YALL. I have been "repairing" a camera lens for many months and made a major mistake - the screws…read morerequire a JIS instead of a Phillips head. I stripped the screws, BAD. I tried every method to remove the screws - using a hair dryer, WD-40, the rubber band trick, and so on. I literally drew blood trying to remove these things. Last week I called quite a few local stores asking if they'd be able to help me. Most store's answers were "absolutely not" or "only if you bought the product from us". I went to CPR on a whim because it was close to Starbucks + open during the lunch hour. And boy am I glad I did. They were able to remove the stripped screws in mere minutes and they were super friendly. I'll absolutely use them in the future for any of my tech needs.

Called on the phone to ask what they would charge for a simple thermal paste replacement. Was told…read morethat it would be $100 JUST FOR AN HOUR DIAGNOSTICS. Even though a diagnostics is completely irrelevant to what I asked. You can purchase thermal paste off of Amazon for $5-10, and you usually get enough paste for multiple applications. So either I pay $10 and do it myself multiple times... Or I pay $100+ for them to do it for me. Seem wrong to anyone else? I'm sure they love their older, less tech savy clients. Probably make a fortune off of them.

My fiancée has Alzheimer's and had locked himself out of all his devices and Richie patiently, compassionately, worked diligently to help us find solutions. This has been one of the hardest reviews to write because the superlatives are endless! Richie was able to find work-arounds in a very difficult situation. Richie thought it would help restore muscle memory and it has! There's a lot more wonderful accolades to say but if you're looking for affordable, professional and efficient place for all your Apple needs, MacTech is your only stop! They treat everyone who walks through the door like family, showing respect, warmth and care! Better service, you'll not find. We are so grateful to Richie, Fluffy (in-house emotional support pup) and the entire staff, thank you!! Big hugs to Fluffy, too :)

It was a bit more difficult to effectively communicate with the two other younger staff members, who were polite and eager to help, but at times I felt not understood. I filled out an online form, but in the future, I'll be sure to write my concerns on a sticky note so nothing gets lost if I have to repeat what's going on. It was nice that I wasn't charged for initial unsuccessful repair (since replacing the two charging ports didn't fix the dead laptop). I only paid the diagnostic fee and to get data off the laptop. The store ultimately felt it was a motherboard issue, but I didnt replace it and will just look for a new laptop.
