Babes first game. We live in TX, but we love our thunder. We know they went into double ot the day before and knew they were tired for a back to back game like that., but we couldn't wait to see them anyway. Russ is a beast and so are his teammates. I live watching where he came from and how he is now. Ok, so its babes first game. We take a pic at anything that says okc thunder or just okc. Locker room pics, everything. We have great seats for the first game next to some of my favorites. Babe had his Thunder shirt because that's how you roll to your first game. We were greeted by one if my favorite photographers and walked to our seats. I tried some new vanilla trout beer, which was pretty good. I think it's only on level 1 . Never saw it on 2 or 3. The we lost by 3 , but it was a close great game and we loved it. I was so happy baby got the real experience. Also, he got the philly fries. I got the strips. Fries were horrible but eh. Cool experience. One of the first times I've actually gone to an NBA basketball game. It's definitely a wild experience especially if your sitting with hardcore fans and the energy that comes out. I thought it was a pretty small arena compared to some of the other ones I've been too. But it was a great time overall. read more

Arena itself is wonderful, it's huge and spacious and the lights are incredible. The staff is much less than friendly. I was talked down to by multiple security officers and led around the entire building on a wild goose chase looking for a sensory accommodation for my disability. I was told these would be found at VIP services on the first floor, but after a half hour of walking and asking at each place I was told I would find the sensory accommodations, I would be directed to a different place that also did not have them. I was finally able to find it, in a place that absolutely nobody on the security staff had been able to accurately direct me to. The drinks are also ridiculously priced and rules regarding cups vs bottles don't seem to be enforced. I purchased a water and was told I could not get a lid or keep it in the bottle, and 20 feet away from me I watched another patron purchase a water bottle and got to keep the lid. I asked the same cashier if I could get a lid for my cup, even if it didn't fit properly, and she did give me the lid, but she told me that if I bought a water she would have to take the bottlecap, which she did not do to the last patron. The rules do not seem to be consistent or enforced, and security staff was unhelpful, rude, and almost incompetent. I loved the show I attended, the venue itself is wonderful but the prices and staff were ridiculous. read more

I got tickets for the March 10th OKC Thunder vs Boston Celtics 5 months ago. Although I'm not from OKC, I love Thunder. I've been to other cities to watch OKC games it was just not the same. I've been wanting to join other OKC fans at their home court because they seem so enthusiastic about their Thunder. I stayed at a hotel next to the arena so as soon as I got to my hotel, I decided to take pictures and admire the arena. A security guy came out and was nice enough to walk with me to the SW entrance. He was very hospitable. Although it was freezing and raining on game day, I was not disappointed. Fans showed full support and the energy was great. The seats my friend and I got were 6 six rows from the front. I completely enjoyed myself. It honestly is the best home court arena ever! The bathrooms were clean, the lines at the gift shops were quite long, there are many restaurants and concessions. I'll more than likely be back for another Thunder game. read more

its sad that we spend extra for the meet and greet for the Harlem Globetrotters got there at 5:38 but missed it bc NONE of the staff knew where I was supposed to go. I had a Magic Pass and they made me stay in line until the actual game started and my kid missed the meet and greet. I had to wait for the game to end fight through crowds just to get my son a signature when we paid to not have to do that! You all a have a lawsuit on your hands before long because people not going to keep losing money bc you all so unorganized and unprofessional here in Oklahoma! read more

