Usually I wouldn't write a review without actually stepping foot inside an establishment but I must make an exception in this case.Was recommended to this place as they are apparently the only black barbers in Norman,the 1st time I brought my Son they told him they were done cutting hair for the day...it was 3 pm??? and it may be best to make an appointment.I then cut his hair myself as I always have.Few weeks later I called on Friday to make an appointment for sat and was told I didn't need one,they open at 6 am and you can just walk in... Honestly this place is horrible, and it's not because of the quality of the haircut. This place is probably the only black owned barber shop in Norman, and they fully take advantage of that. This place stays crowded, not because they are so good, but all the do is talk and procrastinate. I understand that this is how a black barbershop usually is, but when a guy is in the chair for 45 mins and you have waiting patrons waiting literally hours to get a cut, all because you want to talk about some sports game or some female. That's just not worth it. I've seen more people leave than get their haircut. But they don't care, because they know you have to come back since they're the only one in town. read more

When all of the barbers are related, you know they have strong roots. But they take more pride in the customers satisfaction and entertainment. I've been going here for a year now and I don't have a barber I prefer over the other (they are all that good). I used to go to Paynless Images because I was referred there by a friend of mine who told me they're the best barbershop around. Man, if that couldn't have been any further from the truth. I used to walk in month after month hoping for a good haircut and every single time they messed up my hairline. Sad thing about it is I wouldn't even know they messed it up until I got home and washed off that Bigen spray they put on me WITHOUT ASKING! They knew they were messing up my hairline every time I walked in there and they tried to cover it up by putting color spray on the part they messed up on & nobody said anything about it! It wasn't until I switched barbershops that I realized just how careless the barbers of Payneless Images are. Now I go to a place called Fade N Ups and they cut EVERY celebrity that steps foot in Oklahoma because they always get it right! Mannn. Getting a haircut here takes at least an hour of waiting. When you finally make it to the barbers chair it's going to take another hour just to get the haircut, all because they wanna talk about sports, music, girls or whatever. Yes they can cut hair but the problem here is that they KNOW that your waiting and don't care because they assume you'll be back since they are the only black barbershop in the area. Payneless images is the best barbershop hands down I don't no what other people are talking about or at least this one particular person they may take longer to get your haircut but when you get out that chair and look in the mirror you start to think it was worth it. And when you go around people say you go to payneless images don't you, and that feels pretty good. And it may be crowd that's why they have appointments. read more
