He made me pay in advance which is unusual and should have been my first red flag. He had all of my information and that of the foundation in hand by the middle of February. Despite this he filled extensions for both filings, the second red flag. I had to email, text and call multiple times to get a status update from him, third red flag. I pay estimated taxes so need to know how much was due for April 15th and June 16th which I could not calculate without the 2023 taxes having been completed. I was so stressed and anxious, the fourth red flag. He finally filled my taxes on June 16th. Last week I got a letter from FTB telling me my taxes had been incorrectly calculated and I owed another $2,000 including $90 in late fees and interest payments. Today I got a letter from the IRS telling me my taxes had been incorrectly calculated and I was getting a $300 refund. So he was late to file despite having all the necessary information well in advance and then to add insult to injury HE DID NOT PREPARE EITHER OF MY TAX FILINGS CORRECTLY.
