We began closing our Paychex account back on 8/7/24. The reason for this was due to a gradual but…read moresteady decline in responsiveness and service. It came to a point where Paychex had become an obstacle rather than a service that, at one time, we could rely on. The level of service had sunk to a level that became unbearable. When we finally decided to switch our account to another company, Paychex became actively hostile instead of just inept. Our employees 401k accounts are being held hostage. We have spent weeks on the phone with hours upon hours on hold attempting to recover access to these accounts, We have spoken to and have been transferred to more than 10 people. We repeat the issue over again. Each time, we're on the phone for at least an hour. Our advice to anyone considering using Paychex is to reconsider. You'll wind up with nothing but aggravation.

If I could rate below 1 star, I absolutely would. This has been the most unprofessional and…read morefrustrating experience I've ever had with a company. Navy Federal should reconsider recommending Paychex to businesses of any size. Unexpected Charges: They charge your account significantly more than what was initially quoted for the service. Inconsistent Customer Support: I've spoken with five different representatives who were supposedly in charge of my business account. The person who initially set up the account was always available during the "onboarding" process, but after that, I was passed off to others and left without clear answers. Not only did I receive conflicting information, but crucial details were either miscommunicated or completely omitted from the start. At this point, I'm seriously questioning the legitimacy of Paychex as a service. I remember companies using Paychex back when I was an employee, and I can only imagine the issues they might have faced if their experience was anything like mine. If you're considering a business account with Paychex, DON'T DO IT! There's no value to the service, and I regret not reading the reviews sooner. Now, canceling my account has turned into an absolute nightmare.

This company handles my employer's pre-tax benefits. I've been with this employer, and using BRI's…read moreFSA and commuter benefit services, for about 18 months. So far I've been really happy with their service. The website and app are simple, easy to use, and give me the info I need. Any time I've submitted a manual claim it's been processed quickly. The few times I've had to call someone on the phone, they've generally been helpful and responsive. I honestly have no complaints!

This is my second review of this company. I honestly didn't think things could get worse after my…read morefirst experience a few months ago--but they did. I purchased custom orthotics, fully covered by insurance, totaling over $500. I had more than enough funds available, yet my card was declined over a $39 eye doctor receipt that BRI claimed was "unclear." I visited the eye doctor three separate times to obtain a new receipt and submitted it three times--still denied. I eventually paid the $39 out of pocket just to get my card unblocked. The foot doctor allowed me to pay $275 upfront and the remainder when I picked up the orthotics. I immediately submitted a reimbursement claim for that $275. Weeks later, I discovered it had been denied. When I called, I was told the receipt was legible and verified--but the description of service wasn't acceptable. Apparently, the word "orthotics" wasn't good enough, despite being plainly listed on the receipt. When I returned to pay the remaining $250, I used the now-unblocked HSA card with no issues and then requested an even more detailed receipt for the first charge that was denied--something I've never had to do before. The doctor's office was just as confused as I was, but they complied. That claim was denied too, this time with the excuse that I'd already reached my 2025 maximum, which is flat-out untrue. At that point, based on my experience and the countless similar reviews, I knew there was nothing more I could do. For BRI, these awful experiences aren't a bug--they're the business model. They intentionally make reimbursement difficult, knowing people will eventually give up. That's how they protect their bottom line. If you have any choice at all, do not use this company. It's a racket--plain and simple.