Such a beautiful arena! Oklahoma's pride! I've visited several times for the Thunder game and has always had a great experience. It's giant inside and so beautiful and clean. It's a building of true excitement. Excitement because coming here means you're gearing up for something exciting soon whether an NBA game, a concert, an event, you name it! Parking spaces are all around the arena making it the ideal spot of many events! I recently moved to Oklahoma and I have never been much into basketball (aside the few games I played with friends as a kid lol) but the Thunder won my heart instantly. Then the Playoffs came around and I really got into it, so when I saw a few single game tickets were available for purchase I said "what the heck!" and went on to ticketmaster and found like the only pair left (it was just meant to be) for the home game and surprised my boyfriend with playoff tickets to see the Thunder. I think brownie points were earned that day. He had seen them before but never once been to a playoff game (bucket list got a checked off event that day) and they were "nosebleeds" of course, I mean this is the playoffs! This is the Thunder! And this was a really important game for us. Loud City here we come! We got ready for the game day which was soon approaching; I did my nails and makeup with traditional Thunder colors and he got a new shirt and short set just for the game. We were thrilled to go see them live. This is just after KD had been awarded the MVP title. We knew it would be awesome and were really excited to go see this game! Game day - yes I am trailing my bf who is ready to go as I'm doing my nails lol. Yes we rushed to get there, but made it on time, early even, but didn't get to sign the card in Thunder Alley (which btw was packed!). Entering the area was a breeze. We got right in, not much of a wait, got our play books and found our seats. Yes they were up there (section 327) but I was amazed at how great they were. I mean you really could see everything. I've been to events in the past and seating was decent but this was really great for the price for playoff seats. The game was absolutely intense from the very second. I have never experienced the feeling of unity so much so as I did that night. It was epic. The Thunder played well and the game seem to go by really fast but was a real nail biter. I was on the edge of my seat or cheering and screaming 98% of the game. No lies. It was the best sporting event I have ever experienced in my life. I guess I would only say that next time I will try for better seats cause there was a really large woman in the seat next to us who took up her seat and half of ours (eesh). And I'm not a little thing, but after switching seats with my bf who is a tall husky guy I felt like the stereotypical small person stuck I between two large people on a plane lol. I sat close to the edge of my seat cause she was just really in my way (like smacked me in the head once and the arm 3x until she finally sat on the back of her seat which offered me some comfort) and I got tired of my feet going numb from being smashed into my seat. The seats are made for the average size fan and she was not. Still this wasn't really a huge concern for me at that type of event as I was on my feet a lot of the time anyhow. Now if it were like idk some music show then I don't know if it would have been doable. Food is costly and water will set you back $4 a bottle. I got some gear after the game and two shirts ran me $75. Worth it for me but maybe not for everyone. This was an epic event and I was so thrilled to be apart of it. If any seats are open for the next home game I will surely get them. I love the Thunder and support them in every way. They are a terrific team, even on their worst day, they are awesome and get my full support. Thunder Up!!! read more

Such a fun night. We bought tickets at the door at the last minute (even with an accident on 35 and making it to the game after it had started). Nosebleed seats weren't bad just steep (and only $16) and the energy of the crowd was amazing. Not too many different food options- bbq, nachos, chicken fingers. I really wanted pizza hut (had personal pan options for about $10, 4 slices, nice n' hot), but had to wait in line with my friends for their food and return later once the pizza delivery showed up. Thunder had no trouble getting past the Suns (and I've even seen the Suns at their home arena), and the halftime entertainment was a well-known performer from America's Got Talent. (Plus, the Thunder had good team colors. We all know that that's important). Will definitely be back if I am in town read more

So I attend several different events at the Chesapeake arena on a regular basis. Its always a lot of fun. I always enjoy the event and have amazing time. Usually entering the arena goes pretty fast they normally get us through the door quickly. I have been for Thunder basketball, OU basketball, PBR, TSO, and all different types of concerts. I have not had a bad seat yet. The food is usually pretty and the staff are always amazing and friendly. It is one Of the best venue around for sporting events and concerts. But the only disappointing thing for me is they do not have Dr. Pepper as one of their drinks on the fountain machines. read more

Why 4 stars? Because it's exactly what I hoped it would be. --- --- --- I have wanted to check out a Thunder game for quite some time. This dates back a few years now, once they rose to prominence. On TV, the playoff crowds seemed absolutely incredible. When I started dating a girl whose parents live in Oklahoma, I knew she was a keeper ;) I actually made her wait until the Thunder schedule came out before figuring out what we were going to do for the holidays. The only real negative I can point out is that they definitely are in need of a video board upgrade. In today's NBA, those "humongotron's" are popping up every year, and I hope the Thunder are one of the next in line. Other than that - I loved it! We went here for a Thunder game and had a great experience. The check-in process went pretty fast and they had a wide variety of food places inside. The seats were pretty clean as well. They get business at this place regardless because of who they bring in. Parking is a little rough and you will have to pay to park if you dont want to walk a distance. Monster Truck Okc! So much fun for the entire family. I took my 9yo there for the first time and as usual the Chesapeake staff did NOT disappoint. They were very polite and accommodating. The areas were very clean and well staffed so anything we went to purchase the line waits were very reasonable. Even the restrooms were well maintained. The show itself was very up close, exciting, and loud! I highly recommend the use of ear protection for all those precious kid ears. A friendly reminder to all you bikers out there that they will not let you enter the building with you chain on your wallet or in your pocket. The metal detectors will turn you back to your sleds! The arena is close to Bricktown which is awesome, it is very clean and all the employees were friendly. We were just visiting and it was our first Thunder game so they gave us pins for it being our first time. The halftime show: Had some weird act from Russia doing crazy things with a metal square, the two gymnasts must of mastered geometry. The way they were spinning the square fam....they were shape maestros doing geometric formulas in their head....crazy. Still would have preferred those dog halftime shows where they jump through hula hoops and catch frisbees. Watched the sorry Thunder almost lose to a depleted Spurs team...aka the local JV Varsity team and Danny Green...they also took Pau Gasol out from the retirement home and gave him a life alert button. At one point I saw Pau Gasol sipping prune juice on the sideline checking his bingo card. We brought our one year old nephew along and he loved it. He was dancing and clapping along with everyone else. Also the arena employees were very kind to him. Beer price was overpriced as expected, but for a sporting event it was pretty reasonable ($8). Seats are pretty tight and a pain to get in and out but it seems like there isn't a bad seat in the building. Getting out of the building and leaving the game wasn't that much of a hassle either which was great. Overall it was a great experience and if I am in town again I would love to come back. read more

