My son attended their STEP day program for 11 years after graduating high school. We have…read moreexperienced numerous "job coaches" over the years, whose professionalism and skill level ranged from excellent to absolutely terrible. IABA has an extremely high turnover rate with their employees. My son had a 1:1 for most of his time there as he required more direct supervision. Quite often, I would receive a text from the supervisor saying that the aide is out that day and there's no replacement. Fortunately, I'm in a position where I'm able to stay home with him, otherwise, I'd have a real problem if I needed to go to work. Sometimes the aide wouldn't show up or notify management and even the supervisor wouldn't know what's going on. One time an aide dropped my son off at our doorstep when no one was at home and left him there like a Fed Ex package, for over an hour. We live 1/2 block away from an extremely busy street. He's non-verbally autistic, epileptic and functions at the level of a small child. Thank God he stayed right there until I arrived. We've also had a few excellent people working with him who acted responsibly and were caring, but they were in the minority. The company was sold recently by the founders, Gary Lavigna and Thomas Willis in 2022 to an autism investor who owns a company called, Patterns Behavioral Services. Things went downhill almost immediately after that. They implemented policies that were more restrictive such as aides only being allowed to drive clients within a 3 mile radius. Otherwise, they're forced to take a bus. Given how often buses run in LA, they spend all their limited time commuting. They're tethered to such a small area that there is absolutely no stimulation or variety in their day. They also disallow the parents/caregivers to have the phone number of the aide who's caring for their child. That is extremely worrisome, especially when your child has medical issues. One time, my son had a seizure and I was notified quite awhile afterwards by the supervisor. An ambulance was ready to take him to the hospital when I got there. There's no accountability when these aides are out with your child. They were supposedly taking my son to the gym every morning, then I checked online to verify the number of check-ins. Guess what? There were maybe 3-4 check-ins every month. What were they doing instead? Who knows? One time I was walking our dog, walked around the corner from our house and found my son and his job coach parked on the street, waiting till it was time to drop him off! The management is highly disorganized and the job coaches would complain about their supervisor constantly to me. It's also a very demanding job and they're paid less than a fast food worker, so there's a constant revolving door of people working with your kid. Last March, the supervisor stopped communicating with me and left us without services. I reported unprofessional behavior by his aide that my son told me about. He's able to type and communicate via a voice output device. She would not return my calls and just cut us off, period. To be treated like that after 11 years is outrageous behavior, not to mention unprofessional. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. I would give them minus 5 stars if I could!

About a year ago, he properly removed all of my mercury fillings, yet I had another huge problem to tackle...grinding my teeth at night! Dr. B told me about this amazing night guard they offered and at first, I declined, as I had one before and didn't like or use it. Besides, not only did I think it was costly, but I figured since I wear an apnea appliance at night, I wouldn't be a good candidate--not true! Dr. B said if I wore it just 3 hours during the day, it would help with all of the issues I was experiencing; jaw and neck pain, jaw popping/clicking, as well as the headaches. Well, let me just say, as time went on, the grinding and headaches got worse! I found out my future was heading towards extensive dental work from all the issues I was experiencing. When I added up the cost, for possible cracked, worn down teeth from all the grinding, versus the cost of the appliance, it was minimal in comparison! I'm so grateful I got my mouth guard, it has been a blessing and a game changer in my life! Just after the first week, the headaches and clinching was minimal, and getting better every day! My clinching improved at night and my jaw popping is minimal! I am so satisfied with it! The material is so gentle on my gums, no irritation, and my bottom teeth do not slide around as it fits very comfortably. Because I can just about guarantee that anyone expecting a 4.5 star physician experience is going to be disappointed here. Dr. Tan has a small strip mall office with no staff. He collects blood by himself. He greets you at the door and charges your credit card. He texts you back personally on your cell phone. All of that is wonderful and I can fully appreciate the benefits of having an accessible physician. For that I grant him a few stars. Where this practice falls short is in organization and quality. The office is cluttered and dirty (well, probably because he has no staff to maintain it, but still). If you search his medical license with the state of California you will see that it was suspended at one point. Man did his time and got it back. Fine. I'm all for second chances. During our appointment, there was a solar eclipse. Dr. Tan went outside to observe the eclipse, looked directly at the sun with no protective eyewear, and recoiled, exclaiming "ahh, it burns! Don't do that!" This, I believe, is reflective of the office. Eager and charming, but quixotic and maybe hapless. I did not get the sense that I was being treated by a proficient professional up-to-date on the latest research and practices. That's something that's important to me.
