They struggled through their first few tournaments, but it was really rewarding to see how much they improved, gained confidence, and started to gel as a team as the season went on. Because this is a newer club, I think you can really make it what you want it to be. There is a lot of opportunity to grow and be part of building something from the ground up. The fees were also significantly lower than those of many other clubs in the area, which was a big plus in the world of expensive club sports. If you're looking for a more affordable club experience and want to be part of a growing program, I would definitely consider giving them a try. We were impressed by how much the girls playing developed over the season!

Coaches rotated constantly, players were shuffled around, and no one ever seemed to know what was happening from week to week. They claim to prepare kids for competitive play, but it was the exact opposite. Instead of developing athletes, they left them confused, unsupported, and unmotivated -- no feedback, no progress, and no real coaching. The final straw was being offered a team spot, only for them to later decide my daughter "wasn't ready for the competitive environment." That's not a reflection on her -- it's a direct result of their disorganization and lack of coaching consistency. My daughter went on to make another competitive team with no issue whatsoever. Stream Valley desperately needs to fix its communication, structure, and accountability before calling itself "competitive."

Review #1,005 Posted on 2.26.26…read more We've come here a bunch of times now for games with my daughters travel ball clubs over the years. Most recently we were here this past weekend on Saturday the 21st for state cup quarterfinals & semifinals. The fields here are super nice. There's basically 4 turf fields. 2 located at the upper level, 2 located at the lower level. All fields have multiple areas around it to warm up, etc. One thing that's for sure a minus though, is balls fly from the top level to the bottom and if you're in a wrong area you can get drilled, hard too. For sure a liability for them in my opinion. Not sure why they named this Mustang Soccer League instead of naming it Mustang Soccer fields, they're getting crushed by upset parents in the reviews. But for the facilities and the fields, this place is nice.

Do it yourself, figure it out, why would we? You only paid us to do it. We play on a public field anyone can use. Last year they didn't feel like providing refs, this year we have no coach for 2 weeks and the mustangs can't be bothered to offer a replacement. On top of that, they don't even follow their own guidelines. It's supposed to be 1 game a week, typically saturdays, MAYBE an occasional sunday. Instead, 80% of the games are sat and sun back to back and then the games randomly stop 3 weeks before the season. I did not sign up to torch my entire weekend for multiple weeks in a row. They told me too bad so sad, its what schedule their "algorithm" spat out. So no one makes the schedules either. Does anyone work here? Where did my money go? Find 9 random families at your local park and exchange phone numbers. There, you have the same thing the mustangs provided except you saved $600. We have done many sports and this is the only org I've worked with that simply takes your money and doesn't do their job. This isn't normal.

This review is specifically for the summer program and the younger age groups. I can't speak to the…read moreolder age divisions, as my kids participated in the younger group and this was their first basketball program. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience for my young kids. There were too many participants relative to the number of coaches, and the level of engagement and instruction varied significantly. At times, drills and scrimmages appeared to run with limited coaching oversight. For a program with paid coaches (rather than volunteer parents), I would have expected coaches to consistently observe players during drills and games, offer encouragement, and help correct mistakes early -- especially for beginners who are just learning the fundamentals. For example, some kids clearly did not understand whether they were on offense or defense, or were unsure where to stand or what to do during games. In many cases, simple direction or guidance from a coach early in the program could have helped, but some players appeared to remain confused throughout the program. During inbounds situations, it was common to see multiple players unsure of where to go or what their role was, which again seemed like something that could have been improved with more active coaching, especially given that multiple games were played weekly. Attention from coaches often seemed focused on a small handful of players -- typically the more ball-dominant or behaviorally disruptive players -- while quieter or less assertive kids received little feedback or instruction and sometimes appeared lost on the court. Drill repetitions were also uneven. For example, in layup or shooting lines, some kids received multiple turns and feedback while others waited for long periods and received only one attempt before the group moved on. Instruction and practice time also did not always seem efficient, as a significant amount of time was spent managing behavior and organizing lines rather than actively coaching the drill itself. A higher coach-to-player ratio may have helped in this area. During games and scrimmages, play often consisted of a few physically dominant players receiving most of the playing time and handling the ball on the majority of possessions, going coast-to-coast and taking repeated shots. While this is common at younger ages, there did not appear to be much emphasis on teaching team concepts such as passing, spacing, or involving all players. As a result, many players had limited opportunities to handle the ball or receive feedback on whether they were moving correctly or contributing positively during game situations. Playing time also appeared inconsistent, with newer or quieter players sitting longer while more ball-dominant players remained in the game. For a non-competitive developmental program, equal playing time would seem important since families are participating primarily for learning and development. It was also frustrating to see that a disproportionate amount of coaching attention and game time appeared to go toward managing one or two disruptive players, which reduced opportunities for others to receive instruction and game experience despite all families paying for the same developmental program. In later programs my kids participated in at a similar age level, coaches actively encouraged ball movement and participation from everyone, which made a noticeable difference in both development and enjoyment. Seeing that difference is what ultimately motivated me to write this review half a year later. Overall, I cannot recommend this program, especially given that it is advertised as focusing on mastering fundamentals for young athletes. Based on our experience, the way the program was run did not reflect that goal, and we have since seen that other programs at a similar age level can provide a much stronger developmental environment. If improvements were made, I would suggest increasing the coach-to-player ratio, ensuring coaches are fully engaged during drills and games, and implementing systems -- such as equal playing time at younger ages -- that help distribute reps more evenly so that all players have an opportunity to learn and develop.

Five years later, I would say his emphasis on discipline, hard work, personal accountability, responsibility, and sportsmanship have increased my son's love of the game and his desire to improve as a player. With a carefully selected number of teams, EJ Sports insures players receive high-quality, age-appropriate coaching. The coaches give the players the skills and knowledge to push themselves to the best of their abilities. The coaching staff has frequently challenged my son to improve. The expectation is always strive for excellence. However, EJ Sports truly understands the physical and mental abilities of youth players at all ages, so the expectations are challenging without being unreasonable. The coaches have always expected the hard work and dedication from the players, and have been equally loyal and dedicated to the players development. Coaches have honest conversations with the players about future expectations and their baseball future at the end of the season. My son's baseball experience has included lessons on baseball fitness, baseball etiquette, game situation scenarios, position-specific skill development, mental preparation, and college recruitment. The college recruitment seminars have been exceptionally valuable to understanding baseball at the collegiate level and the recruitment process.

Anyone leaving those kinds of comments must've truly woken up on the wrong side of the bed to be that cruel and unfair. Let me explain why East Bay Sports deserves a five-star review. I've been bringing my son here since he could walk he started in the Little Kickers program and now, at age nine, plays in the soccer team division. We absolutely love indoor soccer, and this facility makes it such a great experience for families. The kids always have a blast, the field is consistently clean and safe, and the entire place has such a welcoming atmosphere. The owner, Chris, deserves special recognition. He's incredibly calm, patient, and professional even when parents get heated during games, coming up to him in his office raising their voices, he never raises his voice or loses his composure. You can tell he genuinely cares about the families and players who come here. This is a family-run establishment and the only indoor soccer facility in the area, which makes it such a valuable part of our community. Beyond soccer, they also offer batting cages (which are a ton of fun!) and host birthday parties that kids love. Whether your child is a toddler just learning to kick a ball or an older kid who's ready for league play, there's a perfect spot for everyone. You don't need to be a pro you just need to want to play, learn, and have fun. With so many classes and programs to choose from, I highly recommend East Bay Sports for any family looking for a positive, active, and inclusive environment.
