The only review here that seems to be fake is the positive one. I've called them multiple times over the last 3 weeks because me, my wife and 9 month old baby have to be out of our current place by the end of June. Each time they say "Oh, ok I will get your info and request over to the agents and they will call you back." I have YET to receive a call back. They don't even know their own properties because I called with the unit number of a property off of their own website and the receptionist was like "Uh...I don't know which one that is." So I almost made the biggest mistake of my life by taking one of their apartments. I had found it off Craigslist. when I met the agent at the apartment I was told the rental was 1400 with all utilities included besides cable. After submitting everything atleast 10x in the same day, they finally get back to me with you got it. So Joy had called me and said let's meet up and put down a deposit and go over the lease. I go to the meeting to go over the lease and prepared to pay to find out the meeting was only to put down a deposit. This is where it all goes wrong. The deposit I had to put down was now 1500, When I asked why its 1500$ and not 1400$ they said that's the price of the rental. When I told Joy that the agent had told me 1400$ she got snarky and said well I can't clone myself and go everywhere. Reluctalntly I put the deposit down and made sure I got a receipt to secure the apartment and go over the lease. it was a nightmare to set up the time for the lease meeting. Joy telling me she can't do a certain time and than 2 hours before will text you and say can you do it now, when it was the time she had already said she couldn't do. Also when I told her I wouldn't sign a lease before reviewing it with an attorney, she gave me every problem on why she couldn't send it even after I had already put down the deposit. I sent it to my attorney and an instant red flag showed up as she had tried charging me for 2 security deposits which is illegal as of 2019. So I finally get the day to sign the lease and meet the landlord.I had brought up to her how it was illegal to charge two security deposits and all she could do was after hesitating in a panic was to belittle me. Also justify why she was charging two, all I said was you can't talk around the law and that when the landlord had said don't be disrespectful to woman and called me a piece of garbage. Joy had laughed at that moment. I had to resist my deepest urges of going off the deepend and had demanded my money back it wasn't until threat of suing them with the illegal papers they had tried to have me sign did I get my money back. Morale of the story stay oh so far away from here, the most unprofessional business I had ever met. There is more but as i can't put down it words how bad this experience truly was. Again Stay far, far away, I'd go homeless before giving the company a dollar ever again. read more

Oh brother. Wish I'd read the reviews here before wasting my time. Their site is filled with enticing apartment listings, which you will also find on Craigslist. When you call the woman who answers the phone will sound astonished as if you should already know these 'too good to be true' listings have been long since off the market. I responded to a fairly reasonable sounding ad specifically because it said "all pets welcome." That same woman actually laughed when I explained that I was looking for a multi pet rental for me & my 2 small quiet senior dogs & cat. Makes "all pets welcome" seem pretty misleading. She was rude and extremely unprofessional and I'm sure she is a reflection of this sham or scam. Wonder if they're responsible for all the spam calls I keep getting... DON'T EVEN BOTHER!! read more

So glad to find out it wasn't only me. I've responded to now two ads on CL for a two different houses for rent. First one- they E-mailed me back, I called them immediately and they asked a ton of questions, which I was happy to answer. Whenever I asked a question about the property during this conversation, they dodged it. In the end they said they are just an agency and are unaware about the properties, they just pass our info on to whomever. So thanks for wasting my time... I mean, at least be a REAL scam and ask me for my SS# number and steal my identity. Or ask for my credit card info to "charge for a credit report" and go on a shopping spree... something... What enjoyment do they get from posting fake ads for places that don't exist? read more