From Beyonce to John Mayer to Thunder NBA games, I can say this arena has logistics down to ensure everyone has a great time! For Beyonce, I was on the floor next to the stage. I never once felt unsafe as crowd control/ security was present but not overwhelming so. I've sat literally in the very back row (all 300 level is considered 'loud city') for a Thunder game and had the best time. There is not a bad seat in this house. The arena itself is always spotless and easy to navigate. Food? They've got all kinds although I usually always try to dine at some of my OKC favorites like The Wedge Deep Deuce or Iguana Grill before. Bevvie stations ore of plenty and make it easy to grab a drink in less than a 5 minute line so you don't have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out.) Chesapeake hosts a wide variety of special events and is fortress of great memories! Cheers to many more! read more

The club deck (forgot what it's called) is nicer, has better selections and "fancier" items, but nothing worth saying "wow". Service is great, staff is super friendly so that is unusual compared to other stadiums. Stadium is well kept and clean. The decor is pretty boring for a stadium that was built in 2002. I don't think they tried to be original and just copied a design from the 1980's. The BOK Center in Tulsa was built only 3 years after the Chesapeake Arena and the BOK Center looks LIGHTYEARS ahead of Chesapeake! No excuses, Chesapeake Energy Arena! read more

Thunder Up!!!! This arena was very nice although I'm partial to AAC - Dallas. Although we arrived late for the Thunder v. Celtics game, I got a chance to look around a bit. They offered several fooderies (my new made up word, lol). I'm a huge fan of popcorn and have to have it as I'm watching the game and I must say I was highly disappointed in it as it tasted stale and extra salty. The bathrooms were nice and although lines were long, it was quick because they had ample stalls. We didn't win so it sucked that I flew in solely for the game. I had fun though and the Thunder fans are cool, but the Mavs fans bring the fiyah!!!!! read more

I've visited the 'Peake for concerts and sporting events, and it really is an outstanding venue. The Club Level has great amenities for concert-goers and sports fans, alike. Parking is one of the major issues here, so it is good to plan ahead, if you can. OKC has a streetcar system that allows you to park in Midtown and take a streetcar to the venue, and I encourage travelers to give it a shot. We went to a concert here and we're very pleased with the way the venue is set up. There are several bathrooms so you do not have to walk far regardless the section you're in. There were several workers constantly cleaning the floors. The only downside is only the aisle seats have cup holders and the rows on the 3rd level are not deep enough. Great place to catch a Thunder game and a good place to catch a concert. The Thunder have a home court and fans like no other! For concerts it all depends on where you are sitting. The higher up the worse the acuastics are. As well the overall areana concourse leaves a lot to be desired of you have been to other NBA, NFL or MLB cities. As well the current ticket taking procedures are archaic. Only major league areana I have been to that doesn't have a digital ticket taking line or the ability to scan your phone. This arena makes for a feel for the fan like they are closer to the game. Don't know what makes it different than other arenas, maybe it is the crowd, maybe it is the seating and how close it is (more like a college feeling game) but it packs the energy into the arena. I have been to numerous games at this arena and always enjoyed the location. The interaction during the games is very personal, the staff of the facility are all very friendly from the ticket counter to the custodian. The Peake is always well maintained, clean, and comfortable. When going to Thunder games, security is quick with relatively short lines and the ticket-takers are friendly. There are ample restrooms which are well attended; very rarely have I had to wait in a line for the restroom. The seats, even in loud city, are comfortable and don't feel too cramped. Generally speaking the support staff are helpful with finding seats and helping when any issues that arise with guests. Obviously the food inside the arena will be at a high markup, but I personally think you can find some reasonable dining options. The have several quick dining options on the lower level, such as Taco Mayo, a BBQ place, and traditional nachos, hot dogs, etc. They also have a couple of sit down restaurants. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't eat at the game if I could help it, but in a pinch the options aren't too bad. Alcohol purchases will cost you a pretty penny though. Overall, I think OKC is fortunate to have such a nice arena to house our NBA team. read more

