could see, and then hung up on when I said I'd have to cancel the appointment. I should have known something was up when I tried to look up their number -- Premier used to have their phone number on their website, but now they have this weird give-us-your-number-and-we'll-call-you system, which always sketches me out (especially since they seem to have scrubbed all their phone info from yelp, etc.) Back to searching yelp to find another good dentist in the area (and since Dr. Bae was responsible for like half the five star reviews below, so should you)! read more