I don't write reviews often but this I felt it warranted after my experience. I found one of their listings on Craigslist. We discussed a few properties and made and appointment to see one. I told her my specific requirements (main level, pet friendly with a backyard). On the day of the appointment, one hour before meeting I was pushed back two hours and still waited for the agent. A different agent showed up, told me there's no electricity and to use my phone. The apartment was nice enough and the backyard was nice. Both agents told me the yard was shared. I was told to bring 2 grand cash only...they would not take a check. When I met with Joy the stereo was beyond loud in the office I felt like I was at a club in my 20s and she spent more time telling me how far down in merrick she lived than about the apartment. She told me the landlord didn't want a needy tenant and I would have to fix everything myself. She called me the wrong name and admitted she never even read my file. Seriously? Everything told me that this was beyond unprofessional. After a half hour of talking she told me that there were three dogs in the apartment above me. I asked how we shared the yard. At that point she said, "yard? You don't have use of the yard." Im sorry? Both of your agents said it was shared. No no that's not the case. I felt like they have no idea what is going on. Agents who can't keep an appointment and not knowing about the properties. It is very hard to find pet friendly apartments and because I was guaranteed this one I let two go. Joys response after I told her was... I don't know what to tell you. Not really my problem. When I confronted Sandra at the desk...the first agent I spoke with and mostly spoke with throughout this circus process she made a pouty face and had nothing to say. I left livid. I have owned my own company on Long Island for twenty years and could not believe the way this place operates. Do yourself a favor and go with a real agent. I wish I could give this sad excuse for a realty agency 0 stars. I've spoken to Rosaly for weeks (finally after several unanswered phone calls and unreturned messages and emails), who has done a total of nothing. The specific unit I've been looking at has been on the market for over a month, and the ad reposted several times since my first attempt at contacting an agent. Rosaly refuses to let me speak with anyone but her, refuses to let me leave a message for someone else, refuses to let me leave a voice mail for someone else, refuses to let me speak with an agent, and apparently isn't even forwarding my messages to an agent because I have never once spoken to anyone but her. I don't know if the agency as a whole is the problem or if Rosaly is the problem. But after 5 attempts talking to her, an unanswered email and 3 voice messages and one time getting hung up on when I asked to speak to someone else, I think I'm done with this agency. They're a scam and should probably be reported. Don't ever go here or inquire about an apartment through them. You're wasting your time read more

I had the great misfortune of dealing with this Realtor and HER staff. They are so desperate and underhanded for commission money they would screw their own family. I am now in a lease that is so illegal and this realty company assured me it was a 'standard lease' no big deal to just sign it....biggest mistake of my life. This woman and her agency knew I did not KNOW ANYTHING about a lease. I thought an agent was there to protect HER/HIS Clients...not true at all. This Manager and her agents work for the Landlord and will get you to sign as quickly as they can as soon as they find out your life history. Don't fall for it. Do not give them money! Go to another agent listing the property or pass it by....she is awful! She told me to call her if I had questions, funny at 7 minutes to 5pm .....they are not picking up the phone. They did not give me the lease until 4:53 PM the night prior to me having to sign the lease. After speaking with other people who used their services...this is common practice with them. When I asked this woman some questions about the lease the next morning prior to signing this lease..I was so hesitant to sign the lease and called them to ask what certain wording and 'things meant", This character...literally....AND I AM NOT KIDDING...began Screaming at me about how hard she worked on this deal. She flipped. They are awful, I could go on but they are not worth it...I may be a fool but they sold their sole for a few thousand dollar commission and God don't like ugly. Believe me these people will rot and burn in hell for the way they deceive people! Good luck - They are the most slippery, underhanded, lying, Con Artists I've ever met. I wish I read reviews before I called and now I am trying to get my deposit back. They know how to take money from people and not help them in anyway. The say they will call back and they don't. I am not one to Yelp my reviews but I have to rave about Joy Kannett from PBT Realty. I had my house on the market and it didn't sell so someone recommended her to me. When I called her she came over right away with a appraisal of my property that she did. She knew exactly what my home was worth and assured me she would have no problem selling it. I really felt very comfortable with her from the moment we spoke on the phone. She took care of everything from showing my home and I didn't have to ever be there, open houses etc. She told me what I needed to do to make my home stand out, and by listening to her it made my home feel so much warmer and desirable to look at to buyers. She recommended someone to fix what needed and it didn't cost me a lot to do. When the engineer came and I had to fix a plumbing issue she got me a plumber that was licensed and did a great job. When she went away her office was great and yet she called and checked in on me. I cant say enough about her and PBT Realty. I definitely give her and her Real Estate 5 Stars. If you need to sell your home Call Joy she will do everything for you. read more