I have attended many events at Paycom. However, we attended the Koe Wetzel concert last night and the security was really lacking. Too much alcohol was served where people were stumbling or falling down drunk and no one did anything about it. They just kept coming back with more alcohol. The couple in front of us fought continuously and again no one did anything. Finally, other attendees had to step in. People were smoking marijuana everywhere. Oklahoma is not a recreational state. Also, seems they have a lot of senior citizens that are acting as security. It is fine for Andrea Boccelli but not Koe. We eventually left because we did not feel safe, as did others. I am from another city and I will not return to Paycom. read more

Arena is conveniently located in the bricktown area surrounded by bars, restaurants, and hotels. The arena is very clean with comfortable seats. There are concession stands all throughout the area so drinks are snacks are abundant. Price for items are steep but expected. Saw a Thunder game and they won so thats always good. read more

First Thunder game tonight! Was pretty good. Can't really say anything bad, had good seats, and fans were pretty good even though it wasn't a really high profile game. I've been here a few times before for concerts and they were all good experiences as well. Food vendors at the game was also great, and had a wide variety of food to choose from! I even noticed a couple restaurants, and kids zone as well. Might be checking out the PBR event this weekend! read more

Had tons of fun at the Thunder game. Pre game festivities outside were family friendly and no pressure. Only complaint is the streetcar that literally runs through the area with no protection for children, etc. Bad design. Arena is on the older side but crowd makes up for it. The atmosphere was lovely...seats were easy to find, there were many restrooms with many stalls, so waiting to potty wasn't a dreadful issue at all. There are many vendors and concessions selling the typical sporting event goodies and memorabilia. Prices were lower than I imagined, but I'm from the west coast where they'll try to charge you for sunshine if they can. The arena is clean, beautiful, and well-maintained. Pretty good sized stadium, nothing too big out of the norm. Around the place there will be bars and such for those who prefer to show early or stay late for a few drinks. Plenty of stands and food booths around with a lot of variety. Right now there is a lot of construction around but that's not a big deal, outside parking is a bit of a pain but there is plenty to go around. There are a lot of events that happen here so i might update my review as i go, overall good place and a lot of events/shows happen here. read more

Great venue conveniently located in downtown Oklahoma City. I came here to attend a concert and brought my two tween daughters with me. I have to commend Sarah, the guest relations event security manager, in addition to the entire security team of the Chesapeake Energy Arena. I had floor seats purchased for the concert and was concerned my daughters would not be able to see if people in front of them stood up. As a rule follower, I did not want my girls to stand on a chair. I emailed the arena, addressing my concerns, and asked if it was possible for me to bring foldable stools to be used only at our seats by my daughters for the duration of the concert, as an accomodation. When standing on the stools, the height they stood at was approximately 5'4" and 5'6" so nothing outrageously tall for the people behind them. The foldable stools were able to easily fit in a bag which fit inside the bag limit parameters. I also told the security team I was willing to sign a waiver releasing the arena from any responsibility if my girls fell/got hurt, and I told them the time we would be arriving. Sarah from the security team, was kind to email me the week of the event, meet me before the show, and introduce me to other members of the security team who were made aware of our arrival. When I went through the x-ray/security check, I did not have to explain anything as the security team took one look at me and told me they knew to expect me. When we got to our seats, security came around a few times to make sure we were OK. My daughters and I enjoyed the concert. It was certainly nice to feel acknowledged by the arena, knowing full and well they could have had every right to say no. We will not hesitate to recommend people attend concerts at this venue. I went to my first Thunder game a week or so ago, and I was absolutely flabbergasted at this place. I don't do crowds. I don't do people. I'm an introvert. So when my friend asked me to go to the game with her, my dread for what I was about to endure seemed endless. But holy freaking crap was I wrong. Getting into the Courtyard Marriott parking garage was easy and quick, the walk to the doors was quick, getting through security was quick. The staff was nice, and they kept the people flowing through pretty seamlessly. The restrooms were clean and were passthroughs, which led to the notorious women's restroom line crisis being almost non existent. (Take notes, airports!) On the third floor they have full bars on either side of the arena, and several places to get beer much more frequently in between. I'm not a beer person, and our seats (324) were conveniently located right next to a full bar. Score. Pun intended. The only odd thing I experienced was when I asked the bartender for a Cosmo...and she asked me what was in it. A Cosmo is one of the most ordered mixed drinks in bars. How do you not know what a Cosmo is?!?? That being said, I asked her what kind of fruity drink she could make me, to which she responded a S*x on the Beach. It. Was. Amazing. Amazing as in I'm going to start ordering that instead of Cosmo's when I go to bars. Even better plus about my amazingly delicious drink? I could take it back to my seat. Heck yes! Overall, I was really impressed with how not-stressful the game and arena environment was. I might actually consider going to another Thunder game because of it - which is a huge feat for me and my introvert self. read more
