I can't understand how in the 21st century they can't stop this nonsense. Every other time it's happened they have credited my account until the investigation is over. HSBC BANK..Does that name ring a bell, well it should !!! you may be getting robbed…read more Do you have more than one credit balance with HSBC BANK, do you know they refuse to allow you to pay "EXTRA " payments in order lower the debt you owe to them ? The scam works like this: You have two credit balances with HSBC BANK. You make your monthly required payment to satisfy BOTH credit balances for that period..plus any more you wish to pay right ? Then they take your payment, divide it up to pay the higher balance principle and interest right ? everything sounds good so far...Here is where it gets crooked: They take a portion of your payment, and pay the interest, on the lower balance, then take a tiny fraction of your payment to pay the principle...so tiny in fact, that the principle actually hardly ever gets reduced. But here's where it really gets crooked !!!! They refuse to allow you to make any "EXTRA " payments to that lower balance alone, even after you have already made ALL the required payments to ALL balances you owe on for that period..That payment manipulation creates the long term interest debt obligation to you...the abused customer.. HSBC has said they do not refuse any payments, but when I say I want to pay off that lower balance right now....They say we cannot accept the payment and allocate it to the lower balance.....DUH...did they just refuse to accept a payment ? you bet....HSBC has twisted the fair credit and banking law to lock you into debt with them...Write your State Representatives, and complain like hell, get in touch with Federal Trade Commission, Talk to the Media,....Fight back...Don't let HSBC rob you again and again...Don't let anyone confuse you with Bank Jargon, regarding credit agreements, There will be people who will try to insult you, lie to you, and otherwise abuse you into thinking you are out of line....The simple fact is HSBC is robbing you, no two ways about it....

Tellers are at "open" desks instead of the old style, where you can put down loads of cash and no one would know better. Now you're just letting everybody in line know your business, I let the teller know it felt too exposed. Asked who the manager was and politely let him know my thoughts. He didn't even acknowledge the concern/feedback, his answer was "this is just the way we do business now". Likely not going to have my business or my kids any longer with that attitude.
